you have some advantages but also big disadvantage with high ping. I use this to my advantage despite the disadvantage.
Swedish internet goddamnit
Not the first time I've heard of ~60 ping being optimal on quake engine games, I did read the source engine hitreg/lag compensation documentation once and I didn't specifically see anything about higher ping advantage. The advantage you described does make sense to exist tho.
BTW above maybe 30 or so ping players use cl_interp_ratio 2, I believe because it sort of amplifies the "peeker's advantage"
I mean you can abuse higher pings by being the one always peeking, not holding angles, etc.
You can certainly make it into an advantage if you know what you are doing
You silvers will make any excuse to justify losing
30-60 ms "high ping" lol my average is around 80. I would say that there is no difference from 1 ms to like 90 ms.
Yes gambot got to good abusing this.
are you kidding me
are YOU FUCKING START CRY BECAUSE U HAVE 5 MS IN EVERY CSGO GAME, ARE YOU FUCKING MENTAL, HOW MANY TIMES I HAD 45 MS AND MORE, AND STILL PLAYED, YOU MUST BE DUMB IN THE BRAIN, IF YOU THINK 5 MS IS BAD
Personally, playing with the ping of 20 is way better than 60.
Playing with high ping and packet loss is bad af, at least when you play with a rifle.
When I'm playing with a sudden packet loss I usually grab a scout / awp.
High ping is good for peeking, when LAN comes back CIS teams won't be as good
+1 tbh I usually have between 5 and 20 ping and kazakhstan kids with 100+ping just ferrari peeks me all the time and i dont even have time to react... but when I play vs people with lower ping its easy
