In my opinion this major is any team's for the taking considering recent tournament results, individual and collective player slumps and the fact that there is still a 5 month wait ahead. I get that everyone's fixated on Na'Vi, Gambit and Heroic currently, but each of these teams fluctuate in terms of their performance and there's no certainty that they wont subside during or before the major. Unless you are completely delusional or a very very very confident punter you can not tell me there is a definitive answer as to who will win the major. Also there are some immensely dangerous dark horses/teams that dwindle on the fringes of the Top 10 like Mousesports, OG, Spirit who can give teams a hard time when they feel like it. If I were to have a stab at guessing I'd say Favourite to win - Na'Vi Solid Contenders - Gambit, G2, Furia Darkhorses - Mousesports, OG, Spirit (That is if these teams qualify) **CALL ME A FUCKIN IDIOT IF YOU WANT TO**

That's why I said if I were to have a stab at it. I also said that anyone who has a definitive answer is delusional. I have no fucking who will win.

I would agree. But this is in a lan envrioment and as seen is the past , teams like Gambit who are great but had little to none large lan experience just choke in the playoffs in the major. Best example is Renegades against Mibr. (Katowice 2019)

There is no difference in that. But aren't the playoffs in the stolkhom major gonna get a large crowd?

I think as for now there is little chance considering the covid case in Sweden is not that good i heard imho they just should give murica another major we don't want studio lan we want lan with a crowd

I agree with that . If there is a lan with a massive crowd in the playoffs . Teams like Gambit aren't going to play thier best. With the best example being renegades in 2019 katowice major against mibr at the quaterfinals.

Yeah exactly my Latvian friend :D huge +1 for you
2021-05-16 14:16
tbh even without crowd teams with no experience won't feel comfortable And the best example is recent VP on Singapore major (If you follow Dota2 scene)
2021-05-16 14:18
Valve isnt gonna host a major without crowd, they will rather postpone it again

Please Valve just move it to the murica no hate towards sweden but their crowd is voiceless compared to the murican when Swedish teams are not playing

Did you watch IEM Chicago 2019? Absolutely horrible crowd, either quiet or booing when an European team is playing

Still it was better than any other organized in Sweden and let's be honest no one likes Chicago there are at least 5 better cities to host such a big event and not even talking about Big Apple or LA

You have enemy IRL. And thats alot of pressure dude. Idk if you have been to lan or not. And bootcamp is where you live, you get comfortable but you dont have that much time at a LAN.

But still just a studio LAN will not harm Gambit maybe just makes them slightly more pressured and their only weakness is Grand final finishing

Agreed, with the performance they've been giving recently, there shouldn't be a reason why they wouldn't win it, although they have lost most of their finals for this years tournaments which isn't really a good sign. However their 28 wins out of 36 games is pretty good, no one else has that W% currently (at least what I know of). However, Navi being the favourite isn't that far fetched considering the recent roster change they made, which is honestly a surprise they haven't done earlier. The performance that Navi has given recently with their new addition of B1t to their full-time line-up is way better and consistent as a whole team. B1t maybe less experienced than Flamie but he is much better and can still improve until the majors come around. Heroic imo just need to keep up their form and stay one step ahead of each contender
2021-05-16 14:37
imo I think these RMRs will show who are the real contenders. OG will be barely good enough for top 8 imo. FaZe can be a favourite, but FP3 is starting to feel like the last chance I will give them because there hasnt been a single performance. mouz could also be a dark horse Spirit-NO Furia-does junior get better?

g2 or furia wont win
2021-05-16 13:53
Favourite/s to win - Gambit and possibly NaVi but NaVi won against Gambit just because they got their Kato 2020 momentum and back then also everyone thought Navi gonna set up their own era but in reality we needed to wait almost one year to witness NaVi title campaign again Solid Contenders - VP, Heroic and Liquid Darkhorses - Astralis, G2 and Spirit

Its in october. And we most likely will have some lans before that major. So it depends on form and luck tbh. If I had to guess I would say team like G2 can win. They have been to lan and they actually have everything, firepower, coach, igl.
2021-05-16 13:56

If nexa just drills the fact that Niko can not AWP, and forcefully transitions Niko back to his days of all aim no brain rifling they can certainly be competitive. Yet again, G2's success may be variable on whether or not Niko can maintain his composure and not let his emotions (or ego) get the best of him.
2021-05-16 13:59
Furia is definitely not a solid contender. The way they have been playing lately is horrible and sadly with junior on the awp i doubt they will get anywhere
2021-05-16 14:25
Very unlikely for Gambit and FURIA to be "solid contenders" on LAN
