Thorin on Gambit at Major and possible burnout
South Africa LustedSilli - HLTV.org
Duncan "Thorin" Shields has taken to Twitter to talk about the number one team in the world, Gambit, and the Stockholm Major starting in October this year. Thorin states: "The major is still a long way away and Gambit will have to deal with inexperience and potential burn-out." Source: twitter.com/Thorin/status/14047347548560.. Yes, this is the "online era" and yes, the Stockholm Major will be a LAN event. There has been a lot of discussion about Gambit on LAN. So, what are your thoughts on this opinion? Do you think Gambit will face potential burnout from all the online tournaments, and how do you think they will fair on LAN. PS: Let's keep this civil and on topic.

Good thing for them is that they can warm up into LAN because the first ones will be without crowd

Thorin is based. Nothing false in what he said yet people will still find a way to get mad.

Yes and no.Gambit rn is looking really good and bad at the same time. They are winning every duel like liquid 2019 but they are also playing scared. When interz, nafany or axile move around you can see a lot of thinking they make a move and while they are doing it they think its wrong

Have you not watched any of their games or do you just not understand CS? Your statement is not true at all.

+1 I think the lan effect argument is a bit overblown. First they will play in closed Arena, then in front of public. All the players will have to adapt again to the lan pressure.

scared? Axile and nafany literally rush into site holding w exact time the flash pops. Wdym scared?
2021-06-15 11:57
I think navi is more scared of gambit than gambit of anyone:D for now, how is gambit playing scared? u mean they are "scared" cz they clear their corners and play methodical cs where they dont leave much space for randomness?

I have huge confidence that they will prevail and win the major, but that seriously depends on whether or not Ax1Le and sh1ro can keep up the high level we've seen so far.

I see them losing in the semis to a great lan team like Navi/G2/Astralis/Vitality in a close match. but you can never know maybe they will be even better on LAN, i legit can't wait to see cologne)))).

The only thing for vitality is how will kyojin adapt to LAN - he seems more of an improvement by experience type - I do think G2 will be the obvious danger team on LAN though

Probably not - IEM fall finishes October 10th and that gives them 13 days to prepare for the major since they are unlikely to be at the showdown (because too good) Pressure may be a thing but by then they may already have a LAN or two under their belt and all teams feel pressure anyway - gambit are the type of team to steer forward in those moments compared to some European teams who are S warriors kkkkkkkk and since some no eye balls people call them simply "aimers" - LAN plays in their favour because of no latency In short - I'm right, as usual))

Thx for the take on this :)

yeah gambit core has played some minor lans as teens but the biggest part of their success on lan could be hobbit who hasnt only played but won a major and he is the second caller in the team which could really help out the inexperienced guys

Faze win the major. Olof too good. Karrigan too good. Twistz too good. Rain too good. Broky is ok too.

I think Gambit players know what are they doing without another dubious analyst
2021-06-15 13:11
It's been 1.5 years without a LAN, literally everyone will feel the same pressure and will have to adapt again.
