I agree but im afraid for our long haired hero Xeppa (( Valorant orgs are coming out everywhere because the game is new Valve isn't doing anything with CS so new orgs are scared to invest, especially with valorant and especially with the lack of orgs in NA. It's gonna take like 2-3 orgs coming out with rosters in NA for the confidence to come back up.

I do wish valve drop a bombshell and do something like add a case full of org skins. ofc make the skins good and not just the org logo plastered on it. Would make being an org is cs way more profitable, and maybe also make the stockholm major like a TI. If they keep it this way I think the only NA orgs left will be whatever shit is in NA MDL like extra salt BNB etc plus hopefully EG as who knows if they continue to invest if the new lineup fails and TL. Otherwise, I beileve cs esports in NA will stay dead unless something big changes or a few years past and maybe valorant is dead (unlikely for valorant to die as most likely Riot (shit company) will add the pussy franchise system which NA owners get a hard on when they see it)

Eh, I'm thinking towards actual real updates for the game to get back player interest again. Skins only cater to people already playing the game. They 100% need to scrap OW+trust factor and start over again with VAC. Either change how VAC works or scrap that too and introduce VAC2. We are at a point where new players are going to be instantly uninterested in the game due to the sheer amount of cheaters/spinbotters (<-which no other game has btw) and cheaters can just buy a new high trust prime ready account for <$5. Also, they need to add active duty maps to scrimmage mode. Right now, it's pretty much pointless to play scrimmage unless you are doing challenges. This also turns players off, as casual is pretty garbage by itself. TLDR; New Anti-Cheat that works, New server browser, new Demo system and a shakeup in the map pool and Viola, You have a lot of new interest in the game.

I disagree with VAC. unless they have full access to your PC with some chinese malware VAC is at its best rn and they will continue to improve it. More effective that they start catching cheat coders and having huge ban waves. Cheating will always be a massive issue in any ftp game and it will be a forever cat and mouse game between Valve and cheat coders. Also, for new players I think its more like 1 of the first 50 they will get a cheater. maybe I am misremembering the statistic tho, but a valve dev tweeted about this. Also, I agree scrimmage is fucking useless garbage. I would personally just bring back old cobble. I also agree the demo system is archaic and needs a revamp. Also, the best and easiest way to garner more interest is to have the biggest prizepool tournament ever plus your esports growing as more eyes are looking at it and orgs heavily market it as they will profit more the more players come to cs.

That valve dev lied. You are free to create a new account and test for yourself. But the fact that 3+ years into Vac and we can't autoban spinners?? There is no explanation for a spinner. Nobody can spin like that LEGIT and walk in a straight line, let alone get 5k headshots. It's actually a joke that they've plagued this game this long. Yeah, cheating will never stop but you are accepting extreme rage cheating as the norm. That's the issue.
2021-04-17 01:39
Valve can easily be like Riot when it comes to cheats though but I do not know why they can't. I remember about an article where Riot sued the cheatmakers for League and they won. Now, Valve can easily do this if they step up.

Shame when players that could have had a future in CSGO leave. The scene is changing and it's slowly happening to EU as well. Valve or someone needs to do something to get orgs and TO's up on CS events again. I think a source 2 re-launch is really all they can do to stem the bleeding. The problem is player numbers are still good and Valve in reality doesn't give a shit about esports. It's just a marketing tool for you to open cases. So until those start to bleed away they are probably content to make fantasy robot vr games that will never release.

I don't see anything happening to EU? No pro players leaving and 10k viewers for the Valorant matches.

Players are leaving though. It's the t2 and t3 players and the pro scene in CS is bigger but people are 100% leaving CS. (In EU, Olof rumored, Scream etc) I would bet guys like Smooya transition eventually. See even in NA dudes like Elige or Brehze aren't going anywhere. They are too valuable even on a European team. But anyone that doesn't fit into that upper crust has or will have a huge temptation going forward financially. But you've really only seen one Tier 1 NA pro leave in Ethan and that wasn't really about the game more the life style. I guess you can consider Tarik T1 but not really. Regardless the Euro pro scene doesn't matter. If the Faze clans and C9s (gulp) of the world pull out that makes the scene infinitesimally smaller. It won't die it will just do a starcraft 2 where it keeps it's hardcore fans but slowly bleeds out. This I don't even think is reversible at this point. Also Valorant matches are really hard to even watch in Europe atm. G2 Carlos has bitched about this a bunch. The LEC used to be the B tier league to the LCS as well. Riot just realizes that even though esports is a loser money wise people buy the shit out of skins especially when you can get a Team Liquid logo on them and Valve for whatever reason only ever partially figured this out.

Olof was already retiring and scream was washed up long time ago so basically nobody is leaving. SC2 was never as big as cs;go not even close. I mean i'm starting to think that you're just trolling if you compare sc2 to CS;GO and trust me i followed SC2 when it came out. CS;GO is still the most played game on steam by far and hits 300-400k on twitch regularly while dominating the e-sports betting charts, i mean Valorant is nowhere to be found lol. They really need that RIOT money and sponsor money to keep things running but for how long if nobody gives a fuck about the matches? Twitch numbers are going down, Shroud's included. CS;GO is just getting bigger in EU. NA dying but who cares the numbers are still even greater.

Professional CSGO is by no means getting bigger. You have to be absolutely blind to think otherwise. I'm sorry I don't mean to insult you it's just the reality of the situation.

It's getting bigger in SA and it shows no slowing down in EU. Only content dying is NA, again who cares. What is the reality of Valorant scene? Absolutely dog shit, it's almost irrelevant compared to CS;GO.

There is no reason to shit on halflife just because your shit game is dieing. Half life did much more for the future of gaming than cs
2021-04-17 06:46

This is true but it's not going to be a popular opinion on this forum. Half-Life was the first 'second wave' FPS that really caught on. We moved past the dooms and bloods and quakes into story driven scripted FPS games and honestly we are still pretty much following that formula. Nothing really copied CS until Valorant.
2021-04-17 18:13

Not only that, half life(or was it second one?) was the first game where you could interact with your surroundings, for example picking a saw(or basically anything around you) with your gravity gun and shooting that thing to enemy. That was a huge gamechsnger for the future and half life did so much more.

Stacking things to make ramps. You're thinking of HL2. But I think of them as essentially extensions of one another. You look at a modern CoD campaign. Which sells tens of millions of units every year and it's the same scripted set pieces Valve pioneered back from 97-2003. Shame they stopped making games. Also still waiting on HL3 and not the damn VR version.
