I dont eat lot of carbs, i try to stay at 50gr per day with few exceptions when im eat sweets and junk food.. Im 1.74/78 kg pretty jagged, working out for 10 years. Im fasting daily 12 to 16 hours too. When i eat alot of carbs after a week i start getting fat. Not to be overweight but i start feel it and see it

NO! If you eat low calories and junk food, yes you can lose weight but you will most likely be "skinny fat". So it's not all about calories but about hormones, and if you want to fix hormones, you have to start eat better. If people say they have a good metabolism, it's basically because junk food hasn't screwed their hormones.

Not quite, only stores into fat with *processed carbs*, when you eat fruit or grains the opposite happens. There's studies that show you can literally eat 10K calories of fruit and you'll lose weight because your body can't take that much whole carbs.

It doesnt matter. After 10 years in gym i got mild fatty liver and i was jagged. And thats because my nutrition was based on excessive carbs and all kind of junk food ( ice cream etc ). I had the same mindset that if im working out i can eat whatever i want all day long and ill still be healthy. Well i was totally wrong. I didnt have something very serious but i was heading there without even knowing it. Fatty liver is not joke, specially if you start getting it in late 20s. Its too early

As someone who was an athlete and serious weight lifter almost all his life eating a lot of carbs has nothing to do with weight alone. You can be super fit and have a fatty liver, like i had, without even know it. Blood sugar and insulin issues is your enemy, not carbs themselves. Eat lot of carbs means nothing actually. The question is what kind of carbs. I eat 50 to 100gr per day too. Specially for those who working out are essential. Eating simple carbs is different than complex carbs and veggies which are mainly carbs is way different than eating ice cream. The effect on body is the same yet totally different. If you wanna eat carbs all day do that, i did. But that narrative of is no big thing if you working out will backfire hard after 30s let alone when you are about to hit 40s. If you are 15 to 25, you can do steroids + take extra insulin + test + eat 1kg of ice cream a day and be ok. Mainly because of hormones and fast metabolism and not because you working out alone. But have in mind that the more dmg you do early, the worse symptoms later in life. Never forget that

majority of my carbs come from fruits, veggies, nuts, rice and pasta. I try to avoid sugar because my hands shake and I get dizzy when I eat too much of it(like more than a cookie or two). Doctor said not to worry, so I won't. I meant ratio wise to total calories too, I don't eat that much food. I have a super slow metabolism too. If I eat 3k calories a day I will gain weight, even if I exercise intensely for two hours a day. I sit around 2.5k calories a day if I exercise regularly. If I don't, then I eat around 1800-2000 calories. Might seem like a lot, but I am 6'2'' and 20. Has been slow my whole life. Also I have a reason too. If I eat too much protein it seems like I put on lots of muscle mass. I didn't limit my protein intake for 2 months one time and I gained over 10lbs of muscle from doing cardio 6 times a week, and rock climbing once a week. edit: thanks for the advice though. I care a lot about my health.

Unfortunately, I do tend to eat a lot of carbs. I am fat too, 190 cm tall and 117 kg. Sometimes I restrict myself from eating sweets but I fall back usually, it's so hard to keep myself away from them for long. I try to eat dark chocolate with 80% cocoa content that's slightly better maybe. I don't like exercising either just to have a walk in the evening, above 10k steps on a good day maybe 2-3 times a week but that's it. Lifting weights and shit are not my cup of tea. Maybe I could force myself to do some running or swimming once a week or so. But I know it's not good and I need to change somehow. Yeah and also sometimes when I feel sad I start drinking maybe at the weekend and drink a bottle of wine or a few beers etc. Unfortunately, they all add up and my low physical activity doesn't help either.Sometimes I appreciate veggies but other times I will stay away from them for weeks.

I eat high proteins, high carbs and Im not gaining fat. But I lift weights 4 times in a week and I run once. Every day I do walking as a cardio so that's why. I wud gain more fat if I wasn't this active. The carbs I eat aren't chocolate cookies or candy tho, just shitloads of brown rice, porridge, carelian pies etc.

Carbs are the foundation of almost any culture's diet in the world. They're easy to manufacture, plentiful and fill you up quick. There's nothing wrong with a high carb diet on it's own, as long as you live the right lifestyle for it. The reason people are fat in the US is mainly cause everyone lives a sedentary life, while overeating daily on processed foods. If they would exercise actively and cut all the processed shit, they'd be just fine even if they consumed just as many carbs. If you want to LOSE weight quickly tho, low carb and exercise is the best way to do it. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant and should go talk to any bodybuilder who cuts massive amounts of weight actively. It's simple. Your body turns carbs into glucose which serves as fuel for your body. Cut that fuel intake and your body starts looking for other ways to get it's energy. That's where fat comes in...

tbh i dont even think americans r getting obese bc of diet. we eat very similar to many other countries, i think a big reason is bc of work. people are working 40-60 hours a week at a job that they hate, where they just sit in a chair all day and afterwards they want to relax at home bc they hate their job so they never get their steps or exercise in.
