The Turkish government has decided to switch to vegetarianism and raise awareness against food waste to face the collapse of the Turkish lira and uncontrollable food prices hikes. If the rule of law was also respected, even Greenpeace would be jealous of the Turkish regime’s green push. “Instead of eating 1-2 kilos of meat monthly, let’s eat half a kilo. We buy 2 kilos of tomatoes and half of them go to the trash. Well, let’s get 2 tomatoes,” said Turkish lawmaker Zülfü Demirba? who belongs to President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an’s AKP party. euractiv.com/section/politics/short_news.. Respect.

This will never be a real thing just because everyone can buy whatever they want, it is a good iniciative but you can't force people to buy less. If someone wants to but 2 kg of meat they will, nothing you can do about it

Well there is still significant number of people in each country that kinda like to have being told what to do (even if its scary because that can get dangerous quickly by some manipulations) so even if this will lower the meat consumption by 10-15% its still having an impact on enviroment. Just because it doesnt change everybody doesnt mean its not working or bad

i am not a muslim but I have no problem with people who do not live their faith on a political level. most of the people around me live like me but the only difference is they believe in god. believe in god is not a big deal. i only care about people having a secular lifestyle. I like people who have adopted a secular lifestyle. the rest is not important.

Isn't it the other way around? Most poor shitholes are conservative and rich countries tend to be more woke and progressive.

Well in this case it's funny because lefties are cheering Erdogan like he is some hero because the people can not afford meat products. As far as the correlation between the political climate and wealth, it's a difficult comparison for many reasons. I think the most prosperous nations have been built with minimal/limited government control. Small government is surely not a left-wing feature.
