GPU EXPERTS COME HERE

Hello, first of all retarded question but if anyone can help me out I will be happy. So Iam gpu noob and I thought that the higher the number (gtx cards) the better is it but turns out its not quite the case (yes iam retard) I need to get new gpu but as long as cards are expansive af now I need to get something cheap from second hand as Iam poor as fuck now. Question: Is it worth getting gtx780 rather than something like 1050ti? I thought 1050 would be much better as it is newer and shit, but the benchmarks says 780 compared to 1050ti is so much better, I know 780 is old as fuck and 1050 newer but the performance is much better on 780. (gtx 780 is used just as example here ) The only reason why Iam worried to get 780 is cuz its really old and might die soon maybe thats why it would be smarter to get something like 1050ti or 960?

dont worry that its old. gpu won't die without reason. it can only die due to high temperatures

780 might have better performance but it also consumes more power, gets hotter, and losing support. I dont know which kind of a gamer you are, but im still running 1050ti and its totally enough for me personally

Yeah thats what I thought exactly Its beast on benchmarks but not worth getting used one as it most likely might die soon I only play CS (Iam used to get 200fps rn) I prolly overthing a bit here and just should get 1050ti as Iam on budget and its gonna be fine for csgo

CSGO is a cpu heavy game so the 780 will probably not give you that much extra performance over the 1050ti in cs. In other games it might be a whole different story (mentioning just in case that in those benchmark videos keep an eye on the other system specs as well - cpu, ram - if you are watching benchmarks from multiple channels or timeframes) Also consider how long you want to be using that card. If its like for max 1-2 years then get whichever one is cheaper IMO. But if youre planning to keep if for longer then you should consider which is more important to you: better performance OR newer technology with smaller heat output and power consumption (+ software support) edit: + 1050ti has 1gb more vram which is becoming more and more important in games

780 is better than 1050ti bro. As #16 has mentioned it consumes more power and it is old. Since it is old it will receive less driver update comparing to 1050ti. So go for 1050ti

Yeah think its not smart to get 780 in that case thanks

I have a 1050Ti as a backup card and I play high settings and on all maps I get between 130-200fps. I use a RTX2070 mainly now though and with that card I get between 200-300fps. You also need a good CPU to go hand in hand with the GPU. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X and that helps to boost performance

780 is better but it’s old, uses much more power and has 1gb less vram. I would go for 1050ti
