the emo and pop punk era was much better than whatever it is that's currently being made.

Can you lead me in the right direction? Even the new Machine Gun Kelly stuff is starting to sound decent, idc what he is like as a person, but the songs sound ok.

Well turns out MGK's diss at eminem seemed to be good for him as Eminem's song about him has 400mil views already, geez. His music is not for me though.

Yeah, his rap stuff I don't care for, but after the eminem "beef", he turned towards pop punk, that I dont' mind.

Too old to care about music like that, if you like that, no problem, everyone is allowed to have their own taste, not going to criticize anyone over their music taste.

Never heard, sounds like a generic indie song, would fit good for some movie soundtrack, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it, but I don't mind it.

Every era has something relevant (but 70s prog rock bestest) Of the current era we here the whole spectrum of shit and cream, but from the older stuff we remember often the best stuff. And from the much older eras we know the cream that has risen to the top and still gets played and recommended. Still, plz erase autotune from the world

Well yeah, we just remember the best songs from all the previous eras, all the bad songs will be forgotten(unless they are rembered for being extremely bad), but I still think current era is one of the worst we've had in music, music editing softwares are freely available, everyone is a artist now. I don't mind if I'm being prooven wrong with posting good music. 70s prog rock is also decent, just not the sweetspot for me.

I can't disagree, I have the same feeling about current era Although it's nice that there's quite a lot of good singer-songwriters and prog metal bands, maybe it's the "money before everything else" record companies and the short and snappy 2-3 minute hits that I really don't like. And autotune.
2021-10-16 20:49

Autotune I don't even care, as long as it's not obvious, as long as the song sound as good as possible, but if it's obvious someone can't sing and trying to save that with autotune, then it ruins the whole thing.

Yeah, probably it doesn't matter so much in the big picture, and the quality gets better so it isn't so noticeable I'm just biased because I'm a singer so it feels like cheating, lol

In most songs it isn't that noticable, and some artists seem to overuse it for artistic effect.

Yeah, seems to be trendy or meta thing with some of the artists

Completely agreed. I used to listen only to electronic music, got into rock and metal later and nowadays pretty much any genre goes. I listen to a lot of Kid Cudi now xD

50% of emo lyrics talk about how vocalists hate their town and wanna do something brave "tonight". It's gotten so repetitive that it died. I can't wait for the death of rap, too.
