FIVE TEAMS that won't be GOOD on LAN
 |
France Haibara
5. Spirit Team Spirit has never had a boot camp with their current roster. In fact, I don't even think degster has met the rest of Spirit teammates in person. It will be very rough for this already-under-performing team to show up on LAN with a good performance. 4. OG OG removed their "glue on LAN" for flameZ because they want to have better results online. It is obvious that without ISSAA, OG will not be good on LAN because they don't have their glue anymore. It will be difficult for them to replicate their IEM Summer performance. 3. Mousesports Mousesports just had their first boot camp and they lost to Ence (hltv.org/matches/2349589/ence-vs-mousesp..), this is not a good sign since they will be in similar environment on LAN. It is also unknown how the team dynamics are working since they literally just met each other in person on bootcamp and are having a bad showing. Despite Flashpoint 3 success, they also did not show up in IEM Summer or Blast Spring Finals, also with rumors of ropz pursuing leaving mousesports actively, it is safe to say mousesports will be not good on LAN. 2. Natus Vincere As much as we want to say how good NAVI is on LAN, because of their IEM Katowice 2020 victory over G2, and s1mple/electronic being two of the best players on LAN, that was over 1.5 years ago. s1mple has never played LAN with NAVI, in fact, s1mple never even showed up to bootcamp with NAVI because he lives in Kyiv and NAVI is located in Moscow afaik. If you paid attention to Tonya's interview with electronic, electronic said playing at home he lost a lot of motivation, electronic is also a 22 year old father and he needs to spend time with his family and playing on a team schedule will be very tough for him. Electronic also admitted to turning into an "onliner" in the same interview. With Boombl4 also struggling as IGL, I am confident NAVI will not be good on LAN. 1. Gambit Gambit never played in any LAN event as a team, Gambit Youngsters only had minor LAN experiences in Russia and they were absolutely awful back in the days. There's no reason that can support the claim that Gambit will be good on LAN besides the fact that they are the best online team, which means very little to me or anyone for that matter since all Valve-sponsored major must be held on LAN, and most CS:GO players that do not actually follow HLTV only care and watch the major LAN events.

Even if Gambit arent as good as they are now its literally impossible that they return to LAN and cannot maintain a top 10 position. Idk what these peopel on HLTV are on about. Gambit dont even play the online style of CS lmao

Gambit literally just exploiting high CIS ping (100 ping for Hobbit) which makes peeking a lot easier in my opinion, their entire playbook is based on getting opening picks from Hobbit or Ax1Le Mark my word, Gambit won't be top 30 on LAN

They arent actually that mechanically talented compared to alot of pros though. Look at players like Yekindar. He is much more likely to fall of on LAN than the Gambit lineup
2021-06-24 05:21
Other than the fact they literally never played a mildly important LAN event ever? You think it is completely normal to come out of tier3 and start banging out the best teams out there like its no tomorrow? Sure, they most likely wont completely choke at every LAN but it is very unrealistic to expect them to be just as good as they are online in the semis or finals of Cologne for example.

not sure how i feel about this. Only difference in LAN and online is the ping and the audience. 4. ISSAA was sure a great player but flamez is also good. There is no guarantee that they'd perform bad 3. Ropz activity was sus. He did seem like leaving mouz. But i doubt they'd perform that badly because if ropz does bad, it'll be harder to find a good team 2. Maybe simple seeing his team in person affect his gameplay, even better maybe 1. Im sure gambit can do it. People saying gambit doing good only bcs of online era are just ad that gambit owning their fav team

Na'Vi should be able to go back to LAN rather easily. Gambit and Spirit I can see falling off. OG and Mouz both are combined teams of vets and newbies, so they should do fine. Heroic is probably going to drop a little, but the team that's going to do the worst on LAN compared to online will be Akuma.

i think navi is going to fall off like heroic if the coach is not allowed to talk while in game. I read something/a caster mentioned it? that blade is being talking and helping with the IGLing on online in the tournaments that allow it (which i guess is the majority outside of rmr).

They could just try to grind a lan bootcamp with everyone before cologne and ggs. Don't see that being a problem (which is what they used to do)
2021-06-24 06:17
burgha it is very logical if u have brain bootcamps were created in order for players to elevate their game and s1mple with elec do not really need to sit down with the coach and analysts to elevate their game to a new level, instead team needs them to just play their regular game and the best way to ensure this is to let them stay in the most comfortable zone while bomba, perfecto, bit/flamie really have to elevate

what lack of practice, do u really think that a top player is lacking practice? they train every day for at least 6 hours as a team, add individual practice as well do not forget that the reason why elec is in navi is that he is a lan player
2021-06-27 16:22
They had two bootcamps. One where they played the whole tournament but s1mple and electronic went home during the tournament to play from home, only perfecto, boomand flamie were left. The second one was before dreamhack only for practice. They all played the tournament from home.

G2 won't even make semis when lan starts. Enjoy the semi final run while it starts. Frankly there are a far more chances of G2 falling off slowly to their early-mid 2019 level given their continuous failure to win a trophy is kind of getting on the players nerves. Before long this will become a niko show and then it will be on par with last year's faze.

NAVI struggle in all valve sponsored events, because b1ad3 isn't allowed to call unlike other events. Same will happen on LAN. Boombi4 isn't capable of IGLing.

My proficiency in the English language is levels above yours U said that boombl4 is not capable of igl bla-bla idiot talk, and in order to prove that bombla is bad igl u used simple quote where he said that blade missing in the teamspeak was a problem for them during the rmr, thus history will repeat itself on the valve events but ur micropeni5brain is not capable of apprehending that during the event that the quote refers to coaches were not allowed to speak even during tactical timeouts which is not the case for valve events, therefore blade will be able to make small adjustments and help bombla when needed /closed /opened /rekt /closed

Spirit will probably be the best on LAN out of those 5 teams.. anyways, which teams do you think will be good on LAN then?

No way Spirit will be the best on LAN out of those 5 teams tbh. However, as I can see a lot of ppl calling them onliners and coming back to LAN cycle will be a nail in Spirit's coffin. I disagree (not taking into consideration the fact that I'm a fan of Spirit) just because I think many ppl forgetting that Spirit have 3 experienced and savvy players in the ranks. Chopper, sdy, mir, these guys have been at scene for a long time, not mentioning they played plenty of high tier LANS (including Majors). Magixx at his first T2 LAN event at the age of 16 without lan experience looked like the calmest player I've ever seen in my life, he was just bhopping and going wild in every aim duel. When it comes to degster - no idea what will happen with him. He's already underperforming for a like 2 months during online era so I don't know what we can expect from him. Maybe he is slightly exhausted after playing during that circus online era for a while, maybe he is exaggerating with an amount of practising and he needs to clear his head. Who knows? I don't think Spirit will be the best on LAN out of those 5 teams but as I've said, imo they will be definitely stronger. Everyone has equal opportunities on LAN just because of not having ping spikes or other oppressive factors. We will see anyways.

Na'Vi will play good. They has 4 players who were good at LANs and s1mple will be super motivated to play on it. Mouz and OG too. They're mixes of newcomers and players who proved themselves on LAN. Rest - idk.

"Gambit never played in any LAN event as a team," Why lying? They played in New York (won), in Kiev and in EU too. They played many LANs. Of course those were tier 2 LANs (or lower) but still there is no reason to say they NEVER played a LAN lol They were tier 2 team for a long time and they were dominating. They didn't really have much chances to get into tier 1 LANs - also they were younger and worse. The more they train the better they become. Also -supra +hobbit really improved their roster (they didn't really have experienced player before) People just jealous because Gambit are just so damn good, they are probably better than 2018 Astralis

And they didn't win anything since 2017 on the finals they made they lost one of it to a team that fielded a standin and a coach and 4 members of that same team still plays for G2. I know you are gonna say it was long time back but so was the Katowice final. And frankly having good bootcamps is not an outright guarantee of incredible LAN performance because that way all teams having great bootcamps are guarenteed to be great on LAN, tbh at the end of the day it finally will be team dynamics and tactics that will decide the better team.

"3. Despite Flashpoint 3 success, they also did not show up in IEM Summer or Blast Spring Finals, also with rumors of ropz pursuing leaving mousesports actively, it is safe to say mousesports will be not good on LAN." I am not sure about that. Gambit are playing at their max atm. The others aren't. They are used to LAN events feeding their motivation to practice hard, so they will improve at LAN, I am confident in this. Gambit wont improve, they might adapt, change tactics and so on, but they are already at their max motivational level, that's for sure. I am not saying that Gambit isn't still my favourites, just saying the gap will be smaller because the other teams will be more motivated than in this online era.

I hope astralis surprises again, but it seem unlikely. Remember they were not favourites at last major when it started. I mostly hope it so Xyp9x, gla1ve & dupreeh can laugh at device, with 5 majors to their name, against his petty 4, which he hoped would be become 5 when he left astralis.

yeah, but I think the short time given was quite unfriendly by device. If he was friendly, he would have cared about the solution, and tried to time everything at best. I think he is being quite selfish, and is probably quite dominated by his GF tbh. He makes the money, he could have easily moved to Denmark. I see no reason moving to sweden as a dane myself. Zero. Norway & Finland maybe, but Sweden, nope. It's like on the bottom of the scandinavia list for most people.

even though u were already destroyed just to fatality ur bait reason why electronic, s1mple and bomba and other top players are in their teams is because they tend to play better on lans rather than online this ability is what makes truly top players so good and rare

You could also turn it around. Saying these players are not motivated outside LAN, so they don't play that well outside LAN. I think Gambit is top motivated outside LAN, while most other teams aren't. Gambit never got into LAN events except for a few smaller ones. I think a lot of people will be surprised at how small the gap will be between Gambit and other teams when it comes to LAN. The other teams will rise, it's not Gambit which will fall.

ofcourse. But I just don't think they can improve much. They need others to improve first, so they can steal some good tactics here and there. They haven't got an endless supply of ideas. But they will not fail, unless you think not winning the major is a failure, because it aint set in stone that they will win it. Even though they will probably be favourites with the betting sites, who are the experts at this, or they wouldn't be able to make money.

idk about that one, it is not about ideas that much, at this level it is extremely hard to surprise anyone as there is a lot of cs-smart people watching demos and stuff, at this point teams just cannot outplay them rather than outsmart them even other pro's said that they doing very simple stuff but it still hard to beat them

Mouz have shown progress and improvements and dexter was added several months ago. Don't expect much from them but they will beat some teams and upset might happen 4. S1mple was on bootcamp with Navi. Several times. He wasn't always with them, but he is not dumb enough to skip all of bootcamps. Elec's wife was always the person that motivated him to be better, Can't see why kid would ruin this relationship between them. 5. So you have no actual "proof" that Gambit will be bad at lan, but you still talk about it? You are not smart, don't spread false info and don't act like you know what teams actually need to be better. They will figure it out without you being typical hltv user

They look very structurated, they won't give sh*t if there is crowd or no crowd, they will play same style wich is effective most of the times
