Why EliGE always say he is poor?
United States ShakezullahGOD
I've watched EliGE stream for the last 3 days, and he gave me the impression that he doesn't make that much money and is very frugal. He says the reason he has no skin is because he doesn't have money to spend on skin. His inventory is very low for a pro player. I am confused, i thought Team Liquid will give fat paycheck

You tripled your 'inventory worth'. There's a subtle difference between that and liquid cash assets. Mainly, these csgo investments are subject to a very high systemic risk of the game dying for some reason. I think it should be a part of your investment portfolio - not the entirety of it.

No, I'm saying those sites which allow you to cash out may not be around. Also, you don't need to be so defensive. If you're happy investing in skins, that's cool, but also accept that many people don't deem it a worthwhile investment.

why wouldn't the sites be around? they are making a ton of money.
2021-08-01 18:41

Because Valve at one point may want to intervene so as to keep the cashflow headed in their direction, rather than that of a third party that doesn't benefit them at all. Just like they were able to shut down some of the older skin deposit sites. Not a guarantee it'll happen, but it very well could.

Well that's like a hyrdra. Anyone could feasibly write their own scripts to cheat in game. Again, I'm not saying that it will happen, just a good chance it could. These sites are essentially selling someone else's property without their permission.

2021-08-01 20:17
I'm agree if you're an hltv kid, but if you're a pro player, you can do money with it super easy. You buy X skin, play with it in progames giving it X name as a signature and you sell it after the game to some chinese investor who can say Elige was the previous owner. Ez money and ez profit.
2021-08-01 16:14
yeah but there's not that many pros that are actually about investing into skins, honestly if you have a job there's no real reason to invest in csgo skins for more income. Most of the pros just get the skins they like and don't think about it too much
2021-08-01 16:28

I'm just trying to counter the argument that he doesn't buy skins because he doesn't wanna waste his money. That argument is flawed because you can easily double or triple your money if you buy the right skins, let alone lose money.

obviously there are better ways to invest but saying that buying skins is dumb is retarded. Obviously buying Valorant skins for example is dumb but CSGO skins is a whole different maarket. Talking of breaking steam rules. There is literally so many sites working at the moment. Millions of dollars in circulation. If Valve wanted they would have banned those sites long ago. Who do you think brings the money in to fund the Majors ? The investors are the ones who buy in bulk otherwise you wont have those 10 s of million dollar sales every major and operations. And to add to the steam breaking rules, there are literally 99 % of pros who buy skins from third party and tradde high tier skins.

I think the average tierS team salary is 20-25K and lower for younger players like Broky, Bymas, Miustaaa... Highest is for people like BlameF and S1mple, making 30k or more a month
2021-08-01 19:16

I’m pretty sure you’re talking out of your ass. I’d guess the players have same salaries in same teams. Wouldn’t be fair if broky made less than his teammates tbh and probably not likely as they all have pretty much similar/same contracts?
2021-08-02 06:16
7 replies
Nah, they definitely have different salaries. When FaZe picked up Broky, FPL pugger with 0 Tier-1 experience, did you expect him to make the same salary as a two-time major MVP, and two time HLTV #1 player, Coldzera? Or the same as arguably the best rifler in CS:GO history , NiKo? They probably have the same contract lengths, but salary? No , lol. It's not unfair, anyway it'd be unfair if Broky made the same salary as them, because he has no legacy and experience, yet he comes in and would make the same money as them... Remember when HenryG released the salaries of his team , to try to make the scene more transparent with these sort of financials surrounding players. Mezzi had a salary of 12000/month. You really think he gave that same salary to W0xic, Alex or Estag, when the deal value was 1.4M , 1.6M and 2.1M respectively.
2021-08-02 15:42
6 replies
The thing is we don’t know as it’s not public information, but what I do know is ENCE players (during their major run) all had the same salaries. I do remember HenryG releasing the values, but wasn’t it buyout included which made it hard to know what the salary was? Although it’d be logical that better player and bigger name = more salary I still don’t really believe it makes that big of a difference.

Yeah I don't know as the salaries are not public, so speculation is useless. ENCE players in their best year made about 10k/month.
2021-08-02 19:41
1 reply
Personally, I doubt it, because that means that Bymas and Broky we're on the same salaries as legends: NiKo, Rain and Cold. There is no reason to give them a high salary, since those players had 0 demand. Like if you offer them 5k/month they'd accept since they were on a lower salary before and had no other offers. But, if you offered Cold 5k a month, he'd say no and go to complexity instead since they would give him 35k a month. All about demand, experience, skill and name value. New players lack all those. It's like if you work in an office, a Junior Developer will get paid less than a Senior developer, even though they are in the same department and work kinda the same jobs. Same in CS.

yeah, but the thing with that is, those sports are actually profitable so it's viable to pay them as much as they do. esports doesn't really make money yet, that's why orgs are dying because North inflated the fuck out of the scene's salary alongside Cloud9
2021-08-01 09:15

That looks like so much assumptions without anything to back it up. Which orgs are dying out? Tier 2? Yes but only in na and its because of valorant. Tier 2 wasnt even a thing in the past. Now it is and the fact that its a thing means esports are becoming more profitable. It makes sense you have a huge difference in terms of making money between tier 1 and 2. If you would take basketball for example you get national pride as a variable and it makes local clubs in country get interest and sponsors, therfore more money to spend on salaries. Esports are global and national prides plays basically no role in comparison, much less people care from which country the players are if they play well. The level between tier 1 and 2 is so vast that it makes tier 2 unwatchable when you have tier 1 matches and you have no other thing that drives people to watch tier 2

fuck no. i cant name 5 wnba players because they all suck lmao. if there's no draw, they dont deserve that much money. the reason wnba players dont make shit is because it isn't profitable. like how cs is not profitable, therefore the salaries should not be as inflated as they are

Nah I dont think anyone in CS makes 80k a month with only base salary, stewie wouldn't even be a top5 pick if someone would make that amount of money. The most I have ever heard is around 40k

only native americans have "american genes." with your logic (the average american is a retard, i'll be real), and about 70% of the U.S. is white, therefore, europeans are retarded

Well all these “American” genes you are referring to are actually all from European nations. So I suppose you think all of Europe is retarded?

2021-08-01 09:10
elige is a smart guy and if you didn't realize yet, most smart pros have a small inventory. most of his skins are just gifts that he doesn't sell, because it wouldn't be appropriate.

he has like StatTrak Karambit | Marble Fade
2021-08-01 16:14
He's probably just extremely frugal, investments upon investments so he never has to work again after retiring at like 30
2021-08-01 16:18
I think he said he likes the look of the vanilla guns, and he wished there was actually a stattrack option for those. That's also why when he has a knife it's the vanilla version, overall he actually has a pretty cool themed inventory if you think about it like that
2021-08-01 16:29
Maybe hes joking and doesn't care about skins

2021-08-02 16:30
He does have a buttload of vanilla knives though. Not as crazy as other pros but still shows he has a few grand to spend on frivolous shit. So he is not poor by a normal persons standards.
2021-08-02 16:40
he has plenty of money from playing with liquid. some people just don't care about gun skins. i've never bought one and i never will. it doesn't affect how i play the game so why the hell would i bother?
