i read somewhere nordic languages are somewhat similar
Yes but device live in sweden and speak swedish
we need to see more half danish/swedish teams
In terms of the written language, yes. In terms of the spoken language not so much, though Danes have it easier understanding Swedish than the other way around.
Device is fluent in Swedish though so communication shouldn't really be a problem.
Device has a swedish girlfriend and he lives in Stockholm, Sweden. He speaks it fluently :D Wouldn't be hard if he didnt tho. Just takes some months of practice.
being 5 danish players on one team is definitely easier than being 4 swedes and 1 danish guy in terms of comms
Quite similar but danish pronunciation is weird.
Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are all very similar. Swedish and Norwegian can almost be compared to American English vs British English (keep in mind they are actually two different languages though). Danish is also very similar, but less so vocally. They sound... strange. But we can still understand each other relatively well. The writing is even more similar between our three languages.
It wouldn't be ideal for device to play in NiP while speaking danish. It's too hard to interpret in hectic situations. Thankfully he speaks swedish fluently.
They communicate in russian
device speaks swedish, he said that already
Dont worry, NiP shouldn't have problem to become a top 15 team.
Device speaks swedish
We understand each other but if device would play cs while speaking danish with them it wouldn't work that well
Extremely similar, there wont be any problems at all.
So it’s like Polish, Czech, Slovakia?
device will fit just fine in NiP tbh
Its just cs calling, alot of stuff are called the same thing even in swedish and english when just calling stuff in cs
Danish, Swedish and norwegian is pretty much the same
Swedish and Norwegian are very similar languages. Danish is a similar throat disease.
Its the same when u put potato in your mouth and start speaking swedish
Like this, in writing Danish is understandable to us. When talking, I barely understand anything. The other way around you would have to ask them.
I se alot of these threads over the years about nordic languages. I can help some more. Norwegians are great at both understanding and speaking Swedish, the other way around is semi possible. But norwegian writing is not possible to understand. And lastly, none of the nordic countries understand Finnish.
Yes but Danes pronounce shit pretty strange and speak very fast. But Swedes can understand them. Its like a German talking to a guy from Switzerland. After a few Minutes you understand what strange shit hes saying and learn hes insulting your mum
Swedish, danish and norwegian are so similar it could technically count as accents to eachother
Except for Finland, they speak Russian.
norwegian and swedish are extremely similar but swedes have a really hard time understanding danish
Device says he can speak swedish easy win
he can clearly speak swedish fluently as hes been living there for some years now
device only has to say which angle he is holding so it shouldnt be too complicated
language is very similar but device is fluent in swedish so its not a problem for NiP
the 3 scandinavian nations have a shared culture and languages.
Most of it coming from Denmark as the main part since Denmark is actually one of the oldest nations in Europe. and older then both Norway and much older than Sweden.
Also why the "viking" age most things where just called danes, daneland, danetax and so on. Sweden was not even an idea, and Norway was only beginning to form as one.
So with Denmark as the largest factor in scandinavia and often in control of Sweden and Norway the language spread from that.
And the languages are different, but more so in the terms of a dialect..
Ofc over time they have grown further from the shared point. but still in terms of technical settings, it comes from the same "group" and are just dialects of the same language.
Same as many others places around the world where the same language can sound very different
scandinavian languages are very similar yes
The pronounciations are way different, afaik devve speaks swedish though so shouldn't be an issue
