How much luck is involved in winning pro-games?

We all love an upset, but how much of that is the underdog showing their skill? and how much is just dumb-luck? Because lets do a comparison of NaVi vs DIG, NaVi is obviously the better team and will 9/10 times win, but what needs to happen for them to lose? Do DIG just need to get lucky? Say HEAP just goes insane, more than usual, and drops 50 on one map. Then they win just because HEAP was having a good day, that's just luck. Furthermore, wouldn't the dependence on luck in the pro-scene completely diminish any Team Rankings other than the first like 5? These teams should be the BEST, and the only times they lose are due to the other team getting lucky. But then again, does luck really matter? TLDR; Teams win due to luck, how much does it matter?

try went 75-50 against Vita and won like almost every duel against ZywOo. Everything is possible

The hltv ranking is meant to display the consistency of a team, so it attempts to disregard luck as well as it can. As to how much luck matters I dont think we can really say, but if you take daily form into account then 100% is luck I suppose

you don't need luck if you're good enough but being lucky can win a few rounds (smoke kills, lucky wall bangs, etc.)

pay attention my guy: one team is always more hyped than the other one. eg: team Y just won 3 tournments in a row, and there's an underdog - maybe even playing different tournments - and just getting 2nd place or whatever. but this team have some big potential then these 2 teams fight each other in a semi-final, underdog beat team Y, goes to the final super hyped, and then upset by playing to the max

Luck is important because CS is an imperfect information game, just like poker.

true but not as much as people usually have it usually unlucky timings in CS happen because of previous decisions such as terrorists taking mid on mirage and forcing CT's to watch two different spots etc, that's also skill

anything can happen atm

look at gambots. They have 35% luck, 35% exploits and 30% skill distribution.
