Well that’s because opening kills isn’t the only thing an entry does. Entry as a role can be divided into 2 categories: Opening Kills and Creating Space. Ideally, you want your entry doing both, however that’s not always the case. For example, say you’re executing B site inferno, and after playing some banana control, Niko gets a kill on an apps player on the other side of the map, causing a rotation. Nexa then says “ok now we go” and they do a site execute, with JaCkz going in first, pushing onto site and dying to someone in dark, but they trade him and plant because they have control of the site. In this example, JaCkz is still the entry, even though he didn’t participate in the Opening fight. The good thing about JaCkz is he rarely loses the info fights and at least on T side, goes 1 for 1. Even when he doesn’t, he excels at space making, so even when he dies, his team is usually set up to either win the round or at the very least, take the site.
