Lackness of IGL

If you realized that, for a few years we can not see new talents for IGL position. We need more talents to play this role

it's not a very easy role, but a lot of teams nowadays don't have just 1 guy calling. navi for example has s1mple as secondary caller, device on nip etc

In Navi we can say that S1mple is sometimes calling way more than Boombl4

+1, and shox is underrated as a mid round caller. He his a bad igl, he lacks structure and vision but he is a good tactician and he can understand what is going on the map thanks to his lurk and instinct

Ofc if you have coach like blade you dont need a top tier igl

But this is a thing that can break their necks when suddenly they stop fragging under pressure

I cant count Jerry as good IGL but nafany is pretty good.

jerry is actually pretty decent, with experienced players on his side he can IGL a top 20 team easily

I hope he will be better, this is what I want so much. But not in this level I guess.
2021-09-26 17:19
Judging by teamspeaks which i have heard or how is he calling in FPL, I can surely say that he is awesome IGL

ztr was calling on Overpass and Nuke for NiP and he did quite a good job even tho individually he was terrible.

ztr was an awful individual player but nip played much better when he was helping to call

Talents for IGL basically does not exist. You are good in T2-3 IGL but you do not get a chance in T1 because you have no experience. They basically have to get to some bigger event in order to show off against T1 teams.

and then normally the igls team sucks ass so no matter how good they call they could still bomb out teams are built in weird ways where managers still rely on 80 years old grandpas and that cannot frag anymore
2021-09-26 17:19
well thats also because its harder to spot an igl. When you look at a random T2/3 team for the first time, you will most likely notice their star player by his stats or playstyle or something , but you will not spot the igl by any specific things. Also i wanna disagree, we have seen a lot of up and coming igls who have gone to / created a top team the last few years (think about nafany, Nexa who became igl and couple years later he's in G2, Cadian, who started to igl and has gotten better individually and as a leader as well, Blamef and many more

also to spot good leader you need to hear him call. You dont get that from VOD or stuff like that

Also true, i guess the best way to spot an IGL is to hear how he talks about CS during interviews or somethign

how he calls during pugs can be good spot you can sense when somebody knows what they are talking about and how confident they are
2021-09-26 17:22
We cant count nexa, blameF, cadiaN as new talents. Nafany is the only player I can accept as a new one.

i meant new more in the way of the fact that they are new to IGLing. But i see what you mean, they arent really 'CS talents' anymore

its super hard to just build a entire team and make them perform to a tier1 level without getting super lucky with your talent gambit is literally one in a lifetime example of a team that went from nothing to tier1
