Now that gaming is banned for kids under 18, what will the future of chinese esports be? What do you think the next generation will look like? /d

oh that makes sense, i guess league of legends may not die then.
2021-09-22 00:07
They can play as much as they want until chinese agent will enter their house*
2021-09-22 01:33
It's said that people will find a way to circumvent the ban privately, the problem is that no one sub 18 can officially play on a team. In games like league of legends the most likely scenario is that the chinese teams will open academy teams in the leagues nearby outside of china and transfer the talents they are scouting to those teams

Are there not exceptions?
2021-09-22 00:15

well i think it's bypassable because china already had a rule that banned minors from playing more than 1.5 hours each day but there was still a 17 year old who won lol worlds so i guess it's not hard to get around.

This restriction only includes mobile games and won’t affect esports
2021-09-22 00:33
I mean kids can still get on a parents acc or somethin, but there is prob some stuff that esport orgs can do to let underage kids play more cuz it's not like China hates videogames. They just believe that minors shouldn't spend time playing videogames instead of thinking about their studies.

thats true, apparently they haven't confirmed it yet but hopefully they can find a work around.

2021-09-22 01:20
TYLOO IS TOP 1 KID, DONT CRY
2021-09-22 01:21
Like I said in other forums we can still play, but yeah Esport orgs cannot let kids under 18 as their starting lineup or something like that. I think it would be a huge disaster for LPL
