nah, Valorant is more relevant internationally than CS right now. The esports equivalent of the Super Bowl is CDL, without a doubt.

Dunno I’m not american but football is just really boring for me. 22 millionaires running around punching a ball… But what I don't understand to the highest extent is why football is so political. Everyone is always rooting for their own country and when someone wins there are 100 threads on how country X is better than country Y. It’s just a game…

This is the concept of sport in team, in all sports there are teams that represent their country, even on CSGO, it is impertinent what you say. I could say the same for CS:GO, millionaires clicking a mouse... I'm telling you and that I don't even watch football football is above all the sport of the people, you may not have known that in your country but in general we all played soccer as a child, a ball and our school bags or jacket as goalposts, that's why it's so popular

In csgo there is no such thing and the people that have a french flag and support a french team are usually considered delusional fanboys. But in football it’s the norm. I never understood the affection people feel for teams from their own country. I mean, yeah, you were born in the same place. Yeah, they are representing your country. But even if they win, what the hell changes? It’s still just a game. When it comes to countries, the only situations in which I see a reason to celebrate are, for instance, when the minimum wage is increased, or when some other important bill that will change things for the good is passed. But rooting for my country in sports? Why would I do that? It’s just a game, there is nothing political in it. I tend to support the teams that I enjoy watching the most or teams that have the most interesting story/personalities instead of teams or players that are from my country. And yeah, I understand why football is so popular but personally I don't like it

No no, it's you and you alone who are not in the norm, the majority of people will support a team from their country and it's normal, if the majority of Americans supported Cloud9 at the time for example it's not for nothing, it's human and I don't see the connection with the French. Patriotism is not a social construction leftist, it is natural to like what we like and represents us like the majority of Ukrainians who support Navi and S1mple. I don't give a shit about the personality of a guy who clicks on a mouse or a guy who as you say runs behind a ball, I prefer to watch a documentary about space it's much more interesting, so for sports it's indeed the team that represents the country that interests me.

I don't think I’m alone but yes, it seems like I am in the minority. Dunno how to explain it. I guess I’ve never felt the sense of patriotism. When looking at my country, I look at it like I look at Uruguay or Zimbabwe or any other country. I’ve never supported people from my country solely because they are from my country, maybe navi for a little while back in 2010-2011 but that was because they were an extremely like-able team overall, so I don't suppose that counts. I guess I consider myself an individual first and only then a Ukrainian, a white male etc. Wouldn't say it’s bad tbh. At least I’ve never felt biased towards my country in any way, it’s good to keep a clear mind when judging what’s right and what’s wrong. For your last paragraph, I dunno man. I only watch cs when it comes to sports/esports and I care about all aspects of it. While a documentary about space is indeed interesting, I see nothing wrong in watching professionals play your favorite game. Also, I am not a leftist. Can't see where you got that from tbh :/

I understand your point of view and I respect it. A group of humans sharing the same geographical location, the same culture and the same language I find it "beautiful" personnaly, in any case I see nothing wrong with that. Even if in my country we don't really have an identity anymore and we a meelting pot in the American way. In reality I am not even patriotic because that my country disgusts me but it was just to react on the patriotism in itself.
2021-06-18 10:35
In my country, the people who want to deconstruct everything that makes a country are usually from the Left, that's why I thought you were
