Why no consistency

What do you guys think causes the inconsistency along top5 or even top10 teams these days? I mean despite Gambit and recently even Navi nobody seems to be consistent this year, it's either over- or underperformance. Online is not a valid argument btw.

Online is a valid argument

wrong. when everyone plays in their comfort zone at home, you should be playing at your best and maximize your potential, not play good one day and then terrible the other.

No what you said is exactly the reason why there's more upsets, when on LAN only the best teams, with more experience, who can handle pressure, etc will perform at their best level, and it makes things more consistent. Teams are not inconsistent online, their results are however, because when playing from home, upsets are more likely to happen.

"playing from home, upsets are more likely to happen." i disagree on this one, i feel like the biggest upsets actually happen on lan. but i understand where you're coming from.

Not necessarily. Doing bootcamp together at same place and separated at homes are different. Also, players love playing at LAN, except for some onliners who dont feel comfortable or havent experienced LAN yet. Unless players are continuously talking to each other, some of them might lose their minds when they stay alone in their homes forever.

you are dumb if you think online era means anything anymore. Its been almost 2 years and if you can't even adapt at this point you don't deserve to be top tier 1 teams.

Where did I say the contrary? I only said it brings inconsistency.

And i said its not a valid point anymore. This online era has been official for so long and if you are truly the best teams you would have adapted and knew how to minimize the inconsistency at this point already. There's no reason to think upsets are ok just because you play online. And look at teams like Navi they have been extremely consistent throughout online so it means that the ability to stay consistent is there.

online is a factor though lol not cus of peakers advantage or that bs lots of teams have a lot more time on their hand with no travel day or media days and less breaks to focus more on demo reviewing, fixing mistakes etc if competition is more competitive you’re going to struggle if you’re not effectively keeping up with the work load

so teams have more time to work on getting better is your argument, not that they're playing online.

player breaks

It's an inconsistent game, you can't do everything the same way you did yesterday, you're always gonna be changing strats and sometimes they work better sometimes they go to shit..... and also players are very inconsistent.

yeah true im sure everyones just had a day where they can’t hit shit and this can easily happen to pro players but talking specifically G2’s case it’s totally more than that
2021-09-22 19:34
that is true, but i cant remember the top5 being so inconsistent and unpredictable in a long ass time.

Except for well... Na'vi and Gambit as you pointed out. They look rock solid as compared to the other top tier teams. Never thought the day would come where I would use rock solid and Na'vi in one sentence.

Well yea, gambit looked a little bit "figured out" lately though, i mean they have been on top since the beginning of the year, it kinda only was a matter of time until teams take a closer look. As for NaVi, their last roster change really elevated the entire team, b1t has been the single most important roster move in ages for Navi.

+1 I think Gambit's back tho. Player breaks aren't their style since they are workhorses. I think all they need is some more time to break into their form and they are gonna be back to challenge Na'vi!

prior to pro league, g2 was very consistent. heroic have been mostly consistent. The main reason is that SOO many of the top 20 teams have had roster changes in the last 1-3 months, which will totally make results less consistent.

g2 is definitely the team with least amount of practice. They mainly rely on aimers like niko hunter or jackz so they just look lost when facing a team with well-prepared strats.. To be honest I won't be surprise if G2 even loses to teams like Entropiq. I don't think their players take practice serious enough because they think they have so many superstars who can carry.

Since g2 starting playing worse, there have been way more undisciplined peaks, and poor trade fragging. They have good setups, flashes, and some decent executes/strats. When they are losing by a lot, or a game is really close, they choose to rely way too much on their aim.

this tbh
2021-09-22 19:41
true, there have been loads of roster changes, that could play a huge part in the lack of consistency.
