Low tier casting. This is what happens when you put two play by play casters together.
Nexa wallbangs electronic from hut and niko hears hit from vent so they confirm one player is there and the casters don't even mention this important detail. They don't even mention that niko saw s1mple going on the right vent by strafing from the ladder so they basically had full info and their retake worked flawlessly because of that.
i dunno ofc i dont like everything they will ever say or do to pass time during one of the hundreds of maps they cast a year, but generally they have good chemistry together, spunj is one of the few people who knows what hes talking about and is genuinely able to transmit excitement, and machine is just a very good pbp who manages to avoid cringe for the most part even during downtime and also understands the game very well.
I actually always liked Henry though. I like his voice and the way he talks
Sadokist can make everything interesting and captivating tho (ex. youtube.com/watch?v=jKvnGZ0IN8I)
I completely forgot about ddk and James, but I still personally prefer Anders & Semmler
semmler has been watching this game since its inception and probably other iterations of cs before this, there is just no excuse for the bollocks he talks on a regular basis imo, and i dont see this with machine for example.
anders knows a lot more about the game but he usually doesnt get excited anymore about the games and when smth exciting happens he has to somehow go from 0 to 100% instantly and create some fake hype out of nothing, imo his pacing is really slow and often very poor.
It seems that its 8-17 job for him, he doesnt care at all, doesnt enjoy the game, he makes ton of filler empty phrases vaguely describing what happens, sometimes tries to hype but fails miserably, etc, etc, etc. Just terrible caster
He's actually terrible now, you're biased with nostalgia.
Yes, he was casting legendary moments, but that gave him fame so he doesnt care anymore, his name is enough to get him hired.
Obviously he's aware of that, and puts 0 effort in casting, he knows he doesn't have to put in effort
Oh lol, I just read the full thread now. Apologies, I just thought you were simply saying they are bad casters.
I agree that Anders and semmler are not as analytical as Spunj + Machine or Launders + Scrawny, sure. They don't catch all the nitty-gritties, as you pointed out. I just think they rely completely about talking us through the round, and hyping up the most important moments. I am not saying that a caster needs to be as proficient as an analyst, but a little more knowledge would have been better.
I find them to be quite entertaining and they have amazing synergy. Personally I don't need someone analyzing every the game in detail while i'm watching it, I can do that myself. Nobody listens to the casters (or the analyst desk for that matter) and takes notes. Honestly, I don't even need casters to enjoy the game. Often I just listen to music instead. Never with Anders & Semmler though.
