NEW Tuscan Available
Spain Sneakers Had a Labyrinth feel to it. Might be more because i dont know the map, barely even remember it from 1.6. But its not even remotely finished.. gotta wait and see. Also i disagree with BRUTE and catfood or whoever decided to release it on the workshop, u will have the same effect as 2015 tuscan with this method (most hated it, was unplayable, and nobody wanted to even try it anymore), probably there is doubts from the creators with the layout.. and need feedback from community.

i think they go in a cronological order, so its mirage, or overpass, then train yeah, as it was the first remade map into CS:GO. I feel train is a pretty stale map tho, so im kinda with u, but its a classic CS map.

its fun imo, was very good in 1.6
2021-04-18 22:58
it was a good map in 1.6 it might be overrated in CS:GO standards tho, and it might never feel like old nosatalgia, so.. yeah. But i would like to see map pool changes so i will support it if they changed stuff. Id prefer a brand new map tho.. aka, anubis. But people dont play the maps = Valve dont see the stats rising, so they dont do changes.

people are just bored of the same map pool for 2 years and bored of maps like mirage that been in the pool for like 9 years or some shit
2021-04-18 23:17
it was very good in 1.6, but CSGO is a much different game to 1.6, in terms of skill, shooting, movement and utility. For sure interesting to see a new/re-made map in a map pool as it has been stale same maps for years
2021-04-18 23:17
it has a sick layout, and has a lot choke points, and many inferno/mirage/cache like elements
2021-04-19 13:23
Wonder how the final version will look like... This one feels way too much cartoonish (gives me Valorant vibes)

absolutely agree. pretty strong valorant vibes. I wont play it anymore Until the lastest versions of tuscan.. cuz if i do, im gonna hate the map. i know.. lol as i said too, i dont understand why release such an unfinished map.. they must have the reasons, something doesnt feel right layout wise.

Mill would be horrific in CS:GO without any changes to the map besides retexturing though. I agree Mill was a better map but in 1.6. There is just not enough viable entrances on Mill. Imagine trying to come out of the sewers in A. In 1.6 you could slide off of it and right onto the ground without doing that weird jump into the air before landing. You could also slide yourself up off the ladder onto the highest box right next to the sewers. I don't believe either of those are doable in CS:GO. Also the sewer was such a boring thing for when teams went B (for spectators) as it required people walking about 85% of the way. Again it worked in 1.6 because of how the game was played/movement. It just wouldn't be the same. At least with Tuscan you have a door instead of the sewers, multiple entrances into site B that don't require walking sewers the whole way, and a much more closed off section of the map in short B that adds more to the map than what cpl_mills same area provided.

visibility is great which was a big problem from 2015 tuscan, but the design is weird and feels waaay too Valorantish, hopefully fully textured it remind u of CS again.

Valorantish is the perfect word to describe it

Would be nice to find some middle ground. I'm not advocating to go in this way for all maps but some variation would be nice. Right now colors aren't used enough on some of these maps. Obviously why do much with Inferno and Dust2 as those are OG maps but lets get some more color on Mirage. We don't need 3 dusty type based maps IMO.

Alright. 1.6 player here and as someone who liked Tuscan. I downloaded it and tested with the utility aspect in mind. I feel like this map will need a complete rework of structure. The layout is fine but every single wall is so high that proper nading will be impossible. The angle for smokes is very close because in many cases it will have to bounce off the skybox and the actual sites aren't with enough for the smoke to land in any place useful. Walls are also too high for popflashing. The bomb area in A site needs to be wider. A single molotov from CT will block the whole planting area where you have cover. There's a small platform in the site that for some reason isn't allowed to plant there. The map has to be reworked and walls have to be lower across the entire map.

bump, great feedback. I think most of it is waiting for the final work, as its in Work in progress still. But it does concern me the huge walls (idk if they can really change this part so much, it has always been like this), as its "part" of the map. And that platform in the site feels wrong (i would remove that), i mean planting on that platform doesnt feel right either.. and the T flanks from there just feel like an awkward spot. I cant tell if the map is T sided or CT tbh. I think they have a chance to make it work, but the 2 map level designers BRUTE and CATFOOD will have to put in a lot of work. It feels like minimum 6 months, until last versions are up and ready to be for official client.

The map used to be T sided back in 1.6. In CSGO, I don't know. The playstyle has changed drastically over the years. I don't know why they added that small platform and why it doesn't allow you to plant there. This certainly wasn't a thing in the 1.6 version. Even if they make it a plantable area, it still won't fix it because the molotov spreads enough to cover the entire area with cover. They'd have to extend the planting area a bit to the opposite wall of the site to allow for some cover. The map had tall walls in 1.6 as well but it needs to be adapted to what CSGO has to offer utilitywise. Otherwise the map will look plain tactical wise. This is part of the major problems that Vertigo has. The structure of the layout doesn't allow for many plays or a lot of utility and as a result a lot of the rounds play exactly the same regardless of which teams are playing. That has to be avoided with Tuscan. The map already has a much better layout than Vertigo so it wouldn't come to that but utility is key for keeping the gameplay fresh.
