i don't even know what you want to say. it was a multi-ethnic country but majority of people within the empire were germans, only the german prince-electors could vote the emperor and that system proved stable over a very long period of time. the authority of the emperor differed from period to period. although the HRE remained more decentralized as other countries at the time as for example france or england, during the high-times it was still the main power of the european continent.

if we federalise it would mean a couple of things 1: our current agreements would be binding so countries like poland and hungary cant do stupid shit anymore 2: we could have certain united institutions like public transport or medicine 3: we could have a united army and thus also a larger influence on foreign affairs

This subject is very vast to talk about.. Take a look at Russia for example, a country that stretches from Europe to Asia and has all kinds of mixed ethnics & beliefs under 1 flag. Certain parts (european Russia for example) will keep developing while others like central Russia & far east will remain underdeveloped. It will take at least 200 more years for something like this to happen imo

And you think that the central goverment would actually govern better over those areas? Do you really think an administrative body situated in Brussels would actually know what's better for the person living in Madrid or Prague? Your ideas work great in a computer game like EU4, but not in real life. It's an utopia at that time. Such a federalisation would make sense if it was done naturally in the course of centuries when people are gonna be mixed all together so the national interests won't matter anymore. That's my point of view.

Nominal GDP of EU as of 2020 = 15,192,652.40 Nominal GDP of China as of 2020 = 14,722,730.70 Nominal GDP of the USA as of 2020 = 20,936,600.00 (in Millions) The GDP of the EU is around the same since 2008 China's GDP is rising the fastest and USA is in the lead but its economy has seen a slight decline in the last year. I would say that China's and the US's Economic Growth are much better than the EU currently, even is China's GDP is slightly lower than the EU's (which I got wrong in my first comment.)

the eu should remind themselves of the reason they're actually here it all started as an economical trade agreement between countries.. nowadays it's a bit too much. look at the US and their problems.. with your idea we would just copy them. countries can't even get their own sh*t done rn but one gov above them and the whole EU would? the norms, values, views all differ from one to another.. like this there could be a completely different president with different standards every period ruling countries that don't agree with him, that should not happen. people always talk about diversity etc, it's the same thing. keep it and rather change the eu a bit. imo the eu should not have the right to pass laws on EVERY aspect of the countries - main laws should be economical and on trade to keep a good balanced ecosystem biggest problem of today is that it feels like the eu is separated from the countires. they act separated. imo the eu should be like a group project between countries (like it used to be) : countries come together, discuss, talk, everyone has their own minds and then they look what's best for all. nowadays we have representatives that had completely different political roles in their own countries, sometimes even separated from the actual interests of their own country... it's too much the whole political system is like a bubble.. wayyy too much people in there. we would need another SOLON & Kleisthenes that could show people what true democracy would look like. edit: europe (not eu) should all be in a good, friendly and healthy relationship. the eu rn is not a safe spot for that.. look at brexit etc everyone should be allowed and free to govern the way they want to but all should have a peaceful and economical bondage to remain a strong and independent union
2021-09-12 13:41
No, I dont want Eastern Europeans in control of any part of my country I especially don't want Europeans who have shown borderline hatred towards my country over the past few years to have any say in it. I don't mind the EU as long as it is very limited in political scope, which it is increasingly not.

as being an intern in the UK a few years ago + lived in a few EU places and visited .. most of the EU by now, i still don't understand to this day why the brits think EU people hate them. except for random jokes about british women being fat .. i did not hear anything bad or of some form of hatred towards brits. So i really have no clue where this idea comes from, unless the media is doing something in this department.

I mean there are multiple reasons why I think this A) Any discussion regarding Brexit always devolves into Europeans saying they are better off without us as a people, rather than a government/country, which is mental B) If you look at willingness for European countries to defend others, we are one of the only countries that would defend any European country (in terms of natural disaster, military conflict etc) whereas we consistently rank bottom of every other European country C) Europeans constantly advocate for the UK to break up (being very pro-Scottish independence, not because they like Scotland, just because they hate English people Of course this isn't representative of the entire European continent but I think the hate is also represented by top Europeans, especially over how they treated us with Brexit and the NI protocol. And I also say this as a remainer and someone that wants to rejoin the EU
2021-09-12 14:13

A) haven't heard that and i also don't agree to it, i think the UK was an integral part B) don't know about this one, as i said - not following the news much especially not military related C) i think there's a confusion here, if some thing the scots deserve to have a word, that doesn't mean that people hate the english people. I've only heard 1 person be pro-scots independence, and that person's perspective is what i've described above i know my opinions/views are also not representative, just like i don't hate asians, yet asians complain they are being hated on. So probably some people hate them ? But i can say one thing negative about brits, that i've noticed after brexit. Your recruiters have gone absolute yolo. They are so aggressive on linkedin .. and this has been confirmed to me by other people i know. this was not happening when i came for that internship and it's sad. I have no info on what is happening in your job market, but something is definitely wrong.
