Both great countries, odd to pick Canada. I would go with Germany. - Less space, but Germany is still pretty big. - Better neighbors and lots of them. - Easy access to all of EU - Food, beer, wine. - Autobahn and the ring.

+1 In the classic Nordschleife layout, not the modern Grand Prix circuit where they run F1 and more. The one to rule them all. When there isn't racing going on it is a pay road with only one way traffic and no speed limits. Ie. it is a race track where you can run anything that is road legal and people do.

To far from being a every weekend thing for sure. It is a special place I think. Not only because of history but just the track it self and the way it is open to the public.

Just once. An experience to see it, one needs to treat with respect - thinking you know the corners from some sim doesn't make for you setting a quick time. If I lived near it, then I could see my self going often to learn the track and also just car control and so in general. The later one can also do on track days, but there is so few chances for that here in Denmark (to few tracks and so).

France is not that great. I know a huge amount of french that comes to canada amd stay there because people are more respectful. They feel safer in canada. People in france are rude and often aggressive when they dont like you. Lots of french girls i know gets harassed and on the streets just because they are women. They also have a serious problem with immigration. The work culture is also very bad as intimidation is allowed. Canada is better in everyway except for the winters

do you feel threatened in sweden? or have you ever been in the situation where you had to defend yourself with a weapon? then why do you want to go to a country where everyone can carry a weapon and then you have to defend yourself with a weapon?
2021-10-19 19:19
18 replies
Let me explain. I live rurally, it takes the police ~20 minutes to get here. If someone wanted to hurt me, they could go here and they would have 20 minutes with me alone. That is if i manage to call the cops. If i had a weapons license and a weapon, i would be required to have multiple safes around the house where the different parts of the weapon lay in each safe. If i manage to shoot this man before he shot me, i would've illegally assembled the weapon beforehand and therefore i would have broken the law. Every fall/winter, the polacks come here to break in and steal shit, ofc you become paranoid when you hear about neighbors who had a break-in while they were at work. What if i'm home? Also, violence is on the rise and it may only be a matter of time before it makes it to your doorstep. I heard about elderly people not too far from here who had a break-in and they were tortured for hours.

Does it mean that it cannot happen? No. Sure, the risk may not be sky high but if i am one of the few who is the victim of a home invasion i would want to protect my family, wouldn't you? Stop marginalizing a problem, no matter how big or small it is. And no, violence is on the rise. Violent crimes have increased since 2015.

First of all, MASSIVE increase since 2014/15 until 2020 Deadly violence has increased ESPECIALLY, and is still increasing. Check SCB or any other source you like. Even BRÅ confirms this. The way your putting it here on the forums ofc you make it sound better than it is because you use a larger span.

2020 was abnormally high and 2012 was abnormally low. murder rate is still 1.2 per 100k which is nothing, highest recorded murder rate was in 1989 with a murder rate of 1.5 per 100k. our murder rate would be much lower if it wasn't for gang violence though. organized crime is the only real crime issue we have in Sweden.

wait, you said massive increase since 2014/2015 but the increase since 2015 and 2020 has only been 12 cases which is a 10,7% increase, AND it's basically only Stockholm being reponsible for the increase

You attacked me for expressing my concerns with our laws regarding self defense, calling me paranoid. No matter how low the violence is here, you are not immune to be a victim. I prefer to minimize my chances, rather than taking my chances. And the fact that organized crime is on the rise is not a good thing, in fact it means you are more likely to be affected. As we have seen lately, small children, police officers, teenage girls, mothers and father, all innocent have been badly hurt or killed as a result of organized crime. It’s not an isolated problem. Please stop marginalizing our problems.

I guess you are referring to our hockey team? Jokes aside, yeah to be honest it is a very scary situation. I grew up in a so called "no go zone" and saw this coming many years ago, the issue is the lack of action to stop it. Nobody really does anything besides "lets talk about our feelings..." which does fuck all, the solution is simple.... 1. Legalize drugs. 2. Charge gang members with organized crime (like the Americans did with the Italian Mafia in the 70s). 3. Make prison sentences much much much longer for all violent crimes. 4. Deport anyone who is not a citizen and revoke Swedish citizenship of those who have 2 and deport them.

Thé US will eventually have the best hockey team country wise with all the developmental programs there. I see what you’re saying though, that does seem like a complicated situation. You brought up the Mafia. For whatever reason, that brought up Batman in my head because I recently watched the new trailer. Even though the world is shit rn. That movie is something to look forward too.

You are probably right about the US eventually being the best, to be perfectly honest hockey is a dying sport in Sweden. It used to be huge now they have trouble filling the arenas, at least in my city. Soccer/football is so much more popular. We could really use a Batman over here to be honest hahaha. Yeah I'm looking forward to that movie as well.

Probably tending on what city you live in and whether or not the team is good or not. People don’t tend to support teams most of the time in all sports if the team sucks. I don’t think it’s dying but who knows. I know a lot of Swedes follow the NHL. And yeah the Batman trailer I keep rewatching it. Hyped for the movie it looks so badass.
2021-10-20 19:44
In all honesty bro, I believe the elections are rigged. I think he knew he was going to win even before the election took place. Its either that or all the people in Ontario and Quebec just brainlessly vote for him without knowing anything. Reminds me a lot of California and New York for the states. Trudeau has lost the popular vote twice in a row now, in our election the seats are determined by the population of the province. Ontario and Quebec are the most populated so therefore they get the most seats. Even though Trudeau gained pretty much no votes in western Canada like the previous election. He won off those two provinces alone.

Atleast from my experience hes not loved within the liberal left comunity lol, people hate him but still want to vote liberal because the conservatives are still voting against bills to ban conversion therapy, and dont believe in cliamte change, etc and no matter how bad ppl are thinking trudeau is theyd still vote for him than a party with views like that, my friends don't like him but didn't want to vote conservative and instead voted ndp(farther left than liberal)

The problem is we keep digging ourself into a deeper hole and eventually it will take years to get ourself out. People are voting based on emotion rather than what is best for the country. Trudeau is not it. The same can be said with the states. Let’s be real here, can hate trump all you want but he was not a bad president no matter how the media tries to twist it. But the left, voted for Biden because they kept getting their feelings hurt on Twitter and so on. Wouldn’t be surprised if that election is rigged too. I really find it hard to believe 81 million people voted for Biden, a guy who can hardly finish a sentence.
2021-10-20 00:08
1 reply
Yea I agree on all the voting on emotion, but I really doubt anything is rigged lol, I don't have sources or have done any research into obviously so I could be wrong but it just seems like a stupid thing the losing side will always try to push. And saying whats best for the country I think can be a bit of hindsight, for the covid situation for example I think any party in charge would've shit the bed, but people used Trudeau's poor handling on the situation as a way to get him voted out and with the timing of it all they all got to show off how they would've handled it and what they could do, but they all just know exactly what's failed so anything they say they makes them look better in comparison

Both countries are great, and have a lot of pro's and cons. As a Canadian who was raised in Canada and has lived all over Canada I can say I do love most of the people and most of the communities. But if you stray away from the major cities, Canada's infrastructure is terrible, our universal healthcare gets worse and worse the further away from big cities you get, oh and our political situation is absolute garbage right now. It's not even that I just don't like our current government, I hate all of our options. Our housing market is wildly out of control right now, inflation and cost of living is climbing to be out of control soon. I like the multiculturalism in the big cities. I like that we have two national languages. And I like that most people universally like Canadians.

Not sure about Germany but my own experience in Canada didn’t make me feel like I want to stay there permanently..

Sorry to hear that but can you explain what did not make you feel like staying there?
2021-10-20 17:11
why?
2021-10-20 17:29
lol why? Canada is awesome, just like Germany
2021-10-20 18:27
Well. Neither of them lol. But, gun to my head: Germany. I would never in my life live in North America.

UK and US = same values, same language, a lot of Americans/Canadians are native Brits (and other EU people since NA was made mostly by Europeans). So the question is: are you trolling or you're russian/chinese fakeflagging bot?

LMFAO "UK and US = same values, same language, a lot of Americans/Canadians are native Brits (and other EU people since NA was made mostly by Europeans)." Bad bait. I would never in my life live in America or Canada.

your life, your choice... but it is still weird imo. UK is also amazing country, not worse than those two so if you're really UK citizen, then it's ok

I like both tbh. Two top countries with top conditions for life. They are similar in many aspects btw.

A close call. Never been to Canada. Would love to go to Canada for vacation or a year long stay. Admire Canadas ability to stay sane while living next to USA. (I like USA, but it´s been crazy and full of anger for many years now) But if I had to live in one of them I would most likely go for Germany. Some of the same reasons as #88, but I also really like to visit castles and really old cities (those that weren´t bombed in WW2). Germany, and her neighbors, have tons of historic sites and cities.

Any Western country is dope and cool. It depends on what you like more, North American region or European regions. I would say that EU is better for infrastructure (old and beautiful), North America is better for sick nature. Germany/Canada in general is good choice anyway
2021-10-20 18:44
Both amazing, but i'm European so i choose [Germany] obviously.
2021-10-20 18:44
Germany ofc. I like Canada too tho
2021-10-20 18:46
Canada is 2nd best country in my list after Germany. 3rd best is USA ofcourse.
