We were born too early to explore and describe the universe

-yes unfortunately there is such a truth -Maybe 1000-1500 years from us, human civilizations will reach another star system in 3 minutes. -In short, dying without understanding exactly what's going on in the universe makes me feel empty.

That's the thing, life doesn't end with death. It continues into the after life. If your an atheist everything is worthless for you perhaps you might even turn nihilist

Just because its convenient to believe in a afterlife doesnt mean its true. No one knows what happens when your lights are turned off, but as an atheist i dont find it daunting that we just fade to black, if anything it makes me appreciate my life. However, it must be nice to think there's something else, but logically a god looking over us like a father figure simply doesn't make sense. A intricate computer program/game/sim seems more feasible tbh

Is there an afterlife after the afterlife? Because if not, I'm pretty sure that all those 100billion+ ppl in the afterlife are nihilists by now and at each others' throats.

I Mean that is already a thing, Microchips inside your body or not everything that you do is tracked, everytime you leave with your Phone you are being tracked, and are in danger of people using the webcams to see your face, everything you do on the internet is there forever and you cant delete it...

light speed is non existent/irrelevant if we look at the whole universe but it is still a unbelieveable challange for humans to make it even half close to it

People 1000-1500 years AGO didnt thought we could leave earth, be able to go to the other side of the world in a matter of hours, and have all the technology we have today, but we have it, in 1500 years it is definitely possible for us to reach a nearby star, maybe not necessarily humans but definitely robots

Humanity is capable of reaching near light speeds and we'd already visited Proxima centauri if nasa got at least 1/4 of American military budget.
2021-07-30 05:40
We'll never understand it. The root question - why does anything exist at all - is not going to have a logically comprehensible answer. The answer is only: "it does". It will not be something that can be broken down and understood. See - we already have the end point.

Do you think people in the 1100-1800s were ''exploring the world''? most of them were slaves, had poor lifes, and you could easily just get a regular cold or stuff like that and die because there is nothing to cure it, only the VERY VERY Rich people were actually exploring the world, and even when they did its not like you would know it.

2021-07-30 00:01
no one will ever understand this. there is rumours that we know all the truth when we are born but once we develope humanism and start to see we unlearn all this.
2021-07-30 00:08
I don't know what's going on, but we know too little to be sure that we know everything. The lack of proof isn't a proof for lack. There are known knowns, known unknowns and unknown unknowns.

Why do you think being able to travel to other star systems will provide any answers to the deeper meaning of life? Unless you literally meant you just want to explore other habitable planets.

Finding life on other planets would help understand how life started in the first place

would it? I fail to see how this would be true other than our basic understanding of the big bang theory. Unless we find some beings who are enlightened with this knowledge.

It's interesting to think about but I'm not going to worry about something that isn't life-threatening or out of my control, I just like to think of it as a nice idea for what may happen in the future. ^^ We live in the now, so I try to focus on the now and take it each day at a time.

I feel like humans will struggle to venture far into space, not just due to harsh environments you'll need to endure but time itself. However, in the past they'd never think we'd be communicating via invisible frequencies or flying planes etc..so one cant say its impossible...but it sure is intimidating how big our universe seemingly is. viewer.legacysurvey.org/#NGC%20442

here you can see how the young people are becoming more and more retarded with the scientificism, dreaming about aliens, warps, space travels and all those irrelevant shits, while they can't have a healthy spiritual and physical life, every single night into DEEP EXISTENTIAL CRISIS and calling normal people as persons that "accept things just because they make you feel better". Retarded sense of superiority caused by the thought of science as the unique way of knowledge. So many bullshit and stupidity in this place

Not really. We all have our part to play in humanity's progress (although it is just a handful of ppl doing innovative things). Just look at any invention, no one man pioneered an invention AND perfected it too. Or discovered something and knew everything there was to know about it. As Isaac Newton said: "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants."

It's always relative. Be optimistic. You had already know more and enjoy more compare with 1000 years before. We have internet that you can communicate with people everywhere on earth, we have csgo , phone etc. The universe still remain myth now, but you still can research more if you interesting in it. I'm sure there is still knowledge that you haven't learned but human beings already know.
