32 tick demo

is there any way to get a higher tickrate demo? I watched a demo of a guy on my team because I suspected him of cheating but the demos are such low quality that it looks like I am cheating too

im pretty sure this only works when you record your own POV during the game, which should be 64 tick already so idk what he is talking about

Literally doesn't do anything, they are recorded as 32 tick, so cannot be upscaled with any new detail.

No, the MM game is 64 tick. The demo is 32. Run a demo and check the up- and cmd-bars in your net-graph. Recording a POV demo will record the demo in the server's own tickrate, but server demos from your match-history will be 32 tick on MM-games. Run the demo on 1/4 speed and you will still see ghost shots, because the demo is 32 tick. The command simply makes it look more smooth - it does not make the demo any more accurate towards what actually happened.

Man, if the MM server records a 32 tick demo, where do you suppose a random console command would get the extra 32 ticks from? You can increase the command to 128, doesn't mean it becomes a 128 tick demo. And if it was a 64 tick demo from the beginning, why wouldn't they just show that to the user right away? Why descale it to 32? As #40 said, it's like interpolation. It doesn't add any detail, just makes the low detail less noticeable.

If it is a 64 tick demo, why does the game load it as a 32 tick demo, but doesn't do that for any other demo in the game? When you load a 128 tick demo from a Faceit game it doesn't slow it down to 32 ticks. Why does it do it for MM demos if they are 64 tick? That was my question.

I dont know if it works or not but just wanted to let you know they could be right even though ur logic seems correct, it can work in a way where this command just adds more 'fake' ticks to make it more realistic or something I think there are similar plugins for videos where you can make the super slowed down video smooth even though it seems impossible

Yea it just smooths things out, which is a common practice. Its like interpolation. It's not accurate though.

What he means is, it won't detail what happened in the lost ticks. You ever noticed that quick flicks in a MM demo barely show up? Sometimes your crosshair never moves over the enemy but you still hit the shot, even if you flicked perfectly in game? That's because the demo has a slower tickrate. The flick happened in one of the 32 "off-ticks" which are present in the server, which runs 64 ticks per second, but weren't recorded on the demo, which only records every other tick, aka 32 per second. What #15 is saying is that you won't get that flick back, the crosshair movement will still look just as weird. The only difference this command could make is guessing what happened in the ticks that weren't recorded by the server, and thus making the demo look a bit more visually pleasing.

Yes, but the MM demos are recorded by ValvE and thus cannot be changed. You can record a PoV demo, but that's for you only, not the guy you suspected, unless he recorded during the match and is willing to send you the PoV demo

When you're in a game, type record [name] with whatever name of your choosing. This will record your own POV exactly as you saw it as a demo, allowing you to rewatch your POV exactly as you remembered it. You are however not able to get a POV demo from an old game, rather the recording has to be manually started when you are in the game, live.

Idt so, none of the demos from mm are 64 tick, you can see ghost shots and other anomalies if you watch them.
