Historically/culturally the UK shares more with Western Europe, and while the top of the UK reaches pretty far north, London (and thus most of the population) resides in the south closer to other Western European countries.

yeah idk bc by like UN standards the UK is considered Northern Europe
2021-10-25 21:44
It depends on your definition. I know some people and institutions consider Northern Europe to be anything north of the alps, so Germany, Netherlands, Austria and of course the UK.

Germany is Central Europe (or west if anything, but not North)

I think it’s just a north/south divide with no regard to east/west.
2021-10-25 22:33
Like which one? I have never seen that! Netherlands always west Europe and Germany always west/central

I read/heard it somewhere, but couldn’t really find a proper source for it. The Wikipedia page for Northern Europe does say “A broader definition would include the area north of the Alps”, though.

Like I said, depends on your definition. Some people don’t even consider anything to be Central Europe, only North/South and West/East.

What? No, we're European. People may see us as generally less integrated with Europe (due to location, history, etc. etc.) compared to the rest of the mainland. But we're still definitely European. I'd say West always, and then depending on context sometimes Northern (when talking about weather perhaps), but most of the time just West.

London is roughly level to Berlin, I would consider most of the Uk just western europe. Scotland is northwest I guess

North is basically Scandinavia. The UK and Ireland would be Western Europe.

Fish and chips, there bond with the sea, pasteries, theater and music, english breakfast, etc etc Everyone has there culture, be it combined of other cultures, or their own Not being able to see their culture is not understanding how to live aswell. You could say americans don't have culture aswell in that thinking, maybe less that brits But their culture just shows how they live, how to look at the world and in their case, how they consume things
2021-10-25 22:09
>Eats curry or kebab >Drives French car >Drinks German or Irish beer >Bangs Dutch prostitutes >Travels to the Mediterranean for holidays Ah yes, the "British" culture.

Yeah Sweden issue is mostly jokes, but the bitterness used to be real when living standards were a lot higher there. But the difference is quite small now so no need to be bitter. Also since we won the "Åland dispute" we evened the score a bit. Swedes were very salty over that ruling. Estonia: Tough question depends who you ask. I feel like Estonians might have more problems with us then we have with them. Official relations are quite warm though Russia: I would not say most Finns "hate" Russia, but let's say we are a bit wary of what is going on over there. Of course this is just regarding the actions of the Russian state, the people of Russia we have no problems with.
