Shooting mechanics are too shit to be fun
It's not a bad game, but the whole time I play all I think is "This is just CS but worse" which is the opinion I still hold. Movement feels worse, guns feel worse, no reason at all to switch unless you are getting a big NA paycheck.
Big orgs will probably leave, old players will stay on the pay check for years, certainly some op heroes will pop up, also CS has lots of sponsors, so it will be hard to find sponsors, apart from asia
they nerfed peekers advantage through community pressure when the community was wrong - it's a core game mechanic
Never played and won't play cuz I gotta download that stupid Vanguard to play Valorant. And I'll prob play like 2 games before I get bored. Goddamn sleeper to watch
Imo shooting mechanics are better than CS:GO's shooting mechanics.
its just looks like a cringe anime game with graphics for kids, its kinda the same with fortnite - imagine playing some kiddy games.
Also the abilities bringing a big skill Factor, but on the other side they completly destroy the raw shooter skills, cuz every noob can kill u while abusing some noob abilities.
Almost good, but it will always just be worse CS. It has some cool abilities that I think are fun, however Riot doesn’t seem to know the difference between cool abilities and bullshit abilities, and they are adding in more bullshit.
It will also never have the community servers or the skin market of CS, which I think is 2/3 of the game. There are 3 very strong elements to CS, while Valo only has 1.
Plus the maps in Valo are dog water so
Didn't play, not going to.
It isnt bad. It has some nice parts. Like the buy system shit tbh. Kinda more variety with the utility i.e abilities. HOWEVER GOD DAMN does your character feel like they weigh more than a fucking cargo ship. You just slug your way through the maps. Its unbearable. Also unless you have a 5 stack then good luck finding a game with even ONE person that talks.
Haven`t played it, don`t care about it.
It has some good parts and bad parts that end up not coming out to an overall good whole. Gates are good instead of random spawns, optimized buy system is good. Maps, slow asf movement speed, random spread on guns are all awful. Abilities are... fine? I don't care too much about that part.
One thing I know they're gonna end up doing at some point that always pisses me off is they're going to add an LGBTQ+ character and masquerade their sexuality around like it that character's whole personality. Every game with "relatable in-game heroes" does it at some point.
The shooting is shit, movement is trash, the characters are so small and slim so its even harder to hit them.
Well it's ok for me, but i disliked some maps and abilites
I liked it but i don’t want 100 different characters like in LoL.
Played cs for almost 20yrs. Due to work and family i cannot play everyday. But when i have some spare time i am only playing valorant because its something fresh. I really like the abilities and the anime Look. Still cs will be the big love in my heart :)
until they add a mode when its 10v10 like in casual im not playing it
When i play cs i drop 20+ frags all time easily, im double ak but not playing so much these days. But when i play valorant i get fucked all the time in silver elo.I feel like everyone insta headshots and i cant aim.
I gave it a couple of chances (might give a last one) and found it to be an ok game. It's just the idea of a cs scenario mixed with abilities still seems weird to me. Tbh I don't even use them, only shoot people in the head.
Imo it is pretty bad compared to csgo specially when you see the shooting mechanics , slow motion movement speed and the stupid maps. The abilities are kinda ez to use ( atleast 90% of them) .
However I like valorant because it is the best thing that happened to csgo. Now valve will pay more attention to their game and we get a better cs.
Really fun but the raw mechanics (not abilities) aren't as polished as CS.
If CS had abilities i would play that over non-ability CS, and I did actually do that in 1.6 with superhero mod and wc3 mod
I never watched a valulrant video/stream for more than 30 seconds. Its a fail for me anyway.
The sniper isn‘t fun, so is the deagle. But headshotting with rifles is pretty satisfying.
Valorant runs like a dream , no stutters constant 250+ fps on full hd , insane smoothness while on CS I get on average 120 fps on 1280x720 and the game feels laggy as hell even on higher frames . Thats main reason why I prefer Valorant
It's not bad, only thing I hate there is the movement
Had a lot of fun at the beginning, does some things better than CS, dropping weapons eg, the Anti Cheat is great, Wallbangs are more like 1.6. But around Season 2 and Ranked as Immortal 3 i came back to CS because i prefer the Weapon, Recoil and Grenade play. It feels better.
Play whatever you like, I think it’s a bit snoozefest but stop making threads about it on hltv
I like it. Some critiques - I think some of the skills are broken (Viper ult comes to mind), breach is crazy (so much god damn utility), haven map sucks (way too many entry points for attackers)
i played it beta and all of my friends that didnt play cs played it with me
i had a lot of fun then.
Now everyone switched to cs, no one is playing valorant anymore soooooo
It's a freak-game that is trying to combine several different already existing games, all in one. It's perfect for kids just like Fortnite and Call of Duty but I dont think it will ever be a serious esport.
shit game, simple would dominate the pro scene
I think Valorant is probably more "fun," but CS:GO is better if you want to be sweaty and really try hard. But also in my recent experience, Valorant is somehow way more toxic to the point where it's genuinely not fun, but maybe I've just gotten unlucky about that.
I played Valorant for a little cause I was able to move up the ranks much faster but then came back to csgo cause its just better imo
Quite a fun alternative to counterstrike, although there are some really integral things missing if they want to develop like good DM, a demo viewer and a match making system that isn’t Brocken. Oh and the maps need to get a little more refined and more need to be added,
Played a decent bit around beta/ release
fun to play from a casual standpoint but i had more fun in quick play fragging out than playing competetive
My only point of interest in the professional scene is the cs pros that i was already a fan of
ive watched maybe 2 rounds of pro valorant
overall game doesnt really interest me
its like cs but much worse in many aspects.
1. movement too slow. peeking etc feels garbage.
2. many agents and more to come.
so many abilities flying around, its a mess.
3. not enough recoil, hitboxes too big.
aiming feels to easy in this game.
trash graphic, even cs is better
i looks like a kids game like fortnite
I played it for 2 weeks and these are my points.
It was fun to play, but the downfall was that it has cartoonish graphics/ slow movement, and shooting mechanics.
Ofcourse it has better anti-cheat that is why most people are switching to it.
I hope valve is deep down working on something for csgo.
Enjoyable as a casual game but it’s quite toxic compared to csgo. There’s only 2 decent maps, bind and assent but you can’t pick maps so you always end up playing icebox which is an awful map. Movement and shooting mechanics are fine but the op is awful to use. It’s so sluggish compared to awp. The abilities are a bit hit or miss for me, I think there are too many flashes through walls, you can face some team comps where you try and hit site or defend and get flashed for what feels like years.
Im not a fan of the game but I played like 5-6 games and it was ok . The game is not bad but the graphics are just not for me
I hate rifles because they feel worse than cs but I like to use the operator because it's easier to no scope with. Marshall is also a good gun and the pistols are pretty fun to use other than the shitty frenzy. I don't like the movement in valorant because it feels slow and clunky compared to CS. Some abilities also seem game breaking and I think viper is hidden op.
Don't really care about the game.
Imo Riot gonna make Valorant into a music making game like Leauge of Legend. Damn Riot da best company to develope music from game!
kiddie game with kiddie graphics and stupid op abilities on characters.
played deathmatch once got fucking destroyed harder than i ever was in csgo and deinstalled
Valorant is a good game. But it’s incomparable to CS. The game is fun with friends and I like the whole strategic side of the game, but the gun play ain’t great, random spray patterns allows for more luck and less skill. The maps are a lot smaller and leave less exciting opportunities within a match, less places to push get a pick etc. Also the movement is absolutely terrible compared to CS, the only positives of this game that it has over CS is their anti-cheat and 128 tick servers, but considering you have this on FACEIT anyways doesn’t change too much for me. There is also less skill in terms of utility, some flashes are undodgeable I prefer the way that you have to learn smokes and ultility yourself in a practice lobby rather than just spamming smokes and flashes and it working out.
Valorant is a good game but CS is by far the better and more fun game for me.
good game but movement too slow for me, feels like pubg at start
Haven't played or followed in some time, some things I mention and elaborate might have changed over time, for better or for worse. Anyway :
1 : slow and cunky movement. Characters feel heavy for some reason, it feels like you are dragging them throughout the map instead of just running. Not satisfying at all and rather annoying.
2 : shooting mechanics are weird. Random sprays instead of a set spray pattern isn't fun or viable in a competitive shooter.
3 : this is rather personal one but I rather enjoy CSGO the most because of how skill based and skill centered it is without any character power BS or any Ults or that sort of thing. The powers in Valorant are not equal to just utilities in CSGO and are in fact more OP and can win you matches alone. Not something I prefer (this is also one of the reason why I disliked Overwatch as well and am a big fan of TF2. Both class shooters but work in different ways)
4 : it suffers from the same problems that MOBAs have i.e too much going on at the same time & it's always gonna be unbalanced in some way because of Agents and their abilities and always gonna get patched every week or month or so. Not a consistent gameplay.
5 : wrong buy, buying for your teammate etc were actually handled pretty nicely and I liked it.
6 : no community servers. CmonBruh
Anyway that's my views. I would mention one more thing that personally, I actually sucked at the game alot.
ugly characters, ugly maps, ugly movements, ugly sounds, ugly skins.
i hate it just because it is totally copy of cs and not original
Valorant is a breath of fresh air for regions where Valve didn't care about. My region has finally started embracing PC games solely due to Riot's insane support and there are like tons of tourney coming up everyday. Even if I could hate Valorant, I won't because they are finally caring for small regions where other companies completely ignore.
The main thing I don't like about it, is the fact that it's completely symmetrical. What I mean by this is that both sides have access to the same weapons, same abilities, same everything, whereas in CS, T's have the AK, the Glock, the Galil, the Mac-10, the Krieg. And then the CT's have the M4A4, M4A1-S, USP, Famas, MP9 etc... Even the grenades. T's have Molotov, CT's have a proper Incendiary grenade. It just mixes up the gameplay especially when CT's can get their hands on an AK because then you don't want to lose it.
In terms of abilities in Valorant, if Attackers had half of the agents in the game, then Defenders had another half it would make it less boring since fights would be between different agents instead of just Raze vs Raze for example. Plus half of the abilities in the game are just glorified flashbangs. I can't remember the names of the other agents but there must be like 4/5 that have the same ability. The Australian one that has the bird, its just a flashbang. The British guy that can throw them around corners, its just a flashbang. And I know for a fact theres a few others but I honestly can't remember the names.
Also, there is no grenade sandbox like there is in CS. You can't do 1 way smokes, or creative pop-flashes, or lineup a mad smoke from spawn and I also hate how the smokes in the game are hollow?? Like why can you see inside the smoke, it makes no sense.
I've tried really hard to get into Valorant but I just can't because of its extremely boring, repetitive gameplay.
Hate: random sprays. I hate that the sprays are random after a certain point. It makes it really annoying to co troll at times and can make you feel inconsistent.
Like: I like the pace of the game. It's a lot faster paced with the abilities and stuff. You can do some really cool things with it.
Another point I want to add is it's changing meta. Because of the large amounts of updates and changes, the meta is changing constantly. So, there are bound to be characters that are "over-tuned" or under used. For example, the current viper stuff I really don't enjoy.
Ngl, I think I'm better at valorant. Getting pretty close to top 500 lmao. Doubt I'll reach it though.
It's fun, it's not cs no but it's fun and a pretty decent game, I think were it to be released and cs didn't exist all the people slating it here would probably be loving it, so it can't be that bad, people are just weirdly defensive when comparing anything with their precious cs.
I'm a cs fan so naturally I hate valorant 😎😎
If they nerf most of the abilities and make the gameplay more dependent on aiming and shooting could be decent, but in current state it is barely a shooter and more like spamming some shitty anime spells like teleportation and explosions
Very nice game, I played a lot recently, what is your rank?
The biggest + for me is rank system taken from LoL, its massive gap between CS and Valorant.
development potential +
I think its still a fresh game, but they have already stable players base.
Im waiting like a 2-5 seconds for game in diamond so I think its nice.
I'll put in a couple dozen hours if the cs pro scene dies cuz I like watching pro games and I wanna be able to appreciate nice plays, otherwise I'll probably never try it
Shoothing mechanica skins, pros, maps, streams, tournaments literally all just better. Also you can use the. Est platform and its steam
It is fun, I enjoy playing as the agent "Breach" because it fits my play style and those flashpoints are really strong. I need to work on my aim though...
Have watched it a few times briefly, didn't catch my interest at all.
It looked like anime cs in worse and I saw no reason to try to understand it.
CS isn't going to die.
It's fun but the game isn't as smooth as counterstrike in terms of mechanics. Also it's hard to balance everything because of all the different abilities.
shit game tbh
played in beta, it wa sok for a week then closed it, killed the playerbase
another characters and maps are just lulz
hated that abilities are used to instead of nades and are bound to certain characters, thats appealing maybe to lol players
+the graphics fucking suck
I saw some game play videos shortty after the release and never plan to watch/play any of that shit again.
A bit clunkier than CS in terms of the movement and guns and some ultimates feel cheap, but not having a spinbot every third game is actually quite nice ngl
they tried to make an fps game out of LoL,
just go play LoL
It's just so slow that it annoys me. Also maps are weird as hell.
It doesn't appeal to me
But people do seem to enjoy it and in a lot of way it seems like a pretty decent game that gets an active support from Riot
It's sad that how some of the orgs and other players are just abandoning cs go right now like it's some kind of cancer
The graphics make it numbing to play. Fun for 30 mins and then boring af
