Certainly better than HK, hahaha. But if you wanna see a really modern city that is still affordable, Shenzhen would be the most famous example. Because Shenzhen was literally a fishing village that was carefully planned and built up, it is not like many other cities which grow organically, thus leading to many issues.

Btw why they choose Shenzhen to be the technological hub of China? Because 20yo ago it was just a vlllage like you said and now it's the second or third tallest city in the world challenged by NYC and HK only

I don't know much of the details, but it was definitely one of the experimental cities for different forms of economical models. Central govt probably wanted to replicate HK's earlier successes but without or lesser of the problems they accumulated now. Basically it was a test bed to see how free the economy can be before being self-destructive. It might also be because it is close to Dongguan, a manufacturing hub especially for electronic stuff, so Shenzhen could be the market for the goods while Dongguan focused on manufacturing. I suspect Shenzhen was also built as a quasi-competitor/replacement of HK, as well as huge propaganda or advertisement to mostly HK but also the world that: "under us, we have controlled capitalism, look how much more advance, better and cheaper this is vs what you have." And indeed I've seen many HK-ers citing Shenzhen as an example or model when looking for solutions to their inflation and housing issues during the political "discussions" during the riots.

That matters. But also the more subjective, "which place is best to live in when you´re young?" A town with lots of options, education opportunities and a good night life. For example the italian town Perugia, which has universities etc, and feels young and energetic with good night life, because of those educations and students, and is also a beautiful town. Oslo may have those things. I´ve only been theres as a child. Norway has one big plus anyway - great nature is always nearby.

Well it depends on a lot of factors. Simply liveability ranking and you’d be right. But personally I’d put Melbourne 1st because it has better weather than Perth and is more developed. I’d put Perth 2nd above Sydney, as it is still great but less stressful than Sydney. Sydney 3rd then the rest are average.

Gee, I wonder why I didn’t saw earlier that travel blog that curious enough supports your point by not acknowledging the fact that Copenhagen appears as a good city because of the country it is located. By itself Copenhagen is a pretty place but that’s it. The article talks about healthcare, education levels, security, etc. Those factors are solely determined by the country’s laws. Don’t get me wrong, I love Denmark, and I’ve been in Aarhus and loved it. But if we talking cities, check Granada or Seville. They have great cultural heritage, best climas in Europe (along with all Mediterranean cities, you know) and much more.

Best climate? Not if you want anything else than warm or to warm.. no snow, no fall or spring like in Denmark. Dont take it wrong, I have lived in Malaga for 2x 6months and loved it. The kinda warm winter is perfect for me as a pro cyclist. But I would not live there full time.

Duisburg is felt 80% full of Rumanian, Bulgarian, Turks and others. you can see tons of reports how they 'destroyed' the city and core parts of it. Germans that bought houses there fell down like 90% of its value in the last 10 years and stuff, because when they're done living in these apartments you can literally only blow up the entire house.

even as a human you can be rich and an asshole at the same time. it doesnt mean it is a nice city just because it is big. and i'd put my hand in the fire that frankfurt isnt rich as well. take a look at #85. i'd rather take munich and hamburg. maybe, really just maybe i'll go with berlin and cologne too.

Just depends on what you wanna do / what you wanna see. In Frankfurt there's basically only the Banktowers / Skyline and you can go to the Main, have a coffee/have a beer, thats it. In all other listed cities you can do much more and see much more. Culture, Nightlife, History etc etc (if there wasn't Corona ofc).

fuck big cities and capitals cities, most of them are overrated asf, they are also full of leftists, full of degenerate people and full of immigrants
2021-04-24 18:22
Yeah, you should travel more! Questionable even in Europe. Where is Vienna, Prague? Even though we are poor here, there are a lot of awesome cities too. Santiago, Rio (yes, its maintence is shit, but one of the most beautiful cities in the world)... There are another great cities from The Andes, brazilian norhteast... And goes on. Hawaii is not a city.

Yeah i mean instead of Frankfurt and Oslo you can place: Munich, Vienna, Budapest or Prague I agree i totally fucked up this list with that Frankfurt pick but i expected more from biggest economic hub in EUnion As for Hawaii yeah i mean Honolulu ofc ^^

Curitiba is better than both cities you mentioned in SA. Saying São Paulo is the best in SA is like saying London is the best city in EU

Well you're comparing ~15 million people city to barely over 1 million Is Budapest really that dirty? I saw some photos of it and it's so beautiful and scenic

foreigners come to fifth distrcit of Budapest and expect the whole country to be like that. Google "Blaha Lujza aluljaro" (blaha lujza subway). Ofc there are many beautiful places in Budapest, but don't be naive.

NA: New York City is a shithole that smells like sewage and the people are rude even though they're almost all poor. Like congratulations, you're poor and you live in a box apartment, and your city smells. Go pretend you're some Jewish banker on Wall Street or some 90s TV sitcom star. Houston deserves more love. It's an industrial city, but they get shit done. And you can actually buy a house for a fraction of the price you can rent a shitty box apartment in New York City. Plus, NASA, oil and gas (actual jobs, not Jewish usury), and tacos. EU: Vienna deserves a much. It's a beautiful city, and the Kalergi Jews didn't overrun it with Muslims and Africans yet. It's still safe and European. Riga deserves some love. The Baltics are really quite lovely, if cold. The women are gorgeous and friendly, the dudes are bros. And the itself is nice and walkable. Plus again, no Muslims or Africans yet. Asia: Tokyo is an amazing city. Kyoto is gorgeous. Hong Kong is incredible. Seoul deserves some love. Honestly OP's only good list was his Asian city list. SA? Who gives a shit. Africa? Who gives a shit. Oceania? Honestly Polynesian girls are fun in bed, and as a white guy you can really clean it up on almost all of the islands. But the cities are all garbage outside of Australia's big three.

I have visited like 30 countries, I have to say I rather live in metropolitan area in Finland than some big metropolitan with 5-20 million citizens. Helsinki metropolitan area has clean air, nature inside the metropolitan area and people doesn't care what is your status.

Sao Paulo is the biggest one in the region, but not that good to go on tourism, is just a big jungle of concrete. Fernando de Noronha, Florianópolis, Gramado, Holambra, Curitiba, Bonito, Porto Seguro are some of better cities than SP
