ESIC investigation on HERORIC - status?
Denmark BlindZenDriver
Time has passed since ESIC announced they were looking into the claims of HUNDEN that other members of HERORIC was involved with him cheating, but I can't find news on a ruling or even hints that ESIC is actually doing anything. Now I do find the claims of HUNDEN questionable as he only made them after getting kicked for sharing internal team stuff ie. a big no no - something that has gotten a 2 year ban for doing. So anyone that can link to updated info on the ESIC investigation?

It is almost funny. They literally write hat "Due to the public nature of the allegations, ESIC has chosen to declassify the matter for public listing in accordance with its Transparency Initiative. Accordingly, all updates relating to this matter will be issued here." only their updates contain zero detail on findings just that they are working on the matter and a now in the finalisation stage. It has to suck for all involved to be kept in limbo.

I think those involved have a pretty good idea of whats happening, just that everyone else has no idea wtf is going on anymore, just like literally every other ESIC case at this point

I expect you are right only it doesn't change there must be huge pressure from fans, sponsors, event organizers - it is even a topic in main stream press here in DK.
2021-10-17 17:42
How are you even supposed to prove that someone else was involved? Demos won’t help with that.

the coach had to join first (idk exactly, but it was something like this), I think he provided server logs that showed other players disconecting again so he was able to set up the bug

investigations take a long time

they are done investigating, weve been waiting for almost 2 weeks for the results to be publicized meanwhile heroic is just farming tournaments like nothing happened

What else can the team do. Take a break while waiting on ESIC? They must all be amused to be innocent until proven otherwise, that then means they can of course go on fragging like there wasn't a case - except I am sure it has impacted their sponsorships so in that way they are being punished guilty or not.

We know that the org is guilty of trying to cover up HUNDEN's cheating so it's not like there's a chance getting dropped by their sponsors wasn't warranted

While I'm agree with you, they encouraged tournament organizers to avoid Akuma (or any team with at least 3 of them) because of the matchfix/cheating scandal when there was no resolution at all.

That's slightly different since Akuma allegedly cheating/matchfixing would have ruined the competitive integrity of the events they attend while Heroic are being investigated for having been complicit in Hunden's year old coaching bug abuse Recommending TO's to avoid Heroic till the investigation finishes would imo only make sense if Hunden was still in the team

Yes and no, if Hunden claims are right, it means the players were abusing the bug, just like him, so they would be able to abuse any other bug that gives them advantage. I mean, it's proved that Heroic benefit from coach bug, while it's still unclear about Akuma cheat/matchfix. In both cases, it's hard to say until the investigation is finished.

How do you see that? If you are referring to the NDA then I gotta say I think it is a total mischaracterization, signing a NDA is normal in lots of organizations and in fact many of the things in a NDA is standard in just normal work contracts. If anything one can say that HUNDEN decided to share internal stuff with other teams just demonstrated that a NDA makes sense.

The Heroic NDA explicitly prevented players from speaking out on cheating with the threat of up to a 500k fine That's the very definition of covering up cheating

I disagree - it is simply about the organization not wanting to risk the players saying something that can be taken out of context on the matter. Such a thing is nothing special.

It might not be anything uncommon but it's still wrong and compromises the integrity of the game
2021-10-17 18:28
esic not decided how they should decrease punishment by amount of money heroic is giving, because different players give different amount like niko has just 50k, borup has 20k, not clear how they should treat different cases because evidence is different on those players too like some player cheated harder etc

After thorough examination of information provided to ESIC, and significant additional investigative activity, ESIC is in the process of finalising its findings and producing a report into this matter. A further update will be issued here upon the finalisation of the investigation report.
2021-10-17 17:19
Difficult to find def proof about anyone else other than Hunden and Hunder has been talking rubbish trying to take everybody down with him, cos he is a "caring and sharing" person. I am sure they get there one day......
2021-10-17 17:25
probably they will wait after the major to not cause a super big drama
2021-10-17 17:26

Well - imagine the drama if they are found to be guilty of something. There is gonna be a massive outcry about them even being in the major and since they might do well this well then just make for even bigger outcry.

esic.gg/open-investigations-register/ "Status finalisation" There you go.
2021-10-17 17:41
I dunno as well why they need so long. They have the "evidence" ... and it isn't like they need to look at it for weeks...
2021-10-17 18:05
Didn't ESIC ban Hunden for 2 years? esic.gg/sanction-outcome/esic-issues-2-y.. I don't think Heroic roster will get any bans. They're actively participating in every event. This is it.
