2021-06-14 13:46
stupid claims, not even from kasper himself. i mean we can tell eriksen affected the players like hojbergs penalty and kasper letting that header go in quite easily. maybe the match should have been played the day after, but they asked what eriksen wanted and it was to finish the game that night. /closed

controversial opinion but i think thats reasonable that once the game is committed to, given several subs, the game is to be completed unless it cannot be done on fair ground (which it could since ingury is accounted for in the rule books)

Yes, your mother or friend having a heart attack before your test and you dont know if they gonna make it, will not affect your performance.

i mean it would, but thats no an excuse to postpone the test imo. its still under fair ground, any thing could happen that may result in a player having lower performance.

What that's not fair, also any test you can retake if something happens, because you worked your ass to get there, same with national teams, also uefa had rules for rematches like if a covid thing happened.

well i mean exams you would not be able to retake, makes sense for a national tournament to be the same. didnt know about the covid thing so i might be wrong actually. regardless i still think the logic makes sense

I think it is as good as an excuse gets. Yes, there are more players to play, but the shock of seeing a friend or colleague nearly dying affects the players too much and therefor undermines the integrity of the game, specially given the precendent of players dying in the field like this, it's a trauma and has huge immediate effects. Postponing the match properly would on the other hand ensure a more fair compromise for both teams.

yeah it is an excuse. i think were the euro schedule not so packed they should have (maybe) redone it. im just arguing with football fans since, no offensive, they get mad at kind of everything any org does.
2021-06-14 14:10
Why so offensive?

i dont think hes being offensive, hes just giving a situation where someone would preform worse because something really bad happens to someone close to them. makes sense he would make it with my mom because it would help me put things into perspective more.

Okay, i just felt he took it personally, I kinda avoid making assumptions of something very traumatic.

yeah perhaps he did. i agree with the avoidance of making assumptions of traumatic things, but it is what it is. have a nice day tho :D

Dupreeh's dad died during the Kato 19 major and he still won the whole thing, playing phenomenally. There can always be things affecting the players outside of the game, but that doesn't mean their match should not be played.

I know there is a schedule but this is fucked, imagine if you was in their position, would you be able to continue playing?
2021-06-14 13:56
i mean even during reanimation u could see uefa officials going outside and talkin to the coaches about playing the game. its a mafia nothing matters but money. they even used the camera directors to stick to capture all this on live tv for more emotions, its sad. football is dead.

Still wondering why i got criticized here because my opinion was that uefa shouldve cancel the game on that day and even on the next day and uefa didnt care. Guess uefa have a lot of supporters in hltv
2021-06-14 14:04
So what do you suggest? They dont play right after, they dont play the day after. They never play? There's a tournament going on. If you're too emotional to play because of X or Y even the day after, then forfeit.

You're talking as if postponing a match would be a brand new thing to happen on a football tournament

To postpone a match more than 2 days in a month long tournament played all over europe? Do you have any example it ever happend?

I dont see a problem to play those 50minutes in the last group stage day , at least give the oppurtunity for the teams to consider what date prefer or even if they want to continue this match

LOL ok. Let teams chose when they want to play. Great idea.

they should have forfeited the match and lost 0-3. that would give UEFA an even worse look

the problem was, it's literally impossible to replay this game. finland went the next day to russia and denmark has all games at home.

If thats true- good decision. What do you think, that whole world (all fans, tv broadcasts etc.) will wait for reschedule because of 1 player? Teams have reserve players for situations like this (contusion, illness etc.). And there are huge money in place. Stop being emotional and think logically. World doesnt spin around you or single football player.

Continuing the game was the best option out of three shit options. But I am not even mad, it's hard to see what other options might be without completely fucking up the schedule...
