To be fair, its still not exactly tier 1, the players need to gain experience, being such a young team. But this is the right direction towards #1

100% tier 1 and around 50% top 1, if they win this over other teams than yes. Could argue that heroic is looking just as good. And i can see all other teams taking the tournament.

Astralis has not been consistent for like 2 years, what are you supposed to do when Ax1le drops 60 kills in 50 rounds.

2019 2 majors, decent amount of tournament wins, maintained top 1 pretty well. Sure it wasnt 2018 dominance, but still, it was consistent. Only in 2020 til now they fell off hard.

2021-04-08 21:20
ASTRALIS are the real t2 teams. they won titles in 2018 and 2019 only because rest of the t1 teams had either adding new t2,t3 no namers and the level of competition in 2018-19 was far lower than compared to 2015-17. so lucky astralis, now get rekt hahahxaxa

Getting rekt against who? New nonamer who emerges? Where were you when Astralis placed #1 in 2020 and consistent top 5 throughout 2020? Exept when they had 2 players being replaced and then just swapping players for 5 months.
2021-04-08 21:29
gambit just played great, astralis looked unprepared but idk cant say for sure still not out yet tho

They were playing in tier2 and tier3 tournaments, they were the academy team of Gambit... Their name was Gambit Youngsters, they peaked in #25 in HLTV rankings on 18 Nov 2019, they made some upsets against teams like Navi or BIG: hltv.org/matches/2342314/natus-vincere-v.. hltv.org/matches/2341172/gambit-youngste.. Then they added Hobbit, and were promoted to the main team which didn't have a roster. Last year, they end up #15 in the HLTV rankings. So I don't know why are you asking "where were they last year" if you didn't started watching cs this year.

Suddenly?? They have been grinding t2 for over a year and made their way into t1, winning one of the biggest tournaments of the year with all the best teams attending and continuing to show they can shred through the top of the scene
2021-04-08 21:40
yet, they're already going to become top 1 of the next rankings your point is irrelevant

2021-04-08 21:52

I didn't mean that they're capable of top 1 atm, it's a question which will be answered with the time, my only point is, that, u've mentioned Heroic, they have had almost similar storyline in your opinion like 4 or 6 months ago, yet, these guys are tier 1 for me, therefore, it's logical to call gambit tier 1 team All I can say, is, that cadiaN is a beast atm
2021-04-08 21:56
calling them tier 2 team is too much, they've still won iem katowice
2021-04-08 21:46
They had a 90%+ win rate at t2 and made the gradual climb into t1 over 2020 just like spirit and VP with yekindar. Just because you don’t pay attention to the scene doesn’t mean they came out of nowhere into t1.
2021-04-09 16:50
tier 1 team* Astralis were a legendary team, not anymore, time to disband

Gambit for sure looks to be taking number 1, they are sharp right now, but for how long? This could just be another BiG/Heroic story, and will fall off. Only difference is that these guys are young, so they only have room to grow more

I mean how long they are #1 is quite irrelevant to astralis. That only really speaks to the consistency of gambit. Also, heroic seems to be doing really good now that they made some roster swaps. They seem like they'll be playing astralis and will be very likely to win over them

Out of 24 teams they qualified for top 6. Not bad. Vitality, NaVi, BiG, Liquid, VP and others already out. It's juzz tuff up there! Gambit is NOT tier 2, btw: They are most likely the strongest team atm, but you will see THE most winning team of all time roaming around at the top for years to come.
2021-04-08 22:01
Why is it so hard to folllow a team that is "inconsistent"? The emotional rollercoaster of upset lose makes wins even more satisfying. I wouldnt bother follow a team that keeps winning, sounds boring to me to be honest.
