Hi giuys! I have 0 knowledge about a PC but i need a desktop for school, work and games/free time. I play Rocket league, Stardew valley mainly atm, and i like racing games too (FH5 is a game im looking forward to) PC guys always say prebuilt bad, but this one seems to be a decent price compared to buying the parts myself. I also have 2x16GB RAM lying around which i can put in this PC, as well as some storage. Is this PC too expensive for what i get or is there a catch?

you shouldn't rely on recommended specs, it's most times wrong and not really necessary. also, the game will improve optimization over the time, but this pc can handle several years

You're welcome! Just take care about the price and search properly to find the best offer. Consider don't buying a prebuilt pc, but building by yourself. It's a superb experience and often cheaper

i have 0 clue how to build pc's. I calculated price roughly and prebuilt seems to be cheaper, considering GPU's skyrocketed

you can watch a youtube tutorial while building it, it's intuitive and really not hard. About the price, i guess you can find the best solution

Price is okayish considering the GPU and other parts shortages. There is probably some lower quality parts in there but what matters most is the CPU and GPU. It's probably way more than what you need to be honest. If you have the money though I see it as a decent buy if it is even available.

The "Ideal PC requirements" are most likely for 60fps4k gameplay Recommended would be most likely like a gtx 1660 and a ryzen 5 3600 or something similar. Do you plan on playing in 4k?

yeah im not sure what "recommended" actually means. I assumed it was 1080p ultra settings

in most cases, your assumption is right, actually.
2021-10-03 23:24
the price is a bit high imo but I think levono do a good job building PC's. You have to make sure that your ram will work with the motherboard you get. Check if it supports your ram before getting it

i checked already, thanks for the heads up! I had a google and i saw that HP etc have weird non-standard parts so impossible to upgrade/fix if something is broken so i think its a decent build do u know of any prebuilt pc's with better specs for the price?

what I truly recommend is to get some promo code from a twitch streamer or some sale etc. It's even possible in your case if you're from France and I'd search for french PC builders if there are good ones. Otherwise ask other users or google for best / cheap PC builders which will deliver to you + promo code / sale. It's worth doing this work if you want to save moneys :>

FH5 I believe is pretty optimized and runs well on even mid-tier modern PCs, this should blow it out of the water at 1440p and very good 4k. Honestly if you do rendering work, that's where this is probably going to help you the the most.

fh5 isnt even out mens)) fh3 was a disaster, fh4 was OK in terms of optimalisation also is oit kinda futureproof?

Definitely future proofed. Sorry, I was thinking of FH4. It should run well given the specs.

prebuilts are better now than before because of stupid high prices. if majority opinion is positive on a prebuilt i say go for it

every review i have seen was kinda postive, i just wanted to see if there's a catch, a really weak part or smth thank u mens)) i appreciate it
2021-10-03 22:54
The differences between prebuilt pc's and ones that you do by yourself is quality parts. Usually, even if it looks like similar specs, is not the same a chinese noname power supply that's white than a good platinum one that will give you stable load. Same with everything else, from ram to harddrives. Good ones will deliver an extra performance and will last way more. In a lot of places you can ask or give them the list and they will built the pc and do the testing for you for $30-50. Only good thing they have now, is that you can find gpu for lower prices on prebuilts, so it can do the trick.

avoid gigabyte tho. especially psus and maybe gpus
2021-10-03 23:06
Never go for pre-builts. They usually cheap out on one component or other, and usually tend to have atrocious support in case anything goes wrong. Go to pcpartpicker and check out specs according to your money that people build there. Learning to build a PC is extremely easy with some YouTube guides. Make a little effort and you won't regret it, especially since you are spending a lot of money and will be using this PC for a long time.

thank u for the advice! appreciate it
2021-10-03 23:01
Yeah the catch is that it is a lenovo. Go on gamers nexus and look at their videos. They explain why. prebuilts are generally bad
2021-10-03 23:05
Lenovo prebuilts are known to be pretty shitty, as stated above, refer to gamersnexus to see with your eyes. You will probably get a custom Lenovo motherboard which will be rendered useless in a while, cheap cooling solution (Lenovo is known to use the cheapest custom crap they can get), you will not want that for a 105 TDP CPU. Same with the case. You'd probably be better off building your own with a friend's help if not confident. The price is not bad, you are still getting a 3070 and a 5950x but still... 1500 euros, you could probably get better RAM, Mobo, cooling and case than you will get with Lenovo. There are other respectable prebuilds on the market, do some research.
