Smart people COME

So, I have a laptop with a 1050 mobile or something (sry im not a neek) and a 75 hz 1080p monitor connected, I play 4:3 stretched res with i think 1024:768 and all the graphics are pretty much at it's lowest. I cap the fps at 90 so the battery will not decrease while on charge, however there are many fps fluctuations sometimes down to around 40-50 especially when people are rushing a site and when they use utility and that (I am LEM rn so people know how to throw a molly and half my teammates do it). What is the best way to have a stable fps or an fps boost, am I doing something wrong. Btw I am not going to get a new laptop any time soon.

Was it made out of cardboard? My amd rig got bricked by a recent windows update so I’m in the market for a new desktop, and currently using an i5 with a 2060, piggybacking my laptop to a 144hz monitor, and I beat your frames on high. Claiming a certain processor and card setup = x amount of frames is so ridiculous...there’s so many outliers. Are you overclocking? Can you? How much ram? What board? Fans? Drivers current? Msconfig settings? How much memory does the card have?...you can’t just say “this card + this cpu = ‘x’ frames.” I could probably set OP’s PC to easily gain 20-30 more frames, and I think the majority of legit PC gamers could do the same. Idk why everyone’s answer is just “go get a new rig” ... LUL okay. Not gonna give the kid any advice?

no, because I've literally tried everything and nothing helped :) even lowering the resolution didn't boost the frames
2021-05-16 20:27
Nvidia settings all to lowest Play 800x600 Don't cap fps to 90 You will never get stable fps on any setup (unless you cap high-end setups to 300fps or super high end to 400 like most pros) On high end spikes and fps losses won't be as noticeable as in low-end pc (because they are falling from 400 to 300, not from 100 to 40)

yeah but my laptop looses battery on those settings, and I dont play often so I always have to wait for the laptop to like 20% battery before I play so I can play a full game then go out so something. But if I dont cap fps I will have to wait much longer

Even with your charger plugged in? Damn then I guess you need to get new pc man :D Try lowering nvidia settings all to lowest and if needed resolution to 800x600 it will give you at least 20 fps

I know your pain I was playing on 60-100fps for like 4 years on my old laptop Now it's still not the best here but I get average 200-300fps with 144hz monitor with some drop to like 140-150fps sometimes and it's soooo much better to play this game, it's so smooth

experiment with the settings, 1050 mobile should be enough to get stable ish 120 or so. For example for my 1050ti texture quality at medium performers better than at low. Difference of nearly 10/15 fps. With laptops (that's what i assume you have) thermals are not the best and cpu often bottlenecks and therefore drops frames. Cs go at all low settings becomes cpu dependant, u can see it if u use a benchmark map and look at task manager (how much cpu and gpu are being used). By increasing stuff like textures or effect details may "even out" the load, especially against executes, between the cpu and gpu. Try out some stuff and get a feel on what works best.

evrything on low =/= better fps on systems with a competent graphics card and an average cpu. CSGO at every setting low puts too much pressure on the cpu and due to it probably being a laptop, makes it overheat and just straight up slows down/freezes code on cpu level. To POTENTIALLY avoid that, try raising some settings like texture quality or effect quality so the graphics card is used more and takes some of the pressure off the cpu. Experiment with raising some settings and see what gives you more fps

Make sure your laptop is plugged in and uncap the fps or lower your resolution

Dude i have gtx 960m and semi-stable 100 fps. Either you are doing smh wrong or your laptop overheats, then get it cleaned maybe. also turn off your laptop screen, if you are not doing that already

So basically if you have never cleaned it from the inside, try doing that. But not yourself, bring it to repair shop and pay them to do it. It might help. It is also pretty cheap, and you kinda have to do it every so often

Cap your FPS at 76 instead of 90...It’s closer to your max refresh rate and will give you less input lag (which sounds like part of the issue). Change your max acceptable ping (to at least as low as 75). I’d also look into CSGO launch options that will allow your cpu more available ram while playing. That’s just quick easy fixes that could make your ingame experience better. Also look on YouTube for tips on maximizing your ram in general.

I'm a smart guy but leave computer engineering in a place I'm not a PC-enthusiast either. Thank you, now I feel like shit.
