Brazil for wealthy people. -Best weather -Prices here are low if u exchange dollar ou euro to real, so u can get anything here -the more money u have here the lower are the taxes u pay -If you're wealthy u can live in the most luxurious and safe neighborhoods and cities in the country such as Águas de São Pedro, Balneário Camboriú and some really good neighborhoods in São Paulo like Alphaville, Itaim Bibi, Higienópolis, Jardins etc.

Rich people in Brazil lives in a pararel universe. Private schools, gated communities, private beaches, completely segregated neighborhoods... you would never see a rich girl walking down on a "regular street", that simply does not happen. It is like they live inside a freaking bubble, no connection whatsoever with the "real Brazil". They perceive, and treat the rest of the population as slaves/employees.

lol what I studied in a traditional private school here in RJ, lived in a good neighborhood and your statment is crazly false Once I was robbed twice in a week (one the dude was with a gun) Most of my friends were also robbed what you are saying is like top 0.001% rich people

There is no escape from the "real Brazil" in Rio. Where you from Barra, Leblon? Also, being rich/wealthy is not the same as being (upper) mid class. But again, there is no escape from violence if you are from Rio, as the favelas are very close to the "good" neighborhoods. Something that does not happen in places such as Alphaville in SP, where you have a completely segrageted and planned neighborhood. I've never been robbed, nor my folks, nor my brothers, nor my wife, nor my closest friends...
2021-06-16 04:06
in Rio there's no difference security wise in any neighborhood. The only place u know ur not gonna AT LEAST get robbed is inside the favelas bc of the factions legislations (but u can die by many other ways inside the favelas). All the robbers from the favelas and poor neighborhoods go down to the rich places to steal tourists or rich ppl like in Copacabana, Ipanema, Barra, Leblon, Botafogo etc.

Malta has a lot going for it as does Italy, but living there as a permanent resident is not for me. I like it here in Denmark, but I think any of the Nordic countries would do fine and I also think lots of other places are good ie. most of the EU countries, New Zealand, Australia and several places in Asia should also be good. Still it is hard to compete with what we have here in the Nordic countries.

Liechtenstein. High salaries, low taxes, thriving economy, low crime, clean and safe area. Prices for living are steep but I just go to Austria (20min by car) to buy much cheaper groceries. It's in EWR (unlike Switzerland) so we get lots of benefits they don't get. Edit: EWR = EEA in english God tier currency with the swiss franc.

Very generous tax threshold compared to other countries, + no VAT. We have sales tax instead which ranges from 0%-7% depending on state. That is why Iphones and GPU's and shit are always cheapest in america. There is even tourism based around getting cheap goods in the US and then bringing them back home to scalp.

It's fine to think one country is better than another. My issue is with all these europeans (mostly Scandinavians) preaching their idealistic vision of america becoming a welfare-state. Calling us all stupid and "corrupt" because we don't adopt the same system they do. They've been brainwashed by idiots like Bernie Sanders into believing that its actually possible. You're never going to convince average americans into believing that paying more tax is for the greater good.

Yeah I agree with both points They think Scandinavia is some kind of magical utopia, where everything is perfect As well as I'm pretty scared that there are actually young people that think people like Bernie Sanders should be future presidents. Socialism never goes right

Nah, it's just another one of the social darwinist Americans who thinks that everyone should lick our boots because our ancestors were on the winning side in a couple wars. There are a lot of em, a bunch of historically ignorant quasi-fascist nationalists in this country who self-congratulate for shit that happened two generations ago. Thankfully some of us are a little more aware than that

Oh men. An intelligent being on America. Nice to meet you! Also remember your ancestors aren't even Americans. You country doesn't even have 250 years. But apparently this doesn't stop your nationalist compatriots from idolizing America. Have a nice day, notbrainwashed American.

It Isn't just about our success in WW2. We have well over a thousand military bases outside of the mainland, we control the world economy, we control almost every vital industry in the world, and we have every 1st world nation as an ally. Our only adversaries are 3rd world countries, that's no coincidence. The US is an empire by definition. So when people from irrelevant countries like Denmark or wherever preach to us about how much better they are, it tends to sometimes initiate an aggressive response. Personally I just like to point it out because they take our existence for granted. When you think about it, everything that enables people to live a modern lifestyle exists because of our history and presence currently. I just like to put it in perspective for them. I always laugh at the guaranteed "but US healthcare sucks" whataboutism response.

"The US is an empire by definition. So when people from irrelevant countries like Denmark or wherever preach to us about how much better they are, it tends to sometimes initiate an aggressive response." Haahhaaha the cope is real. You're nowhere close to being an imperie outside of your deluded head. Keep sitting in your basement jerking off to shit you had nothing to do with. At least in my country people can live without being apporached by a homeless insane person every 30 minute.

It's clearly you who is coping. The US is an empire by definition. The negative stigma around the word "empire" is the only reason we dont call ourselves one. Look up the definition. Here's a good book on the subject: amazon.com/How-Hide-Empire-History-Great..

You don't rule anything outside of your own country. You think having military bases around the world that do absolutely nothing means you're somehow an empire? The united kingdom was once an empire, colonizing the entire world one country after another. USA? not so much, not even close.

I don't know much bro, I've only lived in two places in the UK. London is like the busy area, it's kinda overrated but still very nice to live in, so much to do especially with friends , prices are expensive though. It's also very diverse Bristol, Portsmouth has a nice night life and really enjoyable even by yourself without friends. Brighton is a chill colourful area, just on the coach. Bath and York have nice infrastructure and are pretty. Oxford and Cambridge both hold a lot of culture and elegance. They also hold the top 2 best public institutions in the world. That's all I know, there are plenty more though

eh, you're probably right then. I really only use ourworldindata for sources most of the time, because they hold such a vast farrago of resources, and it's all kept in one place, which is convenient. But, I can concede and accept that the UK don't really have the lowest homicide rate, after looking are your sources. Still, it is pretty low, and not a cause for concern.

1. It is democratic authoritarian. Government has more power, but people can express their point of view. Rather than rioting people offer solutions and government implement them. Authoritarian government where politicians are not corrupt and they work for people is way better than corrupt democracy 2. Population is less happy because everyone is competitive. Everyone wants to achieve more than what they have. You will always find someone who is more successful than you in Singapore and people become jealous because of competitive culture. 3. Press freedom doesn't exist because different cultures of people live in Singapore. There have been multiple race riots before and government don't want that to happen again. So, they control what media can show to citizens.
2021-06-16 03:16

You are correct on the second point, but your defence for 1 & 3 is pathetic. "Democratic Authoritarian" can be said (but not with a straight face, such is the bare-faced cheek of such a contradiction in terms) about the regimes in Syria, Chad, Zimbabwe under R.Mugabe, Uzbek, Kazakh... Multiculturalism is no excuse to restrict press freedom, and quite frankly the excuse is a total non sequitur

France more third world than the nordics? Bru, all the EU countries are first world and you can do a good living on most of them, in some places you earn more, in others you have more social aids but more taxes...but at the end, if you studied a bit and have an average job it's ok, it really depends on what you want or expect, you're not going to earn the same on Sweden than Portugal, but there's a life balance that could do better for you in one side or the other.

Outside of Italy I'd go with Botswana +speaks english +one of the richest countries in africa +least corrupt country in africa, beats out belgium +very peaceful have not been in war since independence +beautiful nature - one of the least densely populated countries

I'd say Moscow is way better than 80% EU countries, but it cost the life of a whole country

+1 Pulau Penang was amazing. And usually I dont like big cities but Kuala Lumpur was very nice. My favourite SEA capital. Only thing bad was the weather. Too hot for me lol.

+11111 malaysia is so underrated, one of my absolute favorite countries. Incredible people, incredible food, incredible country overall. Haven't been to much of the country sadly, but my favorite place was 100% Langkawi, and just like #381 said, Kuala Lampur might be the best SEA capital.
