When Counter-Strike School of Thought Collide
 |
World MangQo
What are you supposed to do when counter-strike school of thought collide? For example you are playing mirage and you have studied professional demos and heard what the most important position to hold as ct - window. This means window will be one of the most important positions to hold froom as a ct. What do you do when your teammate is saying going window is useless and we need to focus on short or connector? And just hold window boost? Or you play dd2 on ct, getting early long control is so important that you will spend most of your utility a few seconds in, then some games your teammates will scream no long is useless give them long hold from site... So how do you determine what you should do?

Or in clutch situations, same scenarios depending on what teammates you get theyll tell you you are wrong. For example I played a 2v1 on dust2 and my teammate screamed GO SHORT WITH TEAMAMTE and teammate ingame screamed GO LONG CROSSFIRE LAST GUY ON SITE

I think the overarching problem is that people will never 'admit' they are wrong

he is kinda right though, playing aggressive con and short will often be more valuable than playing window, especially in the beginning of the round since most teams and pug teams just smoke top mid and/or window off spawn. especially as an awper you want to move more around con/ under/ jump short instead of playing window. If you want to have a window player imo it should be a rifler unless the opponents just run out mid withough smoking top mid/ window. What you can also do is reagress late window with a oneway or premolly their window smoke to leave a gap you can abuse with awp/rifle

you need to play around what your idiot teammates do

+1 especially in cs it seems like following a stupid plan together is more effective than everybody doing whatever they want in most cases.

Just instant ban Mirage. Ez profit for your life. If you don't play mirage you gain 5 more years to live.

This isnt something to easily explain over a forum but neither way it depends very much on the situation. If they're known to go A a lot it could benefit one guy playing stairs and the other two site/under palace. dd2 is also depended on the situation long control determines very much the play of the game if long is locked the cts can force them to go short or b and long hold to site is also very strong if you watch some zywoo/simple clips of dd2 you will see a lot of the highlights are from them standing in the open on car and killing short guys if you didn't have long control you wouldn't be able to that. But as #4 said play around your idiot teammates it may sometimes be the "wrong" move but in most cases it wouldn't hurt

You should do both. You have to switch strats. Even watching PRO matches You will see sometimes them fighting gor control and other times just being passive. So sometimes the "idiots" strats can work in Your favor.

Exactly, depends very much on the situation sometimes spicying things up if your behind by 7 rounds wouldn't be a bad idea

I think generally it is better to have a gameplan that everyone follows, even if it might be worse than the "best" gameplan. So if your teammate is very stubborn on how to approach a map, follow that plan. Especially with the dust 2 example, if your teammate doesn't want to help you take long then there is no point in trying to take it alone(most of the time), so you're better off just doing as he says

rule 1. playing is worth more then arguing, if the situation needs it then you have to be the first one to give up rule 2. if you are playing 2vX and your dead teammate starts backseating, you can note what he says but prioritize communication with your teammate that is alive. co-operation is the key. rule 3. do not fully ignore anyone, make the most out of any situation. If somebody gives up on you and starts doing crazy solo plays, you have to think a way to more benefit as a team from their stubborness. (f.e pushing with him, flashing, trading etc.) this has worked pretty well so far for me

Tbh holding connector sucks, one flash and you're doomed

If you are playing with genuinely bad teammates, you could likely try getting into a position that is a raw aim duel early to convert to 5v4 etc. I've cost my team games before because I had too much confidence in them that they could execute basic CS concepts like carrying the bomb to the empty site.
