The pitcher intentionally threw the ball behind and close to the batter due to a history between these two teams where the pitcher for the other team hit one of their players with a ball intentionally Umpires set a zero tolerance before the game started for trying to hit players intentionally or miss them closely, and Noah Syndergaard did it anyways
2021-05-08 16:40
The pitcher that did that was ejected from the game and had to stop pitching for the day, that’s why the coach got so mad. He is one of their best pitchers

this video was in 2016, and the year before it the batter (chase utley) broke the mets infielder ruben tejada's leg on a slide play at second base, so the mets pitcher was ejected for throwing behind utley as retaliation for the 2015 slide play

yeah, the slide play with the injury to ruben tejada was in a playoff game and very controversial, they changed the rules around obstructive slides into second base to breakup double plays after that season

2021-05-08 16:46
In the early days of baseball, player-managers were pretty common. Managers wearing jerseys is just tradition now

Let's consider this in terms of the biggest sports: Only nation to win the three biggest sporting World Cups: football, rugby and cricket. Second most total Olympic medals in the world, regularly among the best performing nations at the Olympics, and utterly dominant for decades in many events. The most successful F1 driver of all time, and numerous other all-time great drivers. Multiple elite tennis players, including world no.1 in the ATP era. The dominant Tour de France nation post-doping scandals. Canada's claim to fame? They just about beat the Netherlands at the 2018 Winter Olympics, a country with no hills xD

fewer Olympic medals per capita than us, AND it wouldn't even been close if the winter Olympics weren't a fraction of the size / # of medals as the summer olympics. If they were similar in size you'd surely be getting crushed by Canada + Russia + Norway by now. don't car about soccer rugby cricket dead games rest of those are hardly even sports dutch 45 winter gold, canada 73 winter gold not even sure what you're talking about

reading comprehension?? oh well. mens I literally could not name a single UK athlete past or present beside fucking David Beckham and I doubt most sports fans outside of like the cricket / rugby or whatever fandom could either. From here there are actual bonafide household names in the sports world. Genuine top athletes that dominated their sport. Think: Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Crosby, Lemieux, McDavid et al, Steve Nash George St-Pierre, Lennox Lewis, From a country hardly over half the population of UK...

This is too good - a complete list of nonamers except for Lennox Lewis.... who was born in London and has a British Passport despite competing under the Canadian flag! Ever considered a career in stand-up?
