how tf was it his fault, if he didn't sign them they would've left ages ago

Floppy would probably be on Extra Salt right now, but i guess kinda fair for xeppaa (maybe couldve joined a different team tho)

But HenryG had the intention of keeping them on for a long term project and the reason that didn't succeed was the underperformance of the team in key games, so if anything its Floppy / the actual teams fault. All HenryG did was sign a roster, he didn't get to choose how they performed, that was up to them.

DOnt even bother bro... it looks like people keep searching reasons to hate on people for no reason nowadays.
2021-04-19 22:30
You have a point but I don't understand how they could sign an IGL and coach and after a while kick coach because they have a different vision. Sign a woxic who had problems in Mouz as a Star player and then let him play support awp. Sign Xeppaa and play without main awp. It looks good on papers, but it looks like there is no communication in Cloud9 from start to end.
2021-04-19 23:29
both of them had future in csgo, sad for our scene in general, but even worst for NA.

2021-04-19 21:52
Well it seems like they don't care about achievements and hard work but more often than not about money, which is pretty sad to me. I guess it's just different priorities and you can't do much about it.

He already have a lot of followers, so streaming + valorant could happen but of course let's hope for the best
2021-04-19 21:58
I mean given the state of the NA CS scene, you either take a 10k/month valorant salary or play for less than half of that, or no salary, to continue in NA CS. Also have to consider that for these young guys, most of their friends they played with on teams/in fpl or players they idolized have switched to valorant. Smart to chase the salary/streaming revenue as opposed to playing a game where you will make 10-20% of that.

I think my point still stands though. Many players in all sorts of sports are driven by achieving success. It feels like that goal is still on everyone's mind in Europe at least, which I'm glad about. While in NA it feels like majority of players would rather choose easier path than hard grind for success. I understand that NA scene is weak right now but do you really think they couldn't achieve big things like Europeans if they tried their best? They don't have slower reaction speeds or weaker brains, right? If Europeans can grind their way from pc cafes to the top then so can Americans.

I dont think its really about achievements or money, truth is most people follow the path of least resistance. It's easy to criticize the players for switching, but at the end of the day these players are looking for a job. If you have trouble making a living in cs and youre offered 7K a month to play valorant, of course you'll accept
2021-04-19 23:20
Freakazoid has always said that the problem with NA CS is more players cared more about money than winning and it’s shown recently but has been showing for years now. If you compare NA FPL to EU FPL, EU FPL Was a way for some of the best players to play against each other but NA FPL was revolved more around the money side with the prize money, streaming, etc. I get the whole point of making a living but personal goals and achievements should be taken into factor as well.
2021-04-19 23:35
I don't get the brazilians happy about this. Every "hero" needs a "villain", losing C9 means minus one team to compete and draw attention to the competitive scene. CS would be boring if you just cheered for every team.

yeah tarik had his moments, but i believe he can still manage to do it tho. Xeppa and floppy were very promising. Dont know what to expect from NA scene right now. Can BNB or Extra Salt deliver some good cs on EU? I wonder...
2021-04-19 22:02

I have more faith in Salt than I do in BNB but I don't think that either one will fair all that well. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that NA is simply less skilled than EU. It's not their fault though. We're out in a bubble over here.

I mean realistically, even if Valorant never existed or even if he did and these players never switched. NA would still be in this bubble because majority of them were washed t2/t3 players and weren’t accomplishing anything. The brightside is all these players switching sheds light on new talent as where all the former players are stealing paychecks in Valorant. Most of them at least. It’s just the same cycle.

This literally has nothing to do with Valve though, what do you want valve to do about this?

Not this specifically but they aren't trying to improve anything about the game, some small things here and there but they aren't making any service changes like upgrading to 128 tick, they have one of the worst ladder systems ever. The Riot system for Orgs is more attractive as well, which is why you see all these random orgs popping up in Valorant and established ones leaving CS
2021-04-19 23:51
2 replies
I agree 128 tick should be added but there’s not much else to add. Most valorant updates consistent of nerfing or buffing current characters or adding skins most people won’t buy. Occasionally you’ll get a new character but it’s not like CS can just add stuff like that. The MM system is a little weird, but isn’t terrible. I think it would be cool to see Elo gain or loss to rank up like faceit, Esea, or valorant, maybe one day. How is it more attractive to orgs though?
2021-04-20 00:05
1 reply
These orgs are operating under the assumption of the Valorant system being similar to the LoL franchising system. Which it already is to an extent. Riot does not allow 3rd party TOs to operate unless they have been specifically sanctioned by riot. Meaning that every event is a Riot event. Whereas in cs you have esl, blast ,flashpoint and a ton of other organizations that just want to operate a tournament in csgo besides valve events (majors). Under the valve system your team has to be good/do good to succeed. But with the riot franchisee system you just have to buy in and you can work out the rest later. That's why this model is more attractive for orgs as it's guaranteed at the very least. But in cs if you drop a qualifier or aren't invited to one of the other TOS events you are simply out of luck.

I think NA has a major problem of bringing players through when they’re way too young, they should be grinding the game out in in-house leagues at 20. Maybe starting to break into lower tier teams. Instead they’re picked up by big teams at a young age, flopping and then being dropped and essentially retiring to valorant at 20. I look at junior and think he could easily go the same way.
