Its not even that. We live in a society (xd meme xd), and thus we contribute to things we may not benefit from directly all the time.

definitely not in every country. But i can speak for Denmark and say that our bus/train system is quite well organized. It's a small country tho but still. Otherwise u can use the bicycle in bigger cities. And i dunno what the guy commenting at the bottom is about. Also the fact that he says that the whole of Europe sucks as if it's the same. Sure in some countries it's like stepping back in time or whatever. But the nordic countries are the innovative leaders of the world and ahead of the US in some areas, which is where i assume this guy is from. Typical NA IQ who thinks Europe is one country and has probably seen a picture of Bulgaria and thinks that applies to all of Europe.

It’s especially hilarious considering what is American cuisine? A burger? I can’t really think of anything else that wasn’t taken from other cultures, maybe pop tarts and Oreo as well.

If I have to guess the portions are too small so that = no food
2021-08-05 19:16
honestly I live in the south part of the US and the cuisine is food like jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish, pistolette, boudin, etouffee, po'boys, and beignets. There is more but the culture is just very different depending on where you live in the US. Most states are the size of entire European countries.
2021-08-05 21:49
2 replies
Not sure what size has to do with a country's cuisine, time and history is a much more important factor and the US is a very young country. Most of the "American cuisine" is just slightly modified European dishes that was brought over with the European immigrants.

The power outage thing is very true tbh, american electric grids are pretty shit wdym by manufacturing? but in general europe is definetely not more advanced in the US Silicon valley and many cities in the south most noticably cities in north carolina, texas and florida all have really solid tech industries there especially in software,

Yeah we got some backwaters of course. I was thinking about how you use gas stoves and oil heating etc, it's very outdated do use those in europe. But your grid could not handle any more load so it's understandable. And you build houses out of this "dry wall", it really seems like cardboard houses to us since we use solid wood/brick/stone/insert not dry wall here for housebuilding These things seem very crude to me, yeah and american made cars also seem crude. Big inefficient engines, bad fuel economy, large panel gaps (poor manufacturing quality). Not necessarily low tech, but it does seem very archaic

" you use gas stoves and oil heating etc" Oil heating is not very common but gas stoves are, with my house it was optional tho, gas stoves are prefered when it comes to cooking Also american houses are alot more sturdy than you would think actually, the wood thats used on american houses is literally the same wood that was used on ships, american homes are actually alot more modern than european homes and are actually affordable, the US and canada has a really good real estate market American cars in the 80's were pretty poor but this honestly doesnt really apply to cars made in the 90's/21st century ford and chevvy make incredibly fuel efficent economy cars that rival the effeiciency of civics

in most german big cities u are faster with bus and tram than with a car. if u have a car u need to pay a lot here. parking prices are going insane in big cities. i know, that most ppl on hltv from NA are coming from trailerparks, thats why they cant imagine a life without driving drunk to the next liqueur store. here u have everything in like 5-10 minutes with a bus drive.

no hotels that arent mom pop tiny. What does he mean?
2021-08-05 17:58
LOL Very NOT true. A silly bait really. 1. Lots of nice hotels. If you are somehow anxious about unknown names there is also Hotels that are part of fx. the Marriott chain. 2. Lots of tech. Now it differs on where in the EU, but like fx. where I live there is lots of tech that makes life easy. As for example it has been months since I have had to use cash, there is no paper work when for example visiting a doctor that sends you on to a hospital or writes a prescription. Doing your tax takes 5 minutes on the computer... 3. Food. Some of the best cuisine can be found here, like for example the is Noma, the New Nordic kitchen, French dining, Italian... the only place the US may be a head is in portion sizes. 4. Plenty of chains, both European and ones that originate in the US ones. Not that I would really recommend them, but there is for example McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, 7-11 to just name some only I would say that apart from offering familiarity the non-chain places are better. Oh and there is public transport if you don't like cycling + of course people have cars as well. youtube.com/watch?v=gww9_S4PNV0

2021-08-05 18:29
lol, you can find the same chains in every nordic (scandinavia + finland) mall, of course many of them may be foreign to people from other continents and yeah, plenty of cities without the need for a car half of the youngsters (in their twenties) don't even get a driver's licence in some of the largest cities here I drive a car/truck for a living, but haven't owned a car in 3-4 years (not a registered one anyways), currently I don't even have a motorbike anymore yeah, probably not much large and cheap highway motels here like in the States, but larger the cities, larger the hotels. You can find Hiltons, Intercontinentals and the like in probably every major city
