FPS BOOST guide

Albania AK47_Is_Albania_Country_God
I have been struggling for years to get the max fps on my potato and it made me learn all the tricks. So here is a "guide with no bullshit straight to the point" even for people who don't have good PC knowledge. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ First of all make sure your PC power plan is set to performance. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options select PERFORMANCE mode. If you have a Nvidia GPU set it also to performance here is a video explaining all commands and how to do it. youtu.be/9eUdp2x4YhM?t=54 If you have AMD GPU set everything to performance in GPU control panel. Disable full-screen optimizations (Windows 10) ( this one gives me 100+ fps on a 5600x) Right click csgo.exe > Properties > Compatibility tab > tick the “Disable full-screen optimizations” box. (Enabled by default) steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/91691.. Disable: text filter in csgo. CSGOsettings -communication-text filter=OFF Console commands : mat_queu_mode -1 or 2 it enables multicore. Improves fps radically cl_forcepreload 0. (always 0) Remove any csgo launch options related to performance like -high -threads etc. ( They just make your system strugle even more and dont help it) Useful launch options to use : -novid It disables Valve / CS:GO startup screen, the game loads faster. fps_max 400 or 600 _________________________________________________________ Useful bind to add to your autoexec alias "+dynamicToggle" "r_dynamic 0; +attack" alias "-dynamicToggle" "-attack; r_dynamic 1" bind "MOUSE1" "+dynamicToggle" Will improve the stutter in gun fights by a lot. There are also other things to improve your system by overclocking, disabling certain software's/services but this things are a bit complicated and only for "advanced" users. May the fps be with you!

ok i have no way of confirming or explaining this but i lowered my graphics to 640x480 from 800x600, and got around 60ish fps on Mirage. After a couple of days when i switched to 800x600, the fps was around 50, as compared to a 35 earlier. no idea why. give it a shot, maybe it happens to you

Try playing on high settings for a while and then go back to your low settings, might give a small boost. Sometimes the gpu is just being lazy so you have to push it to make it work as intended

It disables windows 10 optimization for gaming ( no one on earth knows exactly) but i can tell that it disables the volume bar when you rise or lower the volume in windows you will get no notification ingame.

I'm planning on assembling new PC soon (mainly for CS) . Ryzen 5600X will be placed so the question is can I even set underwhelming card to delight in playing CS on a decent level when it comes to having pretty solid FPS? I have no wide range of budget-friendly graphic cards (considering that majority of money go on CPU) and I'm afraid of getting potential drops.

I got a 1060 and paired with a 5600 and get 600 fps everywhere. I dont know what card you got but if you play on a normal resolution with most things low will be easy for it to keep on.

It's okay. I'm gonna upgrade graphic card anyway. It's gonna be a PC for cs, so all I need to do is buy 5600x. I have remaining components in my sights and it should be fine imo. Want to grind to carry 10 lvl faceit off, so assembling my pc is my duty. I've been playing on 100 fps all my life so it will be a huge hop.

I've been using fps_max 0 for 3 years now. Tested it a lot, best is 0 to get better input lag and more fps. s1mple said on stream "use fps_max 0 if you wanna be on another level" Elige said on his yt "fps_max 999 for better input lag" fps_max 300 awful one - bad input lag and low fps (this is weird)

What does the r_dynamic bind do? Turning it to 0 disables some lighting through smokes and around edges of the wall while firing a gun, it's easier to spot someone shooting through one way smokes when it is set to 1

Exactly with this bind you got it enable and you got it DISABLED ONLY WHEN YOU PRESS MOUSE 1. So you still see all the lights and stuff when you are not shooting.

FORGOT TO TELL Before to do any of them above test your fps in a map like steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetai.. See how many you get on average and see how many you get after applying any settings change. ALSO IMPORTANT if disabling full screen optimization changes your monitor gamma every time you alt tab here is a fix > Put this in your autoexec with the values you desire and bind it to a key //gamma alias +gammafix "mat_monitorgamma 1.8" alias -gammafix "mat_monitorgamma 1.79" bind F2 +gammafix

alright so i tested the map you mentioned in #29 , average FPS after benchmark i got was 79. After that i did your first step by following the video , configured compatibility of the exec, made the auto exec file and copied the commands there and saved it though not sure if it did load in the game , put those 2 launch option commands and copied those 2 console commands after launching the game and now tested the map again. This time ended up with 117 . Great increase however my fps dipped the same as before when the bomb exploded or i went in smoke or passed through everyone cheering me so thats that. also i got into a Dust 2 casual game and honestly didnt really feel any difference , same 40 fps in the spawn at round start. Maybe i did something wrong or just couldnt notice anything ? I play on 800x600 res

So you had an increase of about 38 fps and the guide made the job, and i imagine you are on 60hz obviously you will not feel much difference. Lock your fps to have less stutter if the max you get is 117 lock them to it.

csgo dev said means absolutely nothing, nothing really makes sense in this game performance wise +csgo devs are mentally impaired maybe it's different on every pc, though I have smoother gameplay and less stutters with cl_forcepreload 1 many pro players have it on 1 so just try both 0 and 1 and see what's better

actual tldr is to buy ryzen 5600x cl_forcepreload 1 is better imo , d0cc has it on 1, fessor also and many others wouldn't mess with mat queue just leave it on -1 and for ryzen users ( this helped me a lot) lock your frequency to a certain number in ryzen master jumping from 3.5-4.3ghz gave me stutters, locked it at 4.25ghz and no more stutters

Boosting fps is good, but the most valueable thing ever was realizing that the timer resolution needs to be exactly 0,5ms. not 0,4988, 0,512 or any other value. Download Intelligent standby list cleaner, set wanted timer resolution to 0.50 and click start. if current timer resolution is not 0,5, this is the culprit of stuttering and a shit feeling game. Disable HPET software side(via cmd) and ENABLE it in bios. Google away if that is not enough to get it to an even 0.5, i dont remember exactly what i set, but its some clock values in cmd and bios. No joke, this fixed all stuttering. Doesnt change anything about your fps, but if you get 200+fps and the game feels shit, this is most likely the problem.

Can you please explain this? What is exactly timer resolution?
2021-05-12 21:41
1 reply
Its the amount of times per second windows will fire an interrupt. Hardware can use those to get priority for low level actions. Stuff like Timers use it as a baseline, so code like Sleep(1) which in theory is 1 ms, is actually 15ms or some other variant. For normal programs or idleing the timer resolution should be default, or you will use more power, but for programs/games that are running at very high fps like csgo(100-600fps) having a lower timer resolution speeds up processes in the background that would otherwise halt the game(for a very minor amount of time like 10ms etc.). If you play alot with high fps and 144hz+ monitor you notice these stop as stuttering. For me it was unbearable two years ago so i tried everything, every fps guide and nothing helped until i set timer resolution to exactly 0.5 and disabled all drivers with high interrupt rate(faulty hardware, bad drivers can cause alot of interrupt request). Use latencymon to check system response time while having the game open in a match and change timer resolution. Look for drivers/processes that use alot of system time and IRQ. try to reduce them. With new and very fast system it might be negligible, but for systems like mine (2014 system, 200-300fps) it made the difference. If its not EXACTLY 0.5 there will again be missalignements and random stuttering, it can actually be worse with 0.498 or other 0. differences, it has to be even. Games and programs can request a timer rate on their own, many request 1.0, which is fine too. Aslong as it actually gets set to 1.0 by the system and not 0.998 or something. Then again, you will have random stuttering. Thats why i just set it to 0.5 which is the lowest possible timer resolution with standby list cleaner and open the program when i want to play a game. Here are some threads: randomascii.wordpress.com/2020/10/04/win.. reddit.com/r/FortniteCompetitive/comment..
