Hello mens)) I'm from Turkey and since there are 2-3 years to graduate from my college, I get more and more worried about military conscription. I'm planning to have a four-year online Politics major to dodge it for a while but I still don't want to have military service at all. Being an objector is also illegal here, we are the only country to do that in the European Council. What can you guys suggest to me to dodge it? I can move to a different country to be a citizen but that's not realistic enough to make plans on.

Dude, I'm an antimilitarist and not a nationalist by one bit. I'll 100% do something to put myself in trouble. War is not my worries(it kinda is but not the point), it's the chain of command and ignorant people.

ignorant: adjective 1.lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated. Some dissing your shithole of an idea doesn't give you the right to make false assumptions. I'm studying a STEM major with a top 2% ranking in my country which makes me far from ignorant. But do you know who is ignorant, fuckers who don't have any quality in life other than "loving their country" and bragging about their stupid patriotism and death machines 24/7. Ignorant people are the perfect soldier material, I am not.

We have same system here and sadly you can’t do anything. Just accept it and go

I'll just hope that the new government(yes, Erdogan is losing ground) will at least legalize conscientious objection like your country so at least I can do a civil service that interests me in the worst-case scenario.

We don’t have the option of alternative service here , the only alternative is 6 months jail. Sad but true

Conscription has nothing to do with fighting your country(but I don't want to fight for my country either, fuck my country). I just don't want to waste 6 months on some useless bullcrap while I can work and gain experience/money. Turkish military can't teach you a dogshit except for washing dishes(which I know) and how dumb the Turkish people are.

Are homosexuals allowed to join the military in turkey?

If you have a dick, you are basically forced. But I think trans people don't go to the military, they are not willing to go to the military anyway.

the brainwash you will experience will prob be the biggest of your worries, i don't think half a year will do much harm to a life long career, it might actually open some doors for you in your country. You can always leave your country to further your career. In your current regime you can't have the cake and it it too, smt gotta give and sacrifices have to be made

Leaving is my option of course. Also, I'm more afraid of putting a middle finger on that brainwash and suffering a penalty. Things like won't go easily over me yet I can be so harsh to anyone who falls to such things, barracks will be a place swarming with such fools that won't hesitate to snitch me. Maybe I'll headbutt a mirror and get a "psychopath" release.

pretty sure it would be very dangerous to do that, for sure someone would snitch on you. And it will be very hard to intake all that propaganda and remain unscathed

Military service isn't that bad you get paid, learn to shoot guns. Honestly I would just do it.

If you want to do it for the shortest period of time, you actually pay here in Turkey. Also, I'm not interested in guns.

But what do you think about Turks in Austria generally? (pls don't consider examples from your personal life) If you have the militaristic spirit, correct me if I'm wrong, I assume you wouldn't like the Turks in Austria too much. Now think of these Turks swarming in barracks and live in a tight chain of command while in their free time talking about their stupid fucking Anatolian bullcrap like how they would die for Turkey and why Erdoğan is actually our saviour?

1. I don't have a militaristic spirit. Basic 6 months military service is pretty chilled after the first 6 weeks of training. 2. Some Turks behave disrespectfully towards Austria (Thats a fact)

Anatolians are even disrespectful towards some people in their own country. They are openly racist towards the Kurds while they call people from the Mediterranean/Aegean region cucks simply because they are more western. Imagine what I, a leftist dude from Istanbul that actually hates his country, would do there?

do you guys send conscripts to the mountains also? or only professionals?
2021-06-13 18:46
1 reply
We do but only graduates from high school or lower are assigned there. That's a part that I'm pissed about military conscription even if it doesn't touch me, rich children of government officials dodge it with fake documents while poor and dumb people are sent with lots of encouragement and brainwashing just to die like shit in their prime years of life.

y u got that european flag when you from turkey. sorry that is not allowed, please remove it.
2021-06-13 18:56

No. I have an EU flag because I like the concept of the EU and when I walk around with the Turkish flag here on HLTV, debating with others becomes buried under stereotypes like Erdogan and Islam. Even if people understand that I'm a Turk, they can have a "not like other Turks" approach.

You should be more grateful imo, you're lucky that you are not living in the Middle East full of western interference and destabilization, like in Syria.

Turkey is surely the best of the Middle East but it still limits my potential I think. The first priority is to stay and build this country for the better but after all "I'm not for the state, the state is for me".
