"Getting a tattoo somewhere on your body which you yourself can't see (maybe with a mirror or two, lol) is ONLY because you care about what others think of you."
It is not. And here is where your mindset is different:
Imagine this, you make choices on your own. It doesnt Matter what part of your life this choice affects. I will give you an example: You wake up in the Morning and get dressed. What do you wear? Why do you wear it? Society will expect you to dont go out naked, so you make a choice. What does your Choice depend on? The Weather? Your Mood? How you feel in the Cloth you pick? Utility of the Clothing? Maybe that favorit Shirt of yours? Or do you Pick your Cloth with your mind directed towards what would please the majority of the People out there because you bother what they will think about you? And then you make your Choice of Clothes and i use your phrase ONLY because you care about what others think of you?
You then have a Crowdpleaser Mindset.
Tattoos are self expression and Art. If your taste differs, thats fine.
If your self expression is centered around Crowdpleasing, go on. But dont Project it onto others.
There are plenty of reasons for many things. But thinking people get tattooed for other people to judge, react or enjoy you are wrong. Except for Guys and Gals that maybe have Star or Swallow Tattoos, or some Japanese Kanjis that probably say "Baka Gaijin" anyway.
While being at it, if i cant see my tattoo because its on my back for example.. who would see it? I mean not like shirts are a thing..
Do you think People get a Tattoo as a show off, pay thousands of Euros and then cover it 95% of the Time by a Shirt because its totaly worth the other 5% where other people can see it? Highly doubt that.
