Razer Viper Ultimate first impressions
Israel Hannibal_Rekter
I've had Logitech G Pro Wireless for about a year and I was super happy with it. Unfortunately in last couple of months it started to develop double clicking which just got worse. So I did some research and found out that Razer Viper Ultimate is wireless and has optical switches. That practically means that it will not have double clicking etc problems because clicking button cuts a light beam which is different compared to traditional button switch. Anyway. I've had this mouse for only 4 days. And first impressions are that I like it more than G Pro Wireless. Recharging is smarter and the shape works better for me. Basically took only 30 mins to get used to this after G Pro because their weight is so similar. So yea. Very happy. Only worry is that Razer is kind of known for breaking hardware, so I wonder if this one lasts for more than a year. I hope so because it was expensive. Thank you for reading. And yea, my fragging is the same as before. Flicks etc work just fine.

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
its razer after all, would give it 1 year at max before it breaks.

Might have got lucky I guess. That said, I did get a razer orbweaver and the surface where my palm rested became covered in glue. Had to put electrical tape over it lol, shit got bad

Does Razer products still require you to use their fucking Synapse shit program? I used to have a few Razer mice, never had any issues with them actually, except the Synapse program would regularly bluescreen my PC.

Hmm yes I installed Synapse and was required. But I think I could uninstall after setting up the mouse. Functioning of the mouse doesn't require Synapse. Changing config does.

My Razer Basilisk doesn't need synapse running all the time unless you want custom rgb lighting.

overpriced and has side buttons on the right, way better wireless options out there

Also one addition. G Pro Wireless has slightly lower lift-off distance then the lowest lift-off of Viper Ultimate. But they are very close to each other, so no big difference.

Glad to hear that you found a mouse that you really like. :) I was considering about getting a Logitech G Pro Wireless Superlight at some point, but the double clicking issue seems a bit alarming.

Yea I think Logitech has overall better build quality. But double clicking is something to consider. I want to say to you that it is not a problem in CS:GO. And for me it only developed after year of using the mouse and it is not serious problem. But I play game called PGA TOUR 2k21. And in that game when I use putter the double clicking became a problem. :D That's how I noticed it. I don't think it matters if you only play FPS games. But yea. You have to consider your options before buying, these are expensive mice.

Yeah I mostly play CS:GO, so I was thinking it would be good for that. Might have to look at some reviews about it and see if other people are already having double clicking issues. :D And I will definitely take my time with this. I currently have a Vaxee NP-01, which is basically just a better version of the Zowie S2. The Logitech G Pro Wireless Superlight should be about the same dimensions and size, but it's also wireless and even lighter so it seems like an interesting mouse. But as I said, I'll take my time with this, since I am not really having any problems with my current mouse. (but it still seems like a good upgrade on paper at least)

It's very ironic and shame that most of the gaming mice that supposed to be "high-quality professional gaming mice" have these shitty double clicking mouse switches and some mice even have other problems like a problematic sensor, sometimes chronic build problems. A Logitech G Pro Wireless is at least 100-115$/€ and you have a shitty "double clicking problem" on 100$ mice, it's very frustrating and shameful on this whole gaming industry. Anyways mens, Razer Viper, and Viper Ultimate are good mice, it's specs were pretty good and has a good shape too and if I remember correctly, it's not a problematic mouse unlike some of the other Razer's mice and products, I hope you will enjoy your mouse!

For that price I would rather buy Logitech G Pro X Superlight

ITT: everyone going off razer’s old reputation everything i use is logitech and i can admit razer makes good products nowadays

+1 very similar Zowie fk style shape which i love, light but not too light at 70g, witeless with good skates and good buttons. G pro has better buttons but shape is worse, and weight 10 grams more which you can feel quite alot. But i still use my zowie fk1 B.

I bought viper ultimate year ago but switched back to g pro wireless just because of shape. I have had 2 deathadders and the quality is trash but viper is actually pretty solid in that area too! Also its better than g pro in every way i can think but i just didnt like the shape cause its so flat. Loved the charge dock. GPW charge wire so trash

can you suggest a mouse that is wireless and has the same shape as a deathadder? I've had the DA2013 for a long time now and quite like the shape and feel.

I had the exact opposite impression. Went from G Pro to the Viper Ultimate and absolutely hated it. The clicks became mushy after some time, the rubbery sides only makes things worse when your hands sweat, the side buttons are not optimally placed (for me at least) and I just didn't feel the same amount of control that I had with the G Pro. I felt like the mouse needed a bit more height and slightly less width. Also Synapse is pure cancer. Now I have the Superlight and this is by far the best mouse I've ever had. It seems like the Viper Ultimate is very hit or miss, you either love it or you hate it. Glad you're enjoying it.
