you expect winning when the org cant buy him any players? I mean since the squad has been created they for sure havent spent any real money on buyouts. flamez and niko arent title winning signings.

I mean they doing always great in early stage of the tournament, but shit all over the place when it comes to semis or finals. So its not that they dont have potential to win, but they just missing that final piece of puzzle

maybe because all the other best teams in the world also make it to semis and are just straight up better than OG? +those same teams are also good enough to adapt if someone like OG beats them in a group stage game that doesnt matter as much as a quarter/semifinal
2021-09-16 18:19
They have potential to win, they just need Valde, mantuu and flamez to overperform
2021-09-16 20:05
As long as his fanbase will cheer for him LULZ They should have benched him instead of NBK and ISSAA. They are in the denial step of acceptance, he is a bad IGL and except an ego boost time to time, OG will bad till he is the captain. And I know (toxic) Aleksib fanbase will spam-answer to try to prove I'm wrong with bullshit argument.

OG won't splurge money on CS = gamble pickups of average players. I don't think the OG org wants to be the best at CSGO, having a top tier team should be fine considering the roster they've got.

Still not baiting :) I think that people who keep praising Aleksi in 2021 have to admit that there is nothing to praise about him. And winning two second tier team and BIG in bo3 final isn't that much of achievement

what aleksi achieved with ENCE was phenomenal. Turned a bunch of average finnish players into gods, and when he got removed they went back to tier ENCE.
2021-09-16 21:50
You see "nothing to praise" about about IGL who has a international team in which none have too much T1 success (valde niko DH Masters 2018, aleksiB with ENCE) reaching top 4 in the biggest tournament of this year so far? Even many analysts mention aleksi's calling is giving OG upper hand in many situations. you have the data, but you just decide not to use it but go with emotion instead. I don't like praises in general (we fins are pretty humble people by average) but I believe in data. your logic: they didnt win the biggest tournament of the year (so far) -> IGL must suck
2021-09-17 10:38

My logic: they haven't won anything in 2 years, and in sports its all about winning. Someome has to go, by this far 2 players has been kicked out, next in line coach or igl

"They" Acting like this is the same lineup. Acting like they haven't won about 70% of their games. Acting like they didn't build the lineup almost fully online (no bootcamps), have one guy playing with high ping, have AWPer with a wrist injury for most of the time, and have coach banned for 4 months. Somehow they still managed to get to the top 6. The initial team with ISSAA and NBK was never supposed to win tier 1 events. PS. Stop fake flagging ;)

I don't know, ask G2 or NiP supporters, for example. It's not self-evident to win T1 tournaments. Anyway, I don't get you at all. OG have been playing for only 4 months together after they changed *TWO* players. They've won 72% out of their serieses. They've placed at least 3rd in their last 4 tournaments. You think they should have immediately won a tier 1 tournament :D? By your logic, every team should start swapping players if the team doesn't win a title in the next four months. I would maybe understand you a bit if you made this thread in an outburst of anger after they didn't make it to Cologne, but doing this kinda thread after they placed 3rd in EPL just easily tells me that the only purpose you made this was to shit on Aleksib for no reason :D

As long as they are not bombing out in the play-ins and reaching playoffs i am happy. Of course i want them to win but i know it takes time to achieve results especially for a international roster. Winning is definitely not easy cuz OG don't have star player like s1mple or zywoo. They are a system based team and kicking the igl is definitely not the best decision. The more they play together the more its good for them.

They were close a lot of times and progressing now with 2th and 3-4th finishes in last 3 tournaments. I mean, it sounds bad like hasn't won anything for 2 years, but in reality not a lot of teams have won something, and even big and well invested teams like G2 or NiP haven't won anything for ages. Plus, there were maybe a couple of games when Aleksi was the problem, I mean because of his calling/individual form. In general his individual level and calling are pretty consistent (~1.00 rating and just good reads) Edited: didnt think that i will write that much sorry

Appreciate ur text mens! Yes you are right that they are progressing well in past events but still underpreforming big time in deciding games. I mean, for how long it will be ok for the org to be that 3-4th placed team that hasn't won anything? What comes to NIP they just brought in dev1ce and compared to them OG has had more time after rebuild. But yes, G2 Nip underpreformers also rn

Dev1ce and Flamez joined their teams in the same month (in April), however they are both not the problems in their teams. OG don't have problems rn, NiP are not even a team, no structure no permanent roster, poor Dev1ce

have same opinion, specially when roster builds around him and he choses who to pick Imagine to have that much funds from org ready to spend on your roster and max reached for 2 years once on t1 tournament top3-4, even they aren't that good as those, with those they played were bad, well done anyway definitely something doesnt work as it should, coach/IGL are under question, they should have take LMBT or any other experienced and titled coach. OG for those 2 years are only trading with their face, nothing new, lucky at least to be able to play top events due to their medias, otherwise they would be lucky to be in top30 after few months

"lucky at least to be able to play top events due to their medias, otherwise they would be lucky to be in top30 after few months" Ok but the only invite they have is blast groups, other than that they need to qualify through world rankings or actual closed qualifiers as they did with IEM Summer/play-in stages in Katowice and Cologne They even fell down in rankings to top 20 in spring but bounced back after good results Won't even talk about money, Flamez and Mantuu were almost free, the org didn't make bootcamps for a year and in general OG is a very budget team Lamabot hasnt been relevant as a coach since Mouz 2018, killed old Forze and now coaching Gorillaz haha
2021-09-16 00:47
2 replies
man with playing against top20 teams being in top100 making you go up way faster, especially when you play group and maybe go to next event of blast, which means its not very difficult to play EPL, when you get invite cuz of rankings. You don't have to be mastermind not to get some experience by playing with top teams and after to win couple tier 2-3 teams in quals where you have direct invite OG very budget team? funny. Imagine Valde playing in team, where he gets less paid than in worthless North, imagine AleksiB playing for less than was offered by Complexity, imagine getting niko from Heroic for free and getting paid less than in Heroic( tbh I doubt that he gets less), Flamez was bought from Endpoint, Mantuu..dont know about him anything who is Lamabot?
2021-09-16 11:52
1 reply
Lamabot is LMBT As you said, they can win tier 2-3 teams in qualifiers and qualify to actual tier 1 events, no idea how can they be out of top 30 with this logic. Big events (with 16-24 teams) give a lot more points in rankings cuz of amount of matches, like faze were boosted from 30th to 5th place after one tournament. OG never fell this hard but still their placement is coming from those tournaments they qualified to, not from 2 matches per 6 months on blast I mean, OG team costs a lot less than every other tier 1 team. They don't have stars who costs millions and usually are the biggest part of budget (S1mple, NiKo, Zywoo, Dev1ce whatever), their stars are two rookies who were bought out almost for free. Idk about salaries but they don't get a lot 4sure or you would hear about it every time they lose. Idk who can you compare them with, maybe Heroic and Gambit now, but I'm sure Shiro and Axile buyouts are gonna be insane in future and Heroic players rn are not in the best situation to give them any price, although Teses and Stavn probably cost a lot too being star-riflers
2021-09-16 12:12
I mean they are good enough to most likely eventually win a title, they are contending alot of the time and they have games where they look super impressive. Why would they change something. I doubt that RIGHT NOW most teams have the ambition to be the number 1 team with the absolutaly crazy state of NaVi, of course that doesn't mean they're not going to try but they're most likely not gonna go through huge changes while they're still performing good. Things like changing an IGL is extremely difficult and like 7/10 it doesn't work out long term.

Someone who can help them go the extra mile when they are facing teams like NAVI, Gambit, Vitality, G2, Heroic, etc. If you look at both IEM Summer and EPL 14, they did well but they didn't have great opposition. The only 2 teams they could've struggled against in EPL, G2 and NIP, had terrible events overall. They lost vs Vitality but I'm quite certain they wouldn't have been able to beat NAVI, Heroic, Liquid, or Gambit either.

Agree big time! But with better coach or igl could mantu be their star player? Does he have potential? I think valde has always been great rifler but i don't think he can become this top player anymore

I'm not super well versed in OG but I don't think Aleksib is the problem. Despite what I just said about the teams they beat to reach SF and GF in those events, they still get the merit for doing so. And Aleksib also did reach the majors GF with less than what he has now and they also beat Liquid and NAVI. So credit where credit is due. I think OG right now is more about fragging power, and FlameZ+niko is no doubt a major upgrade vs NBK- and ISSAA. I think more time is required. FlameZ joined on April 9th and since then they managed 2 deep runs if we ignore the SSS 2 win. hltv.org/stats/teams/events/10503/og?sta.. And the players are not doing bad themselves: hltv.org/stats/teams/players/10503/og?st.. As for your question about if mantuu could be their star player, my answer is yes AND no. If we look at dominant teams throughout CS history, ALL of them had at least 3 star players. Astralis had device, dupreeh, and Magisk, LG/SK had coldzera, FalleN and fer, and fnatic had olof, flusha and JW. If you want present time, Gambit has sh1ro, Ax1Le, and Hobbit. Just look what happened when NAVI added b1t. Since his full-time addition, they've participated in 6 events, won 4 and came up second in 1. In conclusion, OG needs 3 and those are mantuu, FlameZ and valde. Flamez is young and needs some time. Mantuu is very good but lacks consistency and Valde is also a good 3rd star. But it's indeed key that mantuu achieves consistency, he was absent vs Vitality and only showed up in map 3 vs NiP. No team will ever be dominant without a good awper (looking at you G2).

I don't think Aleksib is the biggest problem in OG. He might do some bad calls from time to time, there's no denying that but overall his game plans are very solid and work really well even against high level opposition. Fragging wise he lacks quite a lot compared to some other IGLs, but he also does go in first quite often and gets info and map control for his team. Personally I feel like what OG needs is a consistent rifler who can put up good numbers. valde is fairly consistent and has a high peak, but for example recently he hasn't been performing that well (compared to what they need from him). flameZ is also good, but he is even more inconsistent which is expected from a player with such an aggressive playstyle. Then there are also niko and Aleksib who play these harder "support" roles, so it's to be expected that their stats aren't that high. The problem is that both valde and flameZ play these anchor spots and not positions like connector on Mirage which leaves a lot on both Aleksib's and niko's plate. Imo it's very unlikely that they'll ever become a title contesting team without an actual star fragger who plays these more high impact spots. TLDR: I don't think Aleksib is the problem, they just need a consistent and reliable star rifler who could play these high impact spots.

Exactly. I think that's exactly what they would need if they wanted to fight for trophies and higher rankings but I am also aware that they are not going to do any roster changes as of now. The team they have rn is solid but they do lack a certain someone that could perform well no matter what (besides mantuu, but he's an AWPer). Even with all this being said I still really like the team and wish them the best of luck in their future matches, but I think that's what they would have to do in order of becoming a serious powerhouse. :)

Obviously not and I am sorry if I made myself unclear, I didn't mean it in a way that they have to do roster changes. I just think that they would need a player like that if they wanted to be a consistent championship winning team. :D
2021-09-16 16:25
OG on paper is a team that should perform like Dignitas or FunPlus Phoenix, the fact that they've been a consistent top 10 team for 2 years says a lot about Aleksib's abilities... don't act surprised when they don't win tournaments against god tier teams with god tier rosters, when you know that their best player only got in the top 20 HLTV once and at the last position.

+1, really well written. I NEVER got how they can stick in top15 for such a long time even 2 rosterchanges & stick to Aleksi as IGL. Srsly I dislike them, but I got to respect that they constantly play T1 Tournaments and even hit playoffs. Imho there is really no top15-team player in OG and they somehow manage to be there.

I agree they need a star player I also think a major problem is the positions that some of the said star players in the team are currently playing. i.e Flamez on A site Anchor Niko I think should be replaced with a star rifle or hybrid player. i.e Ropz, Jks, Frozen I believe Frozen would be the perfect pick up for this roster. However, I would drop niko and put valde into more of his roles

My opinion is changing mantuu with another awper. He most likely fail in big moment and he got opportunity to be star awper but unluckily he can fight with another top tier awper. Maybe get a support awper instead and give more free space for valde flamez and niko. Aleksib is okay igl imo

Og does really well concidering the resources they have. Aleksib might not be the best fragging igl but he has proven dozen of times why he's a t1 igl. From the rest mantuu is propably the only player who could fit in any other t1 teams lineup. He's the only player with the potential to be a starplayer. Valde is suppose to be the main rifle on the team but he seems to be struggling eversince he joined og. He is quite consistent but in my eyes lacks the ability to be a star. niko is really inconsistent. He has his moments where he shines but those happen rarely. Flamez has lots of potential but he will need atleast couple more years until he can be a lead player. Og is constantly winning as an underdog. Alllthough im a fan with this roster i doubt they will ever break the top5. Their roster needs more firepower and starpower.

Not really. If you compare ogs roster to any other roster piece by piece (awp vs awp etc.) they lose to basically to 9/10 of the top tier teams.
2021-09-16 23:00
Hltv has this weird view that every team should be top 1 and if they’re not they’re a failure. But you have to look at teams and say ok where should they be with the quality of player at their disposal and say do they over or underperform. OG are a low top 10 team so to make deep playoff runs is over performing. There’s a lot of top teams that are in a slump currently, OG are a rare team that’s actually improving.

They have recently started to play good cs and you want him kicked? I mean look at the lineup. I would not say they have the biggest names but still getting good wins from big teams and just finished top4
2021-09-16 21:41
They looked like shit in Cologne, but outside of that they've been a good top 10 team, I wouldn't make changes until the major, and if so they probably just need like a superstar fragger or something like that instead of removing the IGL. For the most part I don't think niko, flamez nor mantuu are fragging to the level they'd need to for them to win shit. Especially when you have teams like Gambit, Na'Vi and Vitality fragging like they do.

Yeah I'm not saying that they should all be removed, I do think that when u compare Mantuu with Zywoo, s1mple and Sh1ro it's a little unfair to expect more from him but at the same time it makes you wonder if they could get a better player. Same with niko and flameZ, where although they're not bad you probably could find someone to replace them, although that someone might be the more famous niko for example. It's not easy, I wouldn't make changes and just hope you eventually hit the sweet spot where the great teams start falling and just win against a bit lesser competition. But if anyone has to go it wouldn't be Aleksib and probably neither does valde. -niko +k0nfig would be interesting too if k0nfig's surgery doesn't fuck him up completely.

You can't just get tier 1 awper from anywhere. In what world should OG get rid of a top awper who has a 1.19 rating last 6 months and who they basically got for free? Same with flamez. Why in the hell would you change an 18-year-old top tier prospect who performs better than fucking ropz did at his age. hltv.org/stats/players/11816/ropz?startD.. hltv.org/stats/players/16693/flamez?star.. It would be pure insanity to change either of those players and - on top of that - almost impossible to find better players unless you want to spend millions of dollars.

"Yeah I'm not saying that they should all be removed" "...it makes you wonder if they could get a better player" " ...you probably could find someone to replace them" "I wouldn't make changes" What are you saying is that: "I wouldn't make changes but they should get better players." That's what I get from that. And if somehow that's not what you meant, you should be more clear with your wording, especially if you are a native English speaker. I think you don't understrand that these orgs can't just buy whoever they just want. Replacing niko with K0nfig or NiKo (XDDDDDDD) sounds absolutely ridicilous. Like I hear that kind of suggestions from 12-year-olds. OG would never have money for that - NEVER. And it doesn't even make sense role-wise. Just to get some entertainment, could you please name better players that OG could get to replace the future stars flamez and mantuu? :D:D:D:D
