HLTV new users
 |
Denmark FazeUpAssDown
In order to see if the popularity of HLTV forums has been increasing or decreasing I made a graph of the number of new users registrered per quarter. I did this by using the ID’s and sign up dates that are publicly visible on the site. imgur.com/bB98yet Although 2020 Q3 had the lowest number of registrered users in 6 years, it looks like it’s returning to a very high number. I know this isn’t a perfect statistic to show the popularity of the HLTV forums, but there should be a correlation between the activity and the number of new registrered users. I didn’t include 2005 Q3 and 2021 Q2, since they did not represent an entire quarter. What do you guys think?

Very nice to see this graph. Keep doing things as such, very informative.
2021-05-04 20:39
i think it went up since so many people got 10 yeared and made alts

I thought of that as well, but there's no way they are banning like 5000 per quarter, I think that would be way too much. I have no idea though))

Well, at least new registrered users)) Do you think they are banning several thousand users per month/quarter? I have no idea LUL

yes. if you make an account with the same or similar name to another user it will get banned within a day

Hmmm, how often does that happen though? But you're right, it does have an influence. But from the peak of like 55K+ in the beginning of 2019 to 20k+ in late 2020, there has to be some other factors involved))

Imo 2020 downside is probably because of online cs and forums don't have much to do with it

Manually changed the link until i hit a profile that was made december 31st for example. The profile ID’s are in correct order so it was just a matter of going slightly up or down until I hit the right dates. A weird way I know :D

Incredible work, friend. :) I was inactive for 8 months during the most active year of HLTV in 2019... Bummer. :( 2016, 2017 and 2018 were respectable years but the witch-hunting and baiting was out of control at times, especially in 2018 when I made this: hltv.org/forums/threads/1928561/a-hltv-r.. <-- Martin even replied. <3 Hope he is well. ;) I look forward to the future of HLTV and I guess we will all see where we will all end up one day. :D Hopefully, still browsing HLTV. <3 Have a good day, friend.
