because they don't have holes? performance > aesthetics

Same shape same hardware lighter mouse will always perform better. Holes make the mouse lighter. You will ask why so let me elaborate here. Because a lighter mouse requires less energy to move and to stop, thus you can be faster and more precise with a lighter mouse.

i wasn't gonna ask why. i wanted to know why he thinks the mouse 'look' dated and my incent would be because the trend is towards holes. Plus nowadays also closed shells are lightweight if not lighter than mice with holes, engineering got pretty good.

I don't think it even is the holes the aesthetic but a more abstract design meaning that mice have sharper angles around the mouse on the edges while vaxee is super smooth looking which would lead someone to believe that the shape is outdated. Also the new Finalmouse Starlight-12 is lighter and stronger than all other wireless mice. They used a different material on the shell to make it lighter and stronger at the same time, sad that they are sold out right now tho.

also, at some point i do think there is a thing such as 'too light' unless you've been in a coma for years and your muscles have completely deteriorated, between 60-80 grams should be optimal

i rly liked the outset ax and im keeping it as a backup for my origin one x
2021-05-03 11:10
had the vaxee np 01 and it wasa great mouse, if you like a wider zowie s2. i claw grip and have 20x11 hands, so it just didnt fit me. but i liked the flat top and ergo side. But everything except the coating (which they fixed for the other mice) and the feet which are a little thin (you can buy an extra pair for like 3 euro) its literally just a perfect mouse for me. buttons, feet, shape(even though in the long run it wasnt comfy for me), cable, all great. theyre not dated, theyre just elitist and dont want RGB effects/useless honeycomb trend shell. the new vaxee outset looks to be basically the ec2 but shorter and taller which should suit the same hand size. you will have better cable thats tilted upwards to not drag, better buttons, better wheel, idk about coating since they have a new one, and potentially a shape that fits you better. its slightrly lighter too. But zowie fk1b > everything else still :l if they'd make a shape like the FK series id buy in a heartbeat.

They get hyped because they are ex zowie designers. The mouse itself is not that special.

Zowie mice where good when they released. They have great shapes, but shit side buttons, feet, cable, heavy and expensive, also the sensor is nothing special anymore. There is no reason to go for zowie atm unless u only want the shape (and there are clones). Pros used them because they didnt need software. Vaxee is just a slighty updated zowie mouse, little lighter, cable a little less stiff and with better pricing, they are decent mice, but nothing to be hyped about. There are lighter options with better cables for the same price, there are better options for different grip style other than palm, there are clones. I am just not a fan of a 80gram non wireless mouse, when other mice offer the same features..

does vaxee need software?
2021-05-03 13:46

No, but neither do mice like the XM1r, or other mice like gwolves etc give u the option, or even safe your settings (dpi, liftoff, report rate, rgb whatever) on the mouse.
2021-05-03 14:15
7 replies
nice i thought only zowie does that
2021-05-03 14:22
Gwolves is trash though, you definitely need a firmware update, good luck finding that online. I get your point about other mice having the same features but an xm1r is just a fairly WIDE mouse that is symmetrical. shape matters alot, it's really the only thing that matters these days since all sensors are top quality and most companies don't use completely trash stock mouseskates / stiff cables anymore
2021-05-07 08:08
5 replies
Gwolves has trash qc in most of their models, some like the reworked Hati-S are fine though and for me its the best shape ive used, though i have small hands. I agree with you on your second point, it was just in comparison with zowie mice which sadly are still stuck in 2018 and miss all those. And sensors only matter if lod is important, then there are a ton of budget mice with 3335s you might want to avoid
2021-05-07 10:31
4 replies
only mouse i tried with 3335 was the pulsefire haste, after some firmware update it was quite decent. i'd never buy a zowie mouse in this day and age given the price is still skyhigh and the features are outdated. completely agree there. I received a sharkoon light2 180 (zowie S2 clone) hands down most spot on mouse i've used in a long time and only 40 euros.
2021-05-07 11:26
3 replies
yeah, i liked the pulsfire as well. I have also tried pwnage ultra custom (ec clone) but sadly their wireless tech is trash and their firmware sucks so lod was fix which wasnt unplayable, but quiet anoying when lifting the mouse sometimes. It really depends on the implementation. I think sharkoon acutally uses the same OEM which pwnage (and some other companies) use, and they are pretty good mice. viper mini and g305 (mb even modded) are great price/perfomance too
2021-05-07 17:11
2 replies
same OEM but i'll tell you right now, quality is out of this world. clicks are crispy and no pre/post travel, same goes for sidebuttons. LOD adjustable and debounce time. Pwnage fckd up the clicks by having those swap sockets which makes it so the buttons wobble. worst part about the mouse is really the cable which is kinda like xtrfy m4, but in a bungee u don't notice
2021-05-07 19:50
1 reply
Ive never tried sharkoon, since their keyboards are kinda trash and i always had the impression they they make decent stuff for the budget but always cut some corners. But that doesnt sound bad at all. Cables sadly is something a lot of companies struggle with, idk if its just price/rnd or also some EU shielding regulations.
2021-05-07 20:18
Yeah this is why i'm a bit sceptical
2021-05-03 12:48
Zowie is nothing special either. They got popular because of their shapes. Buttons and scroll wheel arent really that special on a zowie, or build quality in general. Vaxee just made in my opinion better shapes than Zowie, and with better quality.
2021-05-03 12:52
got a NP-01G right after zywoo done that crazy pistol round against Navi. i cant find a single problem except its not wireless. ez to adapt for zowie ZA and EC users, this mouse is really nice.

idk what u mean by that, its common knowledge that the sensor is so outdated and everyone who got ec2a from like 2016 have the same problem tho

do the shape and grip on the ax feel the same as the ec2a?
2021-05-07 07:35

yea I'd say so or even better. Some people say Vaxee has better grip cause the rear end of the mouse has like a cut out shape that grips better inside the palm

I got a Vaxee NP-01 and I switched from a Zowie S1. Although they are both good mice, the NP-01 is pretty much just a better version of a Zowie mouse in almost every way imaginable. The Outset AX should probably be a better option for you though, if you are switching from a EC2. Here's a comparison of the Outset AX and the Zowie EC2: vaxee.co/eu/feature.php?c=AX_EC2 Hope this helps!

That too! I sadly haven't tried that (or the Outset AX), but I just thought that the Outset AX might be a better option for the OP, if he is planning on switching from a Zowie EC2. :)

depends on the type of cable as well

Plenty of tests shows that you really cannot tell the difference between both of them. Wireless technology has come a long way since then Even the cheap wireless mouse I used last year (g302) was pretty great and I couldn't really tell the difference at all. Now I use a g pro super light and it's an extremely good mouse although a bit pricey imo.
