blacks have 60g actuation force. you do not want that. ignore all of the comments. no brand keyboards today have black switches. the old old steelseries 6gv2 used black switches for comparison. red 45g blue 55g brown 45g yellow 50g green 65g for cs, if gateron switches, you want red/brown/yellow/blue red/yellow = linear switch brown = tactile switch blue = clicky switch i would get blue/brown for better feel reds are also nice but they have less tactile feedback, personal preference daskeyboard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/.. daskeyboard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/.. daskeyboard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/.. again ignore all posts saying black. there is no reason to get black when you have the other options.

Why wouldn't you want blacks? I play CS on 78g tactiles and they're no different to playing on blues or yellows what are you talking about

don't know if that's possible tbh, less noise means less clickyness. you need to find a balance.

Gateron Yellows are the top 1 budget switches. If you're going to spend a little more on switches, you have Glorious Pandas that are the remake of Holy Pandas, that were prefered a lot by the community when they came out. And if you're going to splurge on switches, you have Zealios. It will then depend on your likings. I'd go for linears or tactile tho. Edit: not Zealios, but Zeal switches. Zealios is a type of switch by Zeal.

its a shitty offbrand mechanical keyboard. just get one from a well known brand and have it for 4 years like me. 20-30 mroe euro and it will alst YEARS and feel much better. had the FUNC kb40 (which is not fnaticgear) and it has lasted me 5 years. red switches, 2 usb ports, red LED, and i never had to switch.

If you play with friends on discord/teamspeak the clicky switches can be annoying af. If you still want to get some clicky switches, I would probably avoid the cherry ones, and maybe even the clicky gateron ones, there are other switches that feel and sound better (less plasticky)

What about silvers for gaming?
2021-04-25 15:42

For gaming pretty much any switch that isn't absurdly heavy will be fine. People will swear by reds because they're light, or switches with a shorter travel because they "actuate quicker", but in reality none of this actually makes a difference unless you're playing Osu or something like that. My personal advice is that something in the 55g range is a good place to start, because they're unlikely to be too light if you've got meaty fingers, or too heavy if you've got twiggy fingers. So yellows are an easy go-to recommendation.

I got HyperX FPS Alloy Red with Cherry Mx red switches. They are still more loud than any keyboard with membrane, and my gf really hates it. I use it for work aswell, not just gaming. For CS and other FPS games it's perfect, and you don't need heavier switch imo, for typing it's also really good, but needs some time to adjust to the very light switches, but once you get used to it, you will really like it, trust me. If you type a lot because of work or something, and you dont play a lot of fps games, you can go for a heavier tactile one. I wouldn't buy a clicky switch for fps games (nor tactile, that's why I went with the red switches), or if you want to keep it quiet. Take a look at this picture: external-preview.redd.it/6AlNg60X5US-RsV.. I got mine for three years now, and I do really like this keyboard, the only thing I want to switch is the spacebar so it gets a heavier switch, because I do press it too many times accidentally.

The coloring should be the same, my point was to go with the red switches if you are a hardcore fps gamer, if you mostly work on it and play 1 mm a day, i would buy a tactile one, but if you generally need it for fps, go with red/black switches, they should be more or less the same no matter the brand.
