One of the dumbest comments I've ever seen. You might as well call a GTA story mode repetitive if that's how barebones you describe everything.

Compared to his definition of Yakuza it's fair And honestly it's literally what you do for 99% of the game Well walk around is like 50%. But what makes games special is when you make something out of that, when you roleplay the story, or use a different weapon etc. Also if that is one of the dumbest you must have used HLTV for less then 30 minutes, at most.

But you could do that for 90% of games that come from the rpg genre

Story is a good mix of fun and seriousness, it often goes into dark/inclusive themes without pandering and looking like a SJW fan-fic, I agree they work hard to make stuff seem low budget but the characters and writing usually make up for it, it's a game that really takes it time with stuff that otherwise would seem menial but the buildup usually pays off.

I have played yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon. The combat of the first one can be a bit repetitive, but the story was interesting. The like a dragon is better with jrpg style combat I have not played the others only that two, but I definitely recommend Like a dragon

Well, you don't really have any good 3d beat 'em ups, so there's that at least. A lot of people play it for the minigames and sidestories, believe it or not, they usually contrast to the main story in terms of tone and seriousness of what's happening. So if you wanna just go around and beat up bad guys that game is not for you since it will become repetitive sooner or later, especially if you have 1 character or fighting style as you do in some games in the series. Basically, you do some of the story, do some stupid shit for fun like substories, karaoke, old arcade games, mahjong, shogi or maybe some card games. If it sounds like a waste of time then that's just not your cup of tea I suppose.

you know i come from the SNES time. in the past i had several consoles and handhelds. one of them was the PS2 but with a chip in it, which you could play games on a burned DVD. at that time, i played yakuza 1 or 2 on japanese. that game flashed me so hard that i couldnt stop anymore. that was the competitor to gta 3. when yakuza had all these fun minigames and substories together with a packing story and a lively world, gta 3 were in comparison boring. since then, i still play the yakuza games and i like the developers which bring that efford to continue to work on this series and bring many fun moments. and i was hella excited that they bring this playstation exclusive finally to the pc. that made me happy. young people like you wont understant this. you grew up with fortnite.
