Football European Superleague

Portugal skiLfuI
apparently according to @mohamedbouhafsi on twitter, in some hours this league will be announced with clubs such as Man.Utd, Liverpool, Man.City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico, Inter, Milan and Juventus being a part of it. Obviously this league is for the rich clubs with most of them having arab owners, in my opinion, with this we are one step closer towards killing football, uefa is already one of the most corrupt organizations and with this oil league, football as we know it will be dead, no champions league nights and players from this clubs wont play in international events such as the world cup. What do you guys think of this?

the only "big" clubs missing from there are bayern and PSG and maybe Dortmund, there are some shite clubs there yes, but it will be a big loss for football in general
2021-04-18 18:35

wdym UCL will become europa league? From what I understood UCL and UEL will stay the same. Or did you say UCL will become europa league because the level of football will go down?

The latter you're gonna have Leicester, Westham, Everton and Leeds (watching this year) instead of City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea Sevilla, Granada and Villareal instead of Barca, Real and Atletico Roma, Napoli, Lazio instead of Juve, Milan and Inter

Id rather have those teams because i know those players dont care that much for money and will play with their hearts. Superleague will be super boring after 1 year, watching same teams and same players, those players wouldnt like it either. If there are 12 teams in this league, that means we gonna watch and they gonna play very often against same teams and same players over and over again, which is boring af. I just hope UEFA and Football Associations will really kick those clubs from next years competitions and national leagues, ban those players from playing for their national teams.

Man City- Arab Man United- American Liverpool- American(LeBron has some stakes LUL) Arsenal- American/Arab Chelsea- Russian Spurs- Actually British Barcelona- Arab Real Madrid- Arab Atletico- Actually Spanish Inter- Chinese Milan- Chinese Juve- Actually Italian Football was already buried dead under money, now it surely won't get out of it unless some global crisis emerges especially in the oil business. Leave the underdog stories in a place, we might not see a push from high-mid tier teams like Porto, Dortmund, Ajax or Lyon.

Barça and Real aren't 100% Arab but heavily funded by them. The same thing with Arsenal I guess so that's my bad, I've edited that.

I wish Arsenal were arab bro. Wenger would have had more than 10 mcdonalds burgers to spend in the transfer market since invincibles.

barça and madrid (specially barça) are one of the few remaining top tier teams which still are run by their partners

No idea, guess it's easier to have hegemony on players that play in their leagues? PSG and Bayern are the ones who should be ask for a superleague, since they play in dead leagues
2021-04-18 17:41

yeah idk also this is worse for PSG as more likely than not that Mbappe is gone to Madrid as they play in the biggest league now unlike PSG. Bayern idk what they are doing tbh
2021-04-18 17:41
PSG probably wants their hand on a UCL trophy. This concept is what Bayern and Bundesliga swore to destroy so I get Germans declining it. They don't allow over 50% ownership from an outside source in the league and because of that RB Leipzig was controversial and since Bayern supports this rule signing with a rich boys league would be a two-faced move.

oh yeah that makes a lot of sense. I guess Qatar money knows they will get clapped in this league as most likely Mbappe will be gone to Madrid and who knows if Neymar will stay. Farm CLs I guess. but if West Ham have Lingardinho (GOAT) they will lose.

it will be ruined if they won't permit teams to partake to their national leagues and national team obviously, if uefa stands their grounds probably won't happen Players wouldn't accept to not play in their nts
2021-04-18 17:54
this is really bad, football is becoming more and more unlikable, at least for me personally and it sucks :(

2021-04-18 18:02
the beauty about the cl and football in general is that any team from anywhere has the chance to win it like porto way back with murinho....they are taking same road as the american sports locking the game only for the richest teams...football is dying

Most of these clubs are EL level clubs this season that are creating a league in fear of them missing out of UCL: Man.Utd - Liverpool - Won one game at Anfield in 2021. Arsenal - 9th in premier league, they won't even make it to UEFA conference league. Chelsea - Spent 100M+ on strikers to end up with a midfielder being their top scorer this season with 6 goals, also might miss champions league next season. Spurs - They are competing for UEFA conference league, didn't make it past round of 64 in UEL. Barcelona - 1.2B in debt and Messi is leaving. Real Madrid - Really mediocre level team, making it to UCL finals this year because of drawing. Inter, Milan - As a Milan fan, both Milan clubs have been trash for years. Inter have finished below Shakhtar in UCL groups and Milan are like NaVi super inconsistent. Juventus - Just lost vs. Atalanta today and if Napoli win they drop out of UCL spots. tldr: dead clubs and oil money clubs are scared of not qualifying for UCL so they create a closed league
