Lithuania has pretty meh English speak people but they like Spanish guys and good looking girls here. also, I think UK is still should be available for Erasmus, is if English speaking countries is a priority then go there... I can find an Internship in UK via Erasmus traineeship so I think it should be available for Students aswell.

I don't know, but I met like 5 Spanish guys on Erasmus in my university and they all were like "players" basically leaving the club/bar with a different girl everytime. I guess they like the "exotic" vibe or idk, maybe those 5 were actually "players"...

Yeah, I also only went around 4 weeks and travelled back after because of COVID and because the courses were too basic compared to the modules I have already done at my university. The school overall and the teacher/students were very nice though and much more practical.

u can apply for SU as a student in Denmark, which is essentially money u get from the government for studying, it's not a lot but it's typically enough to pay for rent and food

u sure bro? the whole point of SU is literally that u dont have to work while studying so you can focus 100% on school - i have danish citizenship and used to study there and I had a job on the side to earn extra money which resulted in me having to pay back a percentage of my SU because they concluded that I didn't need all of it
2021-11-18 20:08
5 replies
well, if you are not lucky enough to have a danish citizenship then yes, you have to do at least 43h per month to get SU I study there for 2.5 years and everyone with an EU citizenship has to apply for something like equal rights as danish citizens

oh shit didn't know that but I guess it makes sense to make some sort of restriction so foreigners wouldn't just go to denmark, apply for random education and pocket all the cash until the transactions are eventually stopped kinda steep that u have to do at least 43 hours tho, i remember most jobs for uneducated people being like 15-30 max with shit pay and terrible hours

they sent me for work experience for a month, been fixing laptops in london lol edit: either way you gonna end up in a family that is signed up to the program and has been rated positively by other project participants. you gotta be lucky with your family as you can get lots of different families, from old to young people and from black to muslim families. some of them might not even feed you meat or something faith based but when you sign up to the project you will have to fill a questionnaire about what food u like what u dont etc and based on that they gonna pick best suited family for u. if u get work experience like me u might even eat at work, i dont remember if i was ever hungry back then and time spent there was well worth it

i was thinking of ireland. You guys seem to be super kind and happy, and it's not like UK that has some restrictions regarding the stay of the student (afaik). I dont really know how the accent is but it seems cool for what you say. Is student life nice over there? like student atmosphere and so. And dublin is like the most famous thing, is it cool?
2021-11-17 19:30

I study in Dublin and the student atmosphere is great tbh. If you can get into Trinity or UCD you will have a blast. The nightlife here is great and there is also a big Spanish population here so you won't find it hard to find good Spanish food if you start to get home sick (which wont happen cuz you'll be having way too much fun partying and hanging out with your new friends). So this is my advertisement for Ireland for you my friend. I am a little biased because i am Irish so take that into account ahaha

I was going to have an Erasmus to Italy this year, I had an interview and other 19 students had it too to determine which 10 would go. The interview was made by the English teacher of some of their students but she was not my teacher, and she decided that she would only let her students go even though in theory the English level and the interview were the things that would end up determine the results. Spoiler, I ended up the last on the list and even below some students that didn't even had good enough English marks, while I had the C1 from the Cambridge school and a 10/10 last year in English

I did the erasmus in Germany (Osnabruck) and few people speak english or atleast wanted to speak English with me, also some people were very racist, one fat bitch ass kick me from my bus to home for not speaking enough German, and she drop me in a fucking shithole km away from anything, overall it was fun because i travelled a lot and made friends, but now i hate some germans

That's fucked up. I had a different experience in Buchholz. The people were really friendly and spoke English with varying skills, but most just laughed it off. I got denied service at a store once though for the language barrier

lmao sry but the way you said sounds pretty funny, maybe they didn't understand you? no hard feelings, hope you had a good time

92% of dutch people speak English, and prob 100% at a college so you should be fine.

For studying Leiden is great! I went there a month ago I think its my favourite city now. Haarlem (close where I live is great as well, although not a ''student city''. Haarlem is like a small Amsterdam. It has a very nice atmosphere. Leiden is 25 min with the train awayt from there. But Leiden is the best for studying I think.

go to Groningen or Utrecht, both cool cities)) (Utrecht especially cos it is located very centrally which means you can easily travel to other cities while Groningen is very isolated)

it's a rather small city (around 250k people I believe) but has a decent student population of around 50k students. Nightlife is decent as far as I know, although only went out in Groningen once so can't tell too much from personal experience, but I heard there's all kind of different clubs n pubs, so sure something you like as well. Also the campuses of the Uni's are decent sized as well. Public transport is decent in NL as well, you'll be in Amsterdam with a 2 hour train ride if you would like to check that out

I was in Vilnius, Mykolos Romeris University and there were so many Spanish people that they kind of didn't give a shit about others and just hanged around together every time. English level of Lithuania is on huge 0 but its nice city, cheap alcohol and for u Spanish people it was like heaven because u got much much more money than us plebs from eastern Europe. If u want cheap Erasmus with a lot of alcohol just choose eastern Europe that's it.

To add, in pretty much every country: the housing issue is common in many places, you have to register where you live with the city council, it is handy to get a bank account within the country, and you can use your phone without issue for at least the first 3months, in most northern european countries you can get around by bike. There are also a lot of spaniards in most places. Since somebody mentioned Leiden, the university there is on humanities, you can draw your own conclusions :^)

Going to Netherlands might work well for you. It is definitely a pretty nice experience overall, but considering that you are studying psychology not every country has a study programme in english for it, for example Denmark doesn't have any faculty of psychology in english, only danish and I think this situation is often met in other countries.
