tier 1 teams

unless nip and vita can win anything, I'm gonna count them as tier 1.5 and heroic are inconsistant af especiually on lan so we got tier 1: gambit + navi tier 1.5: nip, vita, heroic g2, virtus pro, astralis, faze and ence the rest are tier 2+ I don't understand how people call vitality and nip tier 1 teams they will only be tier 1 once they win a global event, not a regional RMR

maybe I'd call the teams that are top 10/15 that haven't won an event tier 1.5 tho since the haven't proven anything

t1 = title contenders OG, G2, FaZe, Astralis, ENCE, VP etc. are not title contenders

none of those team have won anything in whole 2021, so they are really not title contenders lol

Vp is not really a title contender, they're also inconsistent af One day they play like gods, and the other day they forget how to aim

not that many events in 2021, but all of these teams can beat any team in the world (maybe not on regular basis but u know)

There has been a good amount, but other than heroic/nip taking 1 each. Navi and Gambit just took the rest

There is no definitive definition for t1. It's perceptual, whatever you think. There's always going to be flaws with every definition.

I think the writer of this article thought of tiers in tier 1. because if he says rest is tier 2 than FURIA is in the same tier as academy teams or eSuba/OFFSET/saw/ +a loads of regional bests

Tier 1 = all sponsored teams that can get to top 8 (current top 15 with exceptions for teams like cph flames who are Tier 2 but on a good run atm, and Furia who are on a bad streak but are Tier 1 despite being 18th) Tier 1.5 = all sponsored teams that can reliably take games off of SOME of Tier 1. (Teams like Entropiq, Spirit, ForZe, etc.) Tier 2 = mostly sponsored teams that can take “fluke” games off of Tier 1 (bottom half of the top 30: teams like Dig, Sinners, Movistar Riders, MAD Lions, etc.) Tier 3 = somewhat sponsored teams that can take “fluke” maps off of Tier 1 (teams like Nemiga, K23, AGO, Mouz NXT) Tier 4 = unsponsored shit teams

NA Brain. I am generalizing in order to make it more clear. All of Tier 1 is sponsored. Some of Tier 3 has sponsors. None of Tier 4 have sponsors.

It is not an NA brain moment. You are just confused. When a tier 1 team gets dropped by an org are they still tier 1? of course. Thus, having sponsors has absolutely NOTHING to do with how good a team is. Adding it into your generalization worsens your opinion on how to divide the tiers. When a tier 1-2 team is inbetween orgs, or got dropped by an org, are they no longer tier 1-2? If a unsponsored team performs well enought to reliably beat t1 teams, what role does having an org even do in this situation? Are female teams considered t3 just because they have sponsors? Are academy teams t3 just because teams are hoping to farm players off of them, even though some of them aren't even top 100?

Yeah, I read it. Maybe the reason why you don't understand what I am saying is because you are using the wrong words in English. You are using words with absolute meanings. In other words, you are not allowing for concession. ecenglish.com/en/social/blog/toronto/201..
2021-10-19 21:42
That's my tier list too, based on who can beat or take maps from opponents. I think that's best and after that we can talk about tiers inside of tiers. or for example tier 1 top/mid/bottom

Exactly. Great minds think alike.
2021-10-19 21:06
Tier 1 isn't two teams it's the top 10/15 at the very least and generally the whole top 20. Tier 1 doesn't mean who is playing the best neccesarily. It's a combination of play, org, pay structure etc. EG is still a tier 1 team despite sucking donkey dick for example. So yes 1-10 as of today the 19th are all 100% tier 1 teams. and teams behind them like VP, BiG, Mouz etc are also tier 1.

Yes. The reason really is because Tier 1 teams are just opportunity. The opportunity to make a shit ton of money playing CS. Whether that's thru pay, or winning tournaments or whatever. Sprinkle on a 20 year history in some cases with some of these teams and they are tier 1. I don't know how else to explain it. If C9 came in with a middling squad that was like barely top 20 it would 1000% be a tier 1 team. It's the richest org on the planet.

I know this may sound stupid to some of you but well known teams with well known pros in it are the highest tier :D So what I mean by that? Na'Vi G2 Nip Gambit FaZe Vitality Astralis VP and maybe Heroic = T1 ENCE and the rest already tier 2 or lower, even though they might be better right now than let's say G2 lmao

2021-10-20 00:02
top 10-15 is tier 1 atm imo because of how shaky it is between 5 and 15 right now 15-20 is what you call tier 1.5 where they're on the cusp of becoming a tier 1 team 20-35 is tier 2 That's all super rough tho, better way of looking at it imo is Tier 1 means competing with the best teams at the best events constantly and looking competitive there consistently. e.g. I'd definitely call FaZe a tier 1 team because they're always at the best events and always look competitive there, but I wouldn't call CPH a tier 1 team because despite looking pretty good at this most recent event, they haven't consistently been performing at that level, similar story for ENCE but imo they will definitely be considered tier 1 after the Major, they seem very good, but it's impossible to know for sure
