tbh it kinda was, I can't remember any other major where he and his team were true rival to any other team maybe cluj napoca 2015 but during that time period both envyus/navi were more favorites to win cologne 2015 they got also rekt by envy

Cologne 2015 was far from a rekt. They played good CS and on a good day could beat envy easily. MLG Columbus 2016 kind of similar. They were just known semifinal chokers, with bad psychological game. Boston was definitely his biggest chance, but definitely not the only one.

Yeah that inferno vs navi at mlg was an oof at 14-14

TSM was the favourite in cluj napoca, absolutely the best team before the major

whats FaZe lmao
2021-06-18 23:17
He had his best chances on old FaZe and old MOUZ, he will definitely win a tournament with this new roster, I believe but a major is pretty unbelievable
2021-06-18 11:20
Nah. Karrigan won't win anything at this point. His career is pretty much over and he knows it, everything from this point on will just be a footnote in his achievements. Winning a major is for young, ambitious and talented players - none of which can be applied to Karrigan lol

This guy has been the captain of some of the best rosters in csgo history and wasn't able to win a major with them. There is a reason for that. He is not major winning material.

Crazy isnt it, honestly crazy. But ive said this for a long time, doesnt matter how good or bad you are individually, esp in the past, it was way more about team synergy than raw skill.
2021-06-18 22:07
Except he made those rosters not only joined ready material.

That's true and he is a really good team builder and prob coach as well. But his style of ingame leading is just not solid enough. He is relying so much on spawn based pocket strats and timing smoke pushes. It's never gonna work long term. Every game you have this 1 round where karrigan snucks through a smoke behind enemy lines and gets a 4k for his team and all of a sudden he is some kind of 200iq csgo god. But noone seems to talk about the fact, that he attemps this play every second round and 3 times out of 4 he just dies without refrag potential and leaves his team in a 4v5. And why on earth is he so often the solo site anchor (e.g. mirage b site)?. He definitely is not as bad a rifler as most people say he is. If you ask me he is a pretty good rifler tbh. But not nearly as good enough the just hold a site on his own. His midround calls are often just borderline stupid, because he relies so heavily on early information and good spawns, it's just terrible to watch.

You talk about not being able to work long term yet he is most consistent igl we have. In top10 teams he called since 2015 and he made 3 strong teams since and always his style of calling worked. Maybe whyhecant win major isint on his shoulders? Iwould say that Robban is not nearly enough as help as he should be.

He will get dropped by faze, to seek new challenges under the Hyenas banner, where he finally wins a major trophy and gets awarded the major mvp medal after dropping 45 kills in regulation on the final map. Total redemption story incoming, stay updated

I honestly dont see it. I kinda feel bad for him because I rate him as a IGL but as of now it seems like leaving mouz was a horrible decison. He had the connection with ropz, frozen was already in a really good shape, bymas performed in a good way and had a few insane clutch rounds and acor just joined the team and looks promising (keep in mind that there was no strat calling for acor to have some freedom and go for aggresiv entrys) Now he has to start from 0 again and it doesn´t seem to work out...

His last best chance was with the Mouz roster but he choose to go after money and rely on old guys in Faze, look how that's turning out. His opportunity is far gone.
2021-06-18 22:01
Nope. he has to step up his own game to make it possible

Seeing the level he got faze to in 2018 I'm pretty sure he'll be able to do it again either this major or the next. although that will be after faze make some roster changes.
