I actually studied french for a couple years but I'm pretty bad, there's also a bunch of french people living in Israel. The accents are a bit similar so french people usually have a really pleasant sounding hebrew accent imo

In English there are about 5 commonly used tenses, in French its well over 20. Plus the tenses in French vary far more than English in terms of both spelling and sentence structure. Then you factor in irregular spelling and pronunciation, which is hundreds and hundreds of words. On top of that you add a handful of grammar rules not really present in other languages. French is a pretty shite language, just very very complicated. Most French speakers do not even have a perfect mastery over it.

Stop crying for 2 min, french is not that hard. It might be harder than english but in comparaison to german, dutch, or russian. It's not harder than any other language. The only factor that really have an impact is the language you're comming from. If it's a romance it's gonna be easier than a germanic base language

Morocco is literally a former french colony and french us taught in schools since 2nd grade. I have absolutely no use for it and all the shit i do in a foreign language is in English. French is impractical and unnecessarily complicated to be fit for global science research. What you described ( ONU?) is a very niche case. Anyway i get that you're french and want to defend it but the truth hurts and you just gotta accept it
2021-06-16 22:09

No because we have the same way to think that french isn't even use nowadays compared to old times. But I'm also surprised to see that: French is as you said complicated (for dumb at least) and because It is rich scientists used it because more accurate than English. French is the second most used language in international relations. And ONU is UN, and UN basically represents all of the international institutions in this world. So, yes french still used. And I don't know your job, but surfing on hltv all day long and therefore using English doesn't prove anything.

ONU is just the french branch lmao. spanish, Portuguese and even german far surpass french in terms of global speakers. just cope with it bro french is irrelevant and will continue to be so. nothing to do about it
2021-06-16 22:27

Ok so you have your first argument: Spanish and Portuguese surpass french in terms of global speakers... Bcs German is not surpassing french and german is not used in international communications But numbers don't do anything about the power of language. Why? Cuz look at arab, 375M of speakers, wow incredible, but nobody care, cuz those country are poor, and the only rich country like to speak English or even french like Qatar, UAE, saudi arabia... So, yep Spanish is way more speakers (and not by a lot actually) than French, but SA is poor, and Spain... Is Spain... So nothing to do. France has the second-best diplomatic link in the world. I could tell you more and more about how France is factually by stats and reports the second most used language in international, but you will just say: i don't use it or Spanish is more spoken than french that's will be all.
